"…Capitan. The monsters are approaching." – said the elven soldier on top of the wall, as he spotted an army of monsters rushing towards the city gates.

"Any other monster attacks?" – asked the elven captain.

"No. There is only one attack coming from one direction, besides the enemy's main army." – said the elven mage.

"What about the enemy main army?" – asked the elven captain.

"They are about to attack, it doesn't look like they are planning on slowing down or stopping, the battle is around the corner." – said the elven mage.

"…"

"Keep the watch, just as the queen instructed." – said the elven captain.

"There may be more to this attack than meets the eye."

While the elven forces on the back were focused on the monsters, the main army of the earth dragon clan had reached the city, causing the all-out battle to instantly start between the two sides.

However, as the main battle at the frontlines started, the battle on the backlines was about to start as well.

"…"

"!"

"THEY ARE HERE!" – shouted the elven soldier as the army of the monsters finally appeared nearby and were already running straight towards the city gate.

"FIRE! ALL FORCES FIRE!" – shouted the elven captain as the elven mages as well as archers began firing from above, raining down projectiles at the creatures, killing and injuring countless monsters…. But not stopping them at all.

These monsters had completely gone berserk. They didn't cared if they were dying or they had lost parts of their bodies, these monsters just charged ahead. They completely lost their minds and the only thing they cared about was destruction.

But even so, the elves did not show any mercy as a second volley of projectiles rained down, resulting in the casualties on the monster's side to increase expediently, but again, they didn't cared.

The monsters reached the city gate and instantly started attacking it, damaging the gate and trying to get in.

However, once again the elves fired their volley, again and again…. And in the end, the army of monsters was annihilated.

"…"

(That is, it?) – though a confused elven captain as he stared down, seeing only countless corpses of dead monsters lying around.

(These monsters didn't feared death and they were full of energy, they even managed to damage the city gate somewhat, but in the end they got wiped out?)

(Was it really just a distraction?)

"Hey. Did the scouts reported anything?" – asked the elven captain.

"No. We have not received any form of contact from the scouts at all." – said the elven mage.

(No contact from the scouts as well?) – though the elven captain.

(So, they really didn't found anything?)

(…)

(Did they just wanted to make us paranoid?)

"…"

"Ah…. One monster is still up." – said the archer as it saw one of the injured monsters getting up.

"?"

"???"

"!?"

"HEY! SOMETHING IS WRONG!" – shouted the elven archer, alarming the elven captain, who quickly rushed to the archer's side to see what was going on.

"!?"

"The hell is this?!" – said the elven captain as he and the other elves saw the monster's corpse getting back up and starting to run towards the city gates once again.

"They are undeads?! How?!" - said the elven mage.

"!"

"It's the plague! These monsters were infected with that undead plague! Take them down and don't let even a single one of them inside!" – shouted the alarmed elven general.

(So that was their plan?! Cause monsters to go berserk and also infect them with that undead plague so they can try and infect us?)

(Fools! Do they really think it will work?!)

(Even if they bring out-)

"?"

The elven general saw something bright for a moment from the forest, catching the elf's attention, before moment several rocket flew across the battlefield, above the undead army of monsters, before then reaching the city gates and blowing it up.

"!?"

"WHAT WAS THAT?!" – shouted the elven captain in panic.

"Capitan! The gates! They have took an heavy hit!" – said the elven soldier.

"!?"

"They broke through!?" – asked scared elven captain.

"No! They are still standing, but the damage it took was severe! We can't let the gate suffer too many attacks like that!" – said the elven soldier.

"THEN DON'T LET THEM!" – shouted the elven capitan.

(The attack came from the forest…. But the scouts….. Oh shit, they are dead, aren't they?)

"Tch."

(What do we do? We need to send our soldiers to the forest?)

(But if we do, then we could risk letting infection spread inside the city!)

"!"

"Sir! There is a wave of undeads coming out of the forest! They are coming our way!" – said the elven archer as he noticed a second wave of undeads coming out of the forest and running towards the city.

"!?"

(Shit! They really are not letting us rest?!) – though nervous elven general.

(We have to deal with these monsters ASAP…. But there is also that attacked from the forest…. However, if we leave the city to deal with undeads and attackers….. No! The infection – But then…. FUCK!)

(What do I do?! What do I do?!)

"So let me get the plan straight." – Thanatos recalled her conversation between Maparapara and Phantasia.

"The plan is to use the booster to cause the monsters to go berserk and use the plague to turn them into undeads slash plague carriers."

"And then use these berserker monsters at the city…. You do know that this plan may not work?"

"I mean, by now you must have seen how tough their defenses are. So would even a single one of those infected monsters would get inside the city?"

"Nope. We don't think so." – said Phantasia.

"Eh? So, if you don't believe in this plan, then why are you even suggesting it?" – asked confused Thanatos.

"Because of the elves." – said Phantasia.

"The elves are on extremely high alert when it comes to their defenses." – said Maparapara.

"They will make sure that none of the infected monsters would get inside the city or touch anybody…. But what if we use that fact for our advantage?"

"?"

"…"

"Continue." – said Thanatos.

"It will be an two attacks at the same time." – said Phantasia as he took something out from the box.

"The elves will decide to be holed in their city, not letting even a single soldier outside, and they would 100% not let the infected beings get near them."

"The city itself has a lot of civilians, so if one civilian gets infected…. Then you can see where it would go."

"However, what if we were to use the fact of them being holed up in our advantage?"

"?"

"What is that?" – asked Thanatos as she stared at the large rocket launcher.

"A special something I was making for a long time. I was planning on using this against the dwarves, but the production of this thing took way longer than I had expected, not only that materials for this thing were pricy like hell and until we had defeated the dwarves, I've had finally obtained the key materials for this thing production."

"Drake Bastard."

"A special anty defense rocket launcher that launches special rockets."

"These rockets specializes in two things."

"The range as well as their ability to demolish defenses."

"These rockets are quite deadly…. But also, extremely costly to produce, so I have only 5 rockets to spare."

"The plan is simple." – said Maparapara.

"You hide in the forest, while the monsters will distract the elves."

"You fire the rockets, destroy the gate from afar."

"And let the undeads in the city, causing the chaos."

"But there are a few problems." – said Phantasia.

"The rocket launcher itself IS extremely powerful, but obviously it had many downsides."

"The first downside is the reload time as well as mana cost, simply put the rapid fire is physically impossible and you would need to wait some time before you can fire another rocket."

"And the second problem is the setup."

"The rocket launcher needs to be set up, like a mortal in order to be fired, meaning that you cannot move from your original spot."

"And the third problem is how costly and time-consuming creating single rocket is, meaning that the 5 rockets I give you is straight up all the rockets I have on me."

"This rocket launcher is one of my deadliest inventions, but also one of the most annoying ones….. However, this won't be the biggest problem."

"The biggest problem would be the elf's reaction."

"Yeb." – said Maparapara.

"The elves will have two options."

"Open up the gates and let out their soldiers, exposing them to the possible infection, but allowing them to go after you, resulting in the siege failing."

"Or they will try and play it safe by staying inside their castle."

"…"

"Wait, so this is straight up gamble." – said Thanatos.

"What are the odds? 50/50?"

"Well…. Yea. 50/50 seems like the highest chance we have…. But in the end, this is a gamble." – said Phantasia.

"If these guys try and risk it, they will win."

"If these guys try and play it safe, they will lose."

"It all depends how these guys will react."

"And honestly speaking, this is the only thing we can do."

"Yeb."

"We are currently entrusting the fate of this war to this simplest gamble."
