Chapter 35: Chapter 36: The weight of Ruin
The battlefield was chaos.
Screams rose into the air, mingling with the clash of steel and the hiss of lightning. Dust churned beneath the stampede of boots and hooves, and the scent of blood hung heavy on the wind. But in the heart of it all, there was only stillness.
Void God moved through the enemy ranks like a shadow given form — his blade an extension of that stillness. Voidfang sang in his hands, cutting through armor and flesh alike without resistance. Where his sword fell, the void followed — decay spreading, reality breaking, and men falling into nothingness.
A spear thrust toward his back — but Abyssal Insight whispered the attack's intent before it landed. Without turning, he twisted aside, the weapon missing him by inches. His free hand lashed out, fingers brushing the shaft — and Sword Entropy spread like rot. The spear crumbled to dust in the wielder's hands.
The mercenary's eyes went wide. Void God's blade found his throat a heartbeat later.
"Pull back!" one of the knights roared. "Regroup!"
But it was far too late for that.
Jin struck like a storm, his movements a blur of lightning and force. His gauntlets crackled with electric fury as he tore through the enemy line, his strikes sending men flying. The ground blackened and split with every step he took.
"Don't let them break!" another knight bellowed. "Hold your—"
The man's words ended in a strangled cry as Void God's blade pierced his chest.
HP: 18,000 → 0
The knight fell, and with him, their morale. The mercenaries wavered, fear flickering in their eyes. They had come expecting a simple conquest — not this. Not the void.
A horn sounded in the distance.
Reinforcements.
Void God turned toward the approaching dust cloud. More banners, more soldiers — but something else, too. He could feel it through the void's whispers: a presence. Stronger than these mercenaries, and far more dangerous.
Jin landed beside him, his breathing even despite the battle's fury. "You feel that?"
"I do."
"Think it's one of the lords?"
"Or worse."
The ground trembled. The air grew heavier. And from the dust cloud emerged a figure clad in black and gold armor, mounted on a beast that was no horse — but a thing of shadow and flame.
[Blight Reaver — Level 60]
HP: 150,000
Attack: 22,000
Defense: 12,500
The mercenaries fell silent as their champion approached. The Reaver's helm turned toward Void God, and though no words were spoken, the challenge was clear.
Jin cracked his knuckles. "This one's mine."
But Void God stepped forward. "No." His eyes never left the Reaver. "He's mine."
The beast beneath the Reaver snarled — and the creature charged.
Void God smiled. Let them come.
