Chapter 71: Chapter 71: Saibamen, or Ork?
"Kasha! I have something to discuss with Axis, you can go back for now!" Russ turned to Kasha as he spoke.
Next, he planned to talk with Axis about the two Saibamen, so it was best if no outsiders were present.
Kasha smiled slightly at his words, nodded to both Russ and Axis, and was about to leave, only for Axis to stop her.
"It's fine. It doesn't matter if you know what's coming next," Axis said.
After all, they were already sharing a bed; keeping more secrets would be unreasonable.
Besides, Kasha had already told him her greatest secret, her identity as the Emperor's daughter.
As for the matter of the Saibamen, Axis had no intention of hiding it from Kasha.
In fact, when it came time to cultivate more Saibamen in the future, perhaps they could even use psychic power to enhance them.
The Emperor's psychic power was, after all, the best option.
The Emperor's psychic power possessed extremely pure properties and was highly effective against Warp entities.
If the Saibamen could acquire such power, nothing could be better.
When the the Emperor eventually took the Golden Throne, the living saints were the only ones able to wield some measure of the Emperor's divine might.
But for now, to his knowledge, Kasha alone possessed such power.
"Hahaha! Looks like you finally bagged this girl, or maybe, she bagged you!" Russ said, grinning widely at Axis.
The twitch at the corner of Axis' mouth was enough for russ to understand.
Russ seem to be holding back a roar.
Getting taken down by a woman a century or two older than himself… Axis felt a bit embarrassed.
"It was me who bagged Axis. He just drank too much that day," Kasha said with a gentle laugh.
And Russ couldn't hold back anymore, he reared with laughter.
"Russ and I have cultivated Saibamen capable of using Ki. They're a kind of creature somewhere between plant and animal, with powerful combat abilities.
"I'll introduce you to the two of them in a moment," Axis briefly explained, coughing and shifting the topic.
"They can use Ki? And they're between plant and animal? Doesn't that sound just like Orks?" Kasha exclaimed in surprise.
As the Emperor's daughter, she had heard about various strange races in the universe back when she was still favored by her father.
Orks were certainly among them. They uncanny creatures that were nearly impossible to kill, no matter how hard you tried.
And in strict biological terms, Orks were actually half-plant, half-animal, with rapid reproductive abilities. Which fit Axis' situation perfectly.
"They are rather similar to Orks, but in terms of combat power, they're much stronger," Axis said.
Kasha nodded, though she had no idea where Axis had found such peculiar creatures.
"The first Saibaman will need to stay hidden as it looks exactly like any xenos. As for the second, if we need to bring it out, we can just call it an Abhuman," Russ said.
Excluding the pale green skin, pointed ears, Dou was almost identical to a human, that was the standard Imperial Abhuman.
Over the past couple of days, he had also taken some of this Saibaman's blood and had the ship's apothecary run some tests.
The apothecary's conclusion was that its genes were over 60% human, with the rest resembling plant genes.
It reality was a textbook case of an Imperial mutant Abhuman.
"That's not a problem, but Dad, have you thought about how you're going to explain where this Saibaman came from?" Axis asked.
The Saibaman could use Ki, which inevitably linked it to Axis, but in another sense, it was still a genetic descendant of Russ.
"Haha! No need for anything complicated. My Wolf sons will keep the secret forever. No need to explain too much, they won't even ask," Russ replied.
He trusted his children absolutely.
Besides, Axis had told his female psyker companion, so he believed his Wolf sons could also keep the secret.
"No, that won't work. This can't be made public. Ordinary Wolfs mustn't know about the Saibaman. Too many mouths means, too much risk," Axis insisted.
Russ trusted his gene-sons unconditionally, but Axis knew it couldn't be absolute.
In the future, there really had been traitors in the Wolves, some of whom had even defected to Chaos.
Examples included but wasn't limited to Skyrar's Dark Wolves.
"Are you saying both Saibamen should remain hidden? But if that's the case, how will we enhance them using Ki?" Russ asked.
"The transmission of Ki happened through direct contact, so it isn't actually necessary to see the real body.
"I've already thought of an explanation. First, I would be the one to strengthen the Space Wolves with Ki. As long as I was on the ship, I would handle it myself.
"Once I returned to my own ship, Dou would take over this job, but he'd have to stay disguised.
"For example, we could hide Dou inside a machine, and then have Ki pour out from that machine, continuously strengthening the bodies of the Space Wolves," Axis explained.
"But then, how would you explain the source of the Ki to the Space Wolves? You wouldn't even be around!" Russ asked.
"That's easy. Just say I stored a large amount of Ki inside a special machine in advance. That Ki would then be used to strengthen the other Space Wolves.
"This way, not only could Dou participate in the strengthening, but even the first Saibaman could take part," Axis replied.
"We'll do it your way then," Russ agreed after a bit of contemplation.
After finishing his talk with Russ, Axis took Kasha to meet the two Saibamen.
When she saw the two green Saibamen address Axis as their master, Kasha's expression turned awkward again.
"Axis, I think you need to learn about the Orks. These two are practically identical to Orks! Are you sure you didn't take some Ork cells and made these things?" Kasha asked.
It was one thing for their life forms to be similar, but why did even their color match perfectly?
Kasha couldn't even convince herself they weren't Orks, the reproduction method, the color, all of it was the same.
If only they'd say that classic line.
"WAAAGH!" Axis suddenly yelled.
"???" Kasha's mouth hung open, staring at Axis in disbelief.
"Well? Did I get it right?" Axis said, laughing heartily.
"WAAAGH!"
"WAAAGH!"
The two Saibamen imitated him, roaring out together just like their master.
That shout made them feel like their bodies were overflowing with power.
It was a truly exhilarating feeling!
Hearing those three idiots yelling, Kasha was left utterly flabbergasted.
"Hahahaha! Come on! I'm just kidding, don't take it so seriously," Axis said.
"That's not funny at all! Axis, Orks are a terrifying species.
"You studied under Chancellor Malcador, you should know about some of the most dangerous races in the galaxy.
"Orks are without a doubt the greatest calamity in the galaxy, nothing else even comes close.
"Once they arrive on a planet, it's the start of a disaster. Even if you kill them, their corpses will sprout spores, which in turn give rise to Gretchin, Squiggoths, and more green-skinned Orks.
"The largest Squiggoths can reach over ten meters in height, enough to stand toe-to-toe with a small Titan.
"Any planet suffering the plague is essentially beyond saving. The only way to wipe them out completely is with an Exterminatus order.
"And these creatures possess an extremely high capacity for evolution. War is their best catalyst; Orks' potential for war is absolutely terrifying.
"For example, on the first day, they might fight you with just rocks and sticks.
"On the second day, they'll be wielding primitive weapons. By the third day, they'll have developed gunpowder and hot weapons.
"By the fourth day, you'd better pray they haven't seen your explosives or other advanced weapons, and definitely don't let them get their hands on any of your gear.
"Otherwise, Orks can cobble together an extremely powerful weapon from a pile of junk," Kasha felt it was necessary to make Axis understand just how terrifying Orks were, she went on a spree of explanation, even adding a bit of her own experiences.
"I knnowww! Trust me, these definitely aren't Orks, and thay have absolutely nothing to do with them," Axis said helplessly.
These were Saibamen from the Dragon Ball universe, sure, both were green and had plant-like forms, but they really weren't the same species.
"They'd better not be. Axis, Orks are an extremely terrifying species. Don't ever try to research them. They're ancient. My father personally warned me about them," Kasha said.
She was genuinely afraid Axis might try to study such a horrifying species.
"I know! Don't worry! These two are completely different," Axis replied.
In the entire Warhammer universe, probably no one understood the origins of the Orks better than himself.
These guys were actually creations of the Old Ones, not a naturally evolved species.
And they were created for only one reason: to serve as a race of war, meant to fight against the Necrons and to defend against Warp entities like Enslavers.
But the Old Ones never managed to install the control system before they lost the War in Heaven, and the greenskins became independent, spreading their wild WAAAGH! across the galaxy.
In Trazyn the Infinite's vault, there was even an ancient Krork, a twelve-meter-tall Ork whose combat power could match a Primarch.
