Warhammer 40k: Starting as a Rogue Trader

Chapter 100: Chapter 101: Space Wolves

Chapter 101: Space Wolves

"For Russ! For the Hour of the Wolf!"

Two Space Wolf Astartes were fighting fiercely in the corridors of the warship, their axes and boltguns slaughtering the enemies who had breached the vessel.

The Canis Helix within their genes made them like wild beasts. Their ferocious fighting style struck fear into the hearts of their enemies. What seemed like a berserker's method of combat was actually filled with combat wisdom and skill.

The Space Wolves, this group of warriors who resembled barbarians, were not mindless fools who only knew how to charge headfirst.

The coordination between the two of them easily slaughtered the approaching Dark Eldar.

However, the number of warriors from their Great Company was still too few.

Kabalite Warriors from the Dark Eldar had already breached this Space Wolf Strike Cruiser.

Even Astartes could not withstand the splinter weapons in their hands.

The toxins they carried could not be ignored even by the superhuman physique of an Astartes.

"Harald, my brother, there are too many enemies! The losses among the mortal crew are too great!"

"Grom, hold this section of the corridor! We have already entered the system of a Rogue Trader Dynasty here! We can rely on the Rogue Trader here to fight against these Dark Eldar!"

Harald was on the bridge, commanding the warship.

Behind their Strike Cruiser, the Howl of the Frost Wolf, several Dark Eldar warships were in hot pursuit.

A full eight faster Dark Eldar warships were continuously chasing them.

Two Torture-class light cruisers and six Corsair-class destroyers.

Relying on their speed advantage, a considerable number of Dark Eldar had already boarded their warship and were slaughtering the mortal crew within, attempting to kill the Space Wolves on board.

The remaining 15 Wolves on the Howl of the Frost Wolf were holding back those Dark Eldar.

Harald looked at the alarms flashing all over the warship, his expression extremely grim. The ship's power engines were already damaged, and even at conventional speed, it would still take some time to reach the Rogue Trader's planet.

And their warship might not hold out until then.

The dark lances from the Dark Eldar warships continuously tore at their vessel.

Scythe-vaned missiles constantly slammed into the ship's external armor.

A distress call had already been sent to that planet, but no reply had been received.

Harald couldn't be sure if the other party would come to their rescue. Perhaps the Rogue Trader Dynasty before them didn't want to suffer losses and would abandon them.

Seeing that the communicator still remained silent, Harald also picked up his battle-axe. A Space Wolf could die, but he must die in battle against the enemy.

And just as Harald was preparing for a final, desperate struggle, eight warships he had never seen before appeared out of nowhere, not far from the ship's course.

They simply appeared. By the time the augur array displayed the other party's signal, these warships were already nearby.

"Angels of the Emperor, great Astartes monks of the Space Wolves, this is the fleet of the Mongorte Dynasty! We have come in response to your call for aid! For the Emperor! For the Dynasty! Attack!"

The voice from the communicator let Harald know that the Rogue Trader here had decided to act after all.

But the size of the opposing warships looked too small! And he didn't have much confidence in this kind of planetary defense fleet.

"Only eight frigates?"

Eight frigate-sized Gorgons approached at high speed.

And behind them, the Stellar Pioneer, not yet fully repaired, also left the starport and headed this way.

The Dark Eldar also saw these Gorgons, but this group of xenos clearly didn't pay these small warships any mind.

The Dark Eldar fleet detached one light cruiser and four Corsair-class destroyers, which then charged towards the Gorgon fleet.

They believed this force was sufficient to destroy these small human sampans.

And just as the Dark Eldar warships were approaching, before they could even launch an attack, a terrifying energy reaction appeared from behind the Gorgon fleet.

The Dark Eldar warship didn't even have time to evade.

A beam of light that seemed to want to destroy everything grazed past the Gorgon formation and struck that Dark Eldar light cruiser.

The warship's shields only held for three seconds before being overloaded, and the energy that followed directly pierced through the entire warship's armor.

The Dark Eldar and their slaves inside the warship were either instantly vaporized or sucked into the void.

And those Dark Eldar killed by the main cannon of the Stellar Pioneer were completely annihilated, both physically and spiritually.

At least after they died, they wouldn't be taken away by Slaanesh. But for those thrown into the void, the moment they died, their souls were drawn by Slaanesh to Her demonic realm.

A single shot from the Stellar Pioneer's main cannon had almost directly destroyed this Dark Eldar warship.

This sudden scene left both the Dark Eldar and the Space Wolves unable to react to what had just happened.

"Sweet!"

Lucan also saw the tragic state of that Dark Eldar warship. If his own warship had taken a hit like that before, he probably would have been done for.

And without the light cruiser's fire suppression and ability to hold the line, all the Gorgons also pushed their speed to the maximum and pressed towards the remaining Dark Eldar.

Countless missile and laser arrays overloaded the Corsair-class ships' shields, and the Yamato Cannons on the Gorgons also began to charge.

Forcibly pleasing the machine spirits allowed the charge to complete in an instant.

One after another, plasma blasts slammed into the weak armor plating of the Corsair ships, instantly crippling them.

And the remaining Gorgons no longer engaged in long-range suppression. The Raiders began to prepare for boarding!

This was Lucan's most advantageous method of combat.

And seeing the reinforcements were so powerful, Harald knew they were saved, and even had a chance to turn the tables and annihilate these xenos!

"For Russ! Pin these xenos down! Don't let them retreat!"

The howl of the Wolves echoed throughout the warship. They no longer defended, but showed their most savage side to the xenos before them!

The remaining Dark Eldar, seeing the situation was not in their favor, began to attempt a retreat.

And there were still a large number of Kabalite Warriors left on the Space Wolves' warship, but the Dark Eldar who hadn't boarded didn't care about those warriors anymore.

The Dark Eldar were constantly filled with intrigue and backstabbing; they felt no psychological pressure at all about abandoning their comrades.

Perhaps after they returned, this Kabal would immediately be busy with power struggles, or perhaps because of their heavy losses, they would be swallowed up by other Kabals.

It had to be said, the speed of this group of Dark Eldar fleets was truly fast.

These warships were like enlarged Dark Eldar jetbikes; it was impossible for the Gorgons' speed to catch up, and their tactical jump was also on cooldown.

The fleet immediately gave up chasing the fleeing Dark Eldar and instead focused its strategic objective on supporting the Space Wolves.

The Dark Eldar within the Howl of the Frost Wolf, knowing they had been abandoned, became even more frenzied. They even stopped trying to capture prisoners and instead began their most insane indulgence.

Even if they were to die, they had to absorb enough suffering.

This was the madness before death.

They all knew how miserable their destination after death would be.

Lucan's Raiders began to board.

The eight Gorgons, hastily assembled, carried a total of 10,000 Raiders, as well as two Night Sentinels.

Lucan believed these forces were sufficient to deal with the enemies inside.

"Combat formation! The enemy this time is the Dark Eldar! These guys are fast, and their splinter weapons are very powerful! Once our armor is breached, the toxins will kill us quickly!

Don't count on the Medics then! For Lord Lucan! Kill all these xenos! We need no prisoners!"

One squad of Raiders after another began their breach. The two Night Sentinels acted together, seeking out the more difficult opponents.

The Raiders and the Dark Eldar quickly exchanged fire.

The firefight with the C-14s caused casualties on both sides.

However, the ceramite combat suits could withstand a few splinter rounds, while the light armor worn by the Dark Eldar for flexibility couldn't withstand the concentrated fire of the C-14s.

Seeing so many human soldiers clad in combat suits, these Dark Eldar were also dumbfounded.
