Warhammer: Saiyan Adopted by the Wolf King

Chapter 67: Chapter 67: I Am the Emperor’s Daughter, The Warp Storm

Axis abruptly sat up, the throbbing pain of a hangover and muddled memories making it hard for him to get his bearings.

He glanced down at himself, then at Kasha lying beside him.

Golden hair spilled over her pillow as she lounged lazily, propping up her chin, a look of satisfaction on her face.

With a helpless sigh, Axis pressed his hand to his forehead, unable to make sense of Kasha's intentions behind all this.

Stealing his gene-seed? What a joke!

He didn't even have such a thing to begin with.

Even if she did get pregnant, any half-Saiyan child she bore wouldn't inherit his ki. At best, they'd be a stronger Custodian, but a Saiyan without ki wasn't all that impressive.

Axis wasn't even sure if transformations like the Great Ape or Super Saiyan would be possible without ki.

Without that energy, those forms might not work at all.

"Why did you do all this, Kasha?" Axis finally asked.

To be honest, Kasha was quite attractive by any conventional standards, her figure and skin nearly perfect. But her status as a psyker and as the Emperor's envoy always made Axis wary.

"Axis, I'm in a position where I have to seek your protection.

"You're strong, have a nice personality, and you give me a sense of security." Kasha sat up as she spoke, meeting Axis's eyes.

Axis rubbed his temples, he did not know what to make of those words.

The Saiyan constitution let him recover from alcohol quickly, but the memories of last night only became clearer with every second.

Kasha's bathrobe, that almost primal clash and... that damn tail!

"You grabbed my tail!" Axis's eyes widened in sudden realisation.

Kasha spread her hands innocently, a genuine smile of mirth spreading across her face.

"How was I supposed to know your weakness was so cute? One touch and you went all weak, completely at my mercy~"

Seriously, that really was the only major Saiyan weakness, but it could be trained away with effort.

Looks like he'd need to work on that going forward.

Maybe he'd start by hooking heavy objects with his tail or letting people grab it for extended periods to get rid of its sensitivity.

Axis took a deep breath, black eyes locking onto Kasha's. "Listen, Kasha, I don't really care what kind of trouble you are in to make you feel unsafe, which needs my protection, or if you do have some ulterior motive.

"But what you did here was too much.

"If you needed my help, you could have just come right out and asked.

"I'd've helped you, just for the fact that I've known you for three months."

Kasha remained silent for a second, her eyes casting downward, her gaze wavering for the first time after waking up.

She began quietly;

"I.. do have some secrets, but trust me, you're better off not knowing them right now. You're…not strong enough."

She had sought out Axis purely to find herself a powerful backer.

She absolutely did not want to be locked up in her father's dungeons ever again!

"I can't help with things that I'm ignoran of," Axis replied.

"Everyone has secrets, Axis. I can keep your secrets safe; I can even tell you mine. But can you keep mine for me?" Kasha asked, her eyes regaining the clariy.

"This is about the Emperor, isn't it?" Axis caught on immediately. The golden psychic power that day had given it away.

"I'm the Emperor's daughter! The daughter he imprisoned for an entire century." Kasha said at last.

"You're a Primarch?" Axis asked in slight shock.

Imprisoned for a century, but still looking like she was eighteen or nineteen…

Could this woman really be a female Primarch?

"I'm the Emperor's natural-born daughter, conceived with a woman, not one of those artificially created Primarchs.

"There's a fundamental difference between us, you need to understand that." Kasha said firmly.

"A naturally born daughter? Then why were you imprisoned? And how have you lived so long?" Axis pressed on.

"I inherited the Emperor's Perpetual gene. As long as no one kills me, I'll always look like this.

"As for why I was locked up… that's a secret I really can't tell you. , Axis. You're better off not knowing. It's for your own good." Kasha shook her head resolutely.

The whole thing about her and her mother scattering the Primarchs across the universe was an absolute Imperial secret!

It was also the Emperor's unbreakable bottom line. It was fine for Axis to know she was the Emperor's daughter.

But if he knew that she and her mother were responsible for casting the Primarchs to the far reaches of the galaxy, that would be bad news.

Axis narrowed his eyes.

A psyker, the Emperor's daughter, imprisoned by her own father.

Could she have colluded with Chaos or something?

No—that couldn't be it.

If she had, she would've been dead already, not released and placed at his side by the Emperor, and her psychic power wouldn't feel so..divine or pure.

The Emperor had zero tolerance for Chaos corruption.

Suddenly, Axis remembered something!

Axis vaguely remembered some lore from his past life. Once his mind focused on it, he was able to dig up the details.

The Emperor once had a relationship with a perpetual named Erda, who later betrayed him.

She had exiled the Primarchs, the Emperor's painstaking creations, into the Warp, scattering them throughout the galaxy.

This forced the Emperor, during the Great Crusade, to scour the stars in search of his lost sons, and that, in turn, led to many of the Primarchs' tragedies.

Could this girl have been involved?

If it had been anyone else, the Emperor would have erased them without hesitation.

But for his own daughter, he'd held onto that last shred of humanity.

She had been imprisoned in the dungeons until Axis appeared, and only then had Kasha been assigned to his side as a liaison officer.

Axis recalled that when the Custodians had been sent away, Kasha had seemed especially delighted.

She clearly didn't like the Custodians.

It must be the Custodians, specifically the Shadowkeepers, who had guarded her during her imprisonment beneath the dungeons of Holy Terra.

"I understand," Axis said with sigh after a while.

"Your secret is safe with me; I won't pry any further. I'll also keep your identity as the Emperor's daughter to myself," Axis said at last.

After all, he had already guessed most of her secret anyway.

"Thank you for understanding, Axis! Believe me, I'll become your greatest ally," Kasha breathed a sigh of relief, unknowingly loosening the grip on the bedsheet.

"Just stay by my side from now on," Axis replied, sighing once again.

He did want to talk about what she had done, but it seemed hardly the time for a talk like that.

Judging from the shaking of her hands just now, he could guess that she was really shaken by her imprisonment.

He'd have to find some time to talk to her about that, but not right now.

As for talk of marriage and the like, Axis felt it was a bit premature.

They hadn't known each other that long, just a few months, really.

Besides, both of them had long lifespans ahead; there was no rush.

Just as the two were talking, the Gloriana-class battleship suddenly blared a ship-wide announcement!

"Warp storm detected, minor. All mortal sailors and crew, remain in your quarters. No one is to leave during warp transit. All Space Marines, report to the corridors and eliminate any hostile entities."

When travelling through the Warp, there was always a chance of encountering a warp storm.

Even with the protection of a Geller Field, some daemons of the Warp could still slip aboard through it's gaps. It was just a fact of life in this world, impossible to fully prevent.

Incidents like this were rare, but this time, Axis and his group weren't so lucky.

On the cruiser he'd travelled on before, Axis had spent most of his time in his cabin or the training room.

That voyage had passed without a single warp storm, and so no daemons had slipped in.

Kasha looked at Axis, who did the same. They both nodded.

"Let's head out together. I'll be explaining a few things to you along the way," Kasha said as she quickly jumped out of the bed, gathering her scattered garbs.

This was the perfect opportunity to give Axis a crash course on Warp daemons, something her father had tasked her with.

Any hint of her earlier vulnerable self had entirely disappeared.

Axis took a second to admire the beauty of the woman.

She really was beautiful.

Axis stood up, donned his custom-fitted combat suit, which he usually wore onboard the ship.

It was tough enough and was comfortable, while his power armor was only for venturing outside.

When studying with Malcador in the Imperial Palace, Malcador had taught him the theory of warp travel.

But he'd never gone into detail about Warp daemons, just that some warp entities would occasionally slip onto a ship, and as long as they were destroyed, there'd be no problem.

Of course, as a transmigrator, Axis knew a lot more than most, like the existence of the Four Chaos Gods that even the Primarchs didn't fully understand.

'Come to think of it, would me having sex with Kasha attract the attention of Slaanesh?'

"Are you daydreaming right now?"

"Nop!"

"Get ready for combat. You're about to see the true denizens of the Warp, its natives, commonly known as Chaos Daemons," Kasha warned him.

"Let's go," Axis replied, nodding to Kasha, and the two of them stepped out of the cabin together.

By now, many of the Space Wolves were already armed and preparing defenses.

As soon as Axis appeared, they greeted him with nods of acknowledgment.

"Wolf Lord Axis! Why aren't you wearing your power armour? These warp creatures are incredibly dangerous," one of the Space Wolves asked.

Warp daemons could be quite powerful.

Without power armor, even a Space Marine risked being injured, or killed.

"It's fine. Even without my power armor, I can handle these warp entities.

"And don't worry, Kasha is a powerful psyker. We'll be alright," Axis reassured them.

Just then, a wave of violet-pink mist swept through the ship, and a woman's playful, lilting laughter echoed in everyone's ears.

"Hehehe!"

That laughter was charged with a pleasure and temptation that words could hardly describe.

The instant she heard it, Kasha frowned and raised her staff, unleashing a golden psychic barrier to protect the group.
