Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Bruce Gets Into a Fight
"It's possible, but you'll be disappointed!"
Marcus laughed. The Talon had turned to ashes in his hands, leaving only an electrum tooth mixed with a small amount of Dionysus Factor.
He took out the electrum tooth and tossed it onto the living room table, stunning Bruce and Alfred.
"This is..."
"This is the Talon's tooth. I incinerated the body, leaving only this special tooth behind."
Bruce picked up the electrum tooth curiously. There was a small metal coin embedded at the bottom.
"What coin is this? I've never seen anything like it before."
"That's the symbol of the Talons. Only teeth embedded with this metal belong to genuine Talons."
Marcus replied casually. The electrum tooth was a unique identifier of the Talons. After all, the electrum was essential for the Talons to maintain their abilities.
...
After a period of recovery, Bruce emerged from the shadow of his parents' deaths and returned to school.
However, his loss had isolated him there. No one seemed willing to talk to him.
"I heard Bruce's parents were shot and killed by robbers. It's so sad," said a girl, noticing Bruce's isolation and expressing sympathy for his situation.
"Hahaha, you mean that orphan without a father or mother? He deserves it!" A sturdy boy laughed mockingly.
The students at this school came from similar privileged backgrounds. With Bruce's parents dead, this boy felt confident enough to disregard Bruce's status.
In the past, Bruce might have only argued with such taunts. But under Marcus's training, he had mastered effective fighting skills.
Marcus had repeatedly emphasized during training that Bruce must strengthen his resolve—staying calm no matter how angry he became. Even if a fight occurred, it was best to handle it efficiently.
Now, though furious, Bruce forced himself to remain composed.
Since the boy had insulted his parents, Bruce would teach him a lesson. He took a quick, deceptive step forward and unexpectedly punched the classmate in the face.
The sudden attack instantly enraged the boy, who stood up and charged at Bruce, intending to overwhelm him with his larger build.
But how could a student who only knew wild haymakers compete with Bruce, who had been methodically trained by Marcus?
Bruce moved with precise footwork, constantly avoiding the student's wild swings while countering in the gaps between attacks.
It didn't take long for Bruce to knock his opponent to the ground—and this was with Bruce holding back, not using any weapons.
Had he been given even a wooden stick, he could have easily drawn blood. Such was the effectiveness of Marcus's training.
The fight was quickly discovered by school staff. The defeated boy held his bleeding nose, crying out in pain.
"What happened here?"
The teacher and principal rushed over. The students at this school were from wealthy families—incidents like this couldn't be tolerated.
Seeing the authority figures approaching, the injured boy quickly fell silent. It wasn't that he feared the teachers or principal, but as someone who prided himself on toughness, he wanted to maintain that image.
Bruce, however, didn't comply with the boy's wishes. When questioned by the principal and teacher, he recounted the entire situation truthfully.
The conflict between two students escalating to bloodshed gave the principal a headache.
Whether dealing with Bruce, heir to Wayne Enterprises, or this other boy, both families belonged to Gotham's elite. Both children had been born with silver spoons in their mouths.
Even though the Wayne family held higher status in Gotham, the principal couldn't afford to antagonize either family.
"Send them both to the infirmary for treatment, and notify their guardians!"
The principal could already imagine the storm he was about to face.
"No, I'll go by myself."
Bruce refused the teacher's assistance. The only injury on his body was a slight scrape on his hand, caused when he accidentally struck the boy near his badge.
Seeing Bruce decline help, the other boy also stubbornly refused the teacher's assistance, walking toward the infirmary while enduring his pain.
The phone suddenly rang at Wayne Manor. After answering, Alfred's expression turned to surprise.
It was the school calling to report that Bruce had been in a fight with a classmate. The principal was requesting his guardian to come to the school immediately.
Alfred found this difficult to believe. The young master who had always been well-behaved and obedient was now involved in a schoolyard fight.
"What happened, Alfu?"
Noticing Alfred's surprised expression, Marcus grew curious. The old butler rarely displayed such concern.
"Master Bruce got into a fight with someone! By the way, don't call me Alfu—call me Alfred!" Alfred headed toward the door. He needed to get to the school quickly. The caller had mentioned that Bruce and the other boy had been sent to the infirmary.
"Okay, Alfred!" Marcus shrugged and followed.
He was quite interested in Bruce's first fight. He wanted to know how well Bruce had applied his training.
Sitting in the car driven by Alfred, the two set off toward Bruce's school.
At the same time, in a small manor elsewhere in Gotham, another couple drove toward the school in a fury, completely disregarding pedestrian safety.
"No one can bully my son, no one!!!"
Angry screams emerged from their car, fading into the distance as they sped ahead.
When Alfred and Marcus arrived at the school, the principal was waiting at the entrance to greet them.
"Mr. Alfred, and this is...?"
Noticing Marcus beside Alfred, the principal inquired.
"This is Marcus, who is also Master Bruce's teacher."
After Alfred's introduction, Marcus shook hands with the principal, smiling warmly.
"I heard from Alfred that Bruce had a fight with a classmate, so I came to see what happened."
As they spoke, there was a commotion behind them. A woman in a fur coat carrying a delicate handbag stormed toward them. Behind her was a frowning man. Both looked extremely difficult to deal with.
"Where is the little bastard who beat my son?"
As soon as she reached the principal, the woman began squawking like a colorful, agitated hen, chattering nonstop.
Her tirade boiled down to one point: the student who beat her son was some illegitimate child whose mother was a tramp, and she would make them pay regardless of who they were.
Although her husband remained silent, his expression suggested he agreed entirely with his wife's sentiments.
"It's your turn to perform, Alfred."
Patting Alfred on the shoulder, Marcus folded his arms and watched with interest as Alfred prepared to engage with the angry couple.
The pair recognized Alfred. As the Wayne family butler, it was impossible not to know him. Consequently, their tone when addressing Alfred became noticeably more humble and polite.
