Chapter 12: The Birth Of Doctor Octopus
The three arrived at the abandoned factory in the old place and took off their hoods simultaneously. Peter spoke first: "When did you get the nano armor?"
"It's so f*****g cool!"
Norton thought to himself, 'You will have it in the future, so just use the current one honestly.'
"Is that the mechanical unicorn you showed me last time?" Gwen asked.
"Yes, this was developed by a friend. He asked me to try it out, and it seems to work well now."
"Oh, your friend is too cool..."
Peter originally wanted to admire it, but then he felt something was off and asked, "Wait, I obviously grew up with you. Why didn't I know you had such a friend?"
"Peter, have you forgotten? I went abroad once when I was in high school, and I met him back then." Norton explained, and what he said was true.
Hearing this, Peter nodded blankly. Norton patted him on the shoulder and joked, "The girl you saved just now looks pretty."
He suddenly felt Gwen pat him on the back. Norton added, "She suits you very well. Maybe it's time for you to move on from that relationship."
"I just broke up this morning," Peter rolled his eyes and then said, "I have to go to Dr. Otto's. After all, I asked Dr. Otto for a temporary leave after hearing the news here."
After Peter left, Gwen placed her hands on her hips and said in a challenging tone, "That girl is pretty, isn't she?"
She admitted that when Norton mentioned another girl was pretty, she felt a little uneasy, but she also knew that Norton didn't mean it that way. At the moment, she just wanted to observe his reaction.
Norton turned around, hugged Gwen, lowered his head, and kissed her. Gwen's eyes instantly turned into crescents with laughter. She was satisfied with Norton's current response.
After their lips parted, Gwen said, "The girl's name was Mary Jane, and she's in our band."
"Mary or Jane, I just want to go on a date with my dear Miss Gwen right now."
"Hmm~ Then I'll do what I can to satisfy you."
---
"Dr. Otto? Are you still there, Dr. Otto?"
"I'm here, Peter."
Otto emerged from a hidden corner. He wasn't wearing the usual white coat for experiments. Instead, he was clad in a green one-piece bodysuit, which displayed his bulky frame clearly, along with a large mechanical belt that Peter had never seen before.
"Dr. Otto, who is this?" Peter frowned, as Otto gave him an odd feeling, but he couldn't quite pinpoint it.
Suddenly, Peter noticed some black ash on Otto's body, a sign of an electrical injury.
"Dr. Otto, are you hurt?!"
Otto waved his hand, and a smile began to form on his face. He stared at Peter: "Our experiment was successful! Look!"
With those words, the device on Otto's waist started to extend four sharp mechanical tentacles.
Under Otto's control, the mechanical tentacles began to extend. They grabbed the wine on the table behind Peter, poured a glass into each of the other two glasses, and then handed the glasses to their hands. "Dr. Otto, you need to rest now. Your condition is not very good," Peter said. He had really wanted to congratulate Otto on his success, but now Otto's body was full of scars, which made him concerned. The smile on Otto's face was a little stiff. He hadn't expected his student to not congratulate him on his success and recognize his work. Although Peter cared about him, Otto was still a little disappointed. He forced a smile and said, "I will, thank you, Peter. Without you, I might not have been able to succeed in such a short time. I will take a good rest." Otto turned his back to Peter and continued, "Peter, it's time for you to go home. I also need to rest." Peter watched Otto's back in silence for a while and then left the laboratory with a sigh.
After Peter had been gone for a while, Otto's laboratory received an unexpected visitor. Several men in black suits came to Otto. One of the men stood up and said in a flat tone, "Dr. Otto, per Mr. Norman's decision, your laboratory will be sealed up in advance, and..." The man glanced at the mechanical tentacles on Otto's body and continued, "Recall all your works." "What did you say?! My experiment has been successful! Why do you want to do this again?!" Otto's four tentacles began to move menacingly, driven by his mood swings. The man's face changed color, but he finally calmed down and said, "It's useless to say anything; the order has already come down!" His words seemed to serve as an ultimatum, and Otto, full of anger, manipulated the mechanical tentacles to knock everyone to the ground. "Ah! You monster!" the man who had spoken finally yelled. Lying on the ground, he kept moving, trying to distance himself from Otto. But no matter how hard he struggled, he couldn't stop Otto's mechanical tentacles. Otto's tentacles pinched the man's head, lifted him into the air, and slowly pulled him in front of him. "It's you guys who forced me!!"
The entire incident in the laboratory was witnessed by one person: Norman, who was seriously injured and had returned to the Osborn Building. On his way back, he realized the strength of the red figure and a plan sprouted in his mind. Norman, lying on the hospital bed, watched Otto on TV surveillance, madly throwing those he regarded as victims, and began to laugh evilly. "It's only just getting started, little Spider-Mans."
