Chapter 55- Just Pick Up The Hammers And Start To Refine
As soon as Grey took one more step, everyone held their breath. The sheer shock was so intense that they even forgot to breathe. Even the beautiful lady under the Golden leafed tree had a puzzled expression on her face. But you could see that inside her eyes were disbelief.
Grey was taking the one hundredth step! In all of history, those that could complete the one hundredth step could be counted in one hand. Except for a few exceptional people, nobody except for the old elders had seen the one hundredth step being taken.
And the last person who completed the steps and reached one hundred went out to do shocking things. But a few years ago, he suddenly vanished! No one knew what happened to him, but the academy seemed uncaring.
That last person went ahead and comprehended an emperor level cultivation art in the Qi accumulation realm. That person was on the road to being a true powerhouse and maybe even an emperor in the future.
Grey had already met that person. That person was Sky Ice Caster!
Yes, the last person who went ahead and walked a hundred steps in the talent test was Grey's very own Captain. The student was coming again to repeat history.
This was just too much to take in. The beautiful lady sucked in a deep breath. Her gaze was complicated as she looked at Grey who stood in the water a few feet from her.
Suddenly, Gret felt the silvery water turn cold. The Golden leafed tree turned silver and a bright golden light came up. Grey looked up in surprise as he got out of the silver lake on the other side.
He looked at the shocked expression on the beautiful lady's face and raised his eyebrows. The burning flame in his eyes seemed to calm down but if you observed closely, you would find that his murky grey eyes had a faint purple glow in them.
"En. Did I pass?"
Grey's words brought her back to the land of the living. She waved her hand a gentle force came and flung Grey away. But clearly it was much gentler. He disappeared in a silver flash of light as second later.
Grey could not hear it because he had left the talent test area in a flash of silver light. He took a glance at his teammates and nodded once. They were looking at him in utter shock, but when they saw his calm expression, their gazes turned calm as well and they nodded as well.
As Grey was teleported away, the calm look in their eyes remained. His earlier display had ignited a flame in their hearts. Much like the same way the captain's display had ignited a burning desire to be strong in his heart as well.
After Grey disappeared, Ange calmly walked over to the silver lake as her gaze lingered on the Golden leafed tree that let out a piercing gold light that had yet to die out. Brought to you by MV6LEMPY6R.
She did not wait for the beautiful woman to speak before her legs plunged into the cold silver water. And like that, she began to walk forward.

When Grey opened his eyes, he saw himself in another test room. But this room was dimly lit and had several doors. Various smells and sounds could be heard alll at once at the same time.
This was, the profession test! Grey could hear the sound of hammer against metal. The smell of fresh herbs being refined in a cauldron. It just dawned on him what he was supposed to do in this test.
But he didn't have time to ponder more on that as he was lifted into the air and rushed into a separate room.
Grey tried to struggles but he felt like he was trapped in a vice. The other party was so strong! As soon as the door closed, Grey was dropped down and he could finally see who abducted him.
It was a middle aged man with white hair and powerful strong arms which he used to carry Grey just now. He wore sky blue clothes and his eyes were warm and jolly. Unlike the usual cold and lack of emotion he normally felt from cultivators, this man had a warm kind of aura around him. But that didn't make him any less wary, because Grey couldn't feel the other party spirit energy fluctuations right now. It was like he was gazing at fog.
And when he tried to peer deeper with his Dragon eyes, he felt a powerful rumble go off in his head and he retreated two steps back while coughing out blood.
His face turned pale like a sheet. He couldn't even discern any spirit energy fluctuations from the other party. It was at least twenty times stronger that Tyler's.
As he thought of this, his body visibly shivered. The old manin front of him was the strongest person he had seen till date. Just trying to peer into his realm resulted in sustaining injuries.
When the old man saw Grey retreat, his face turned into a frown and he said softly.
"Don't try to do that again! I've restrained my aura to the least I possible can. But if you use your eyes again, it just might well explode! Don't do that again!" The old man said softly, but his voice was clear and reverberating. Grey felt his body tremble again.
The old man mumbled something under his breath and went into the corner of the room where a metal contraption lay. Because he was focusing on the old man, he had not had time to scan the room. So he was surprised when he saw the old man walk over to the smithing table and start to caclin metal.
Grey looked on in surprise, but he was still wary of the old man. After all, he was so powerful. He must be someone who holds a lofty position in Sky Mist academy. So what could he possibly want with him.
After a few minutes, a bright red metal came out. The old man seemed to disappear, and when he reappeared back Grey saw him grabbing his hand. He was too slow to react and when he did he saw himself in front of the orange glowing metal.
Before he could even say anything, the old man threw to him a hammer. Grey reacted and grabbed the hammer, but he was surprised with how much the hammer weigh. It weigh as least five thousand pounds. But because he was a cultivator, the hammer was not too heavy for him.
The old man similarly tilted his head and raised his eyebrow before he tossed another hammer at Grey. Grey had already prepared for this and caught the other hammer but felt it weigh even more than the first one. Exceeding five thousand pounds.
Grey stumbled as he tried to regain his balance. He then held the two hammers and viewed them with his Dragon's eyes. The hammer looked like a mace hammer and had a black red glow. Some strange symbols were scribbled on it but when he tried to read it, they seemed to dissipate. Even with Dragon's eyes, he couldn't discern those characters.
The old man just pointed at the orange metal that just came out from the furnace. Grey was still confused as he looked at the old man.
"Don't you know this is the forging test? Later one you'll go and attempt refining medicine. So try to refine this piece of metal to the best of your abilities." The old man said as if that would explain everything. He even beckoned for Grey to start since the metal was starting to cool down.
"But I don't know how to forge, or refine?" Grey responded. Till now he didn't know why the old man carried him here. He would try to avoid a fight as much as possible, because if they did fight, he stood with a minus ten percent chance against him.
Any Foundation Establishment expert who had formed at least one ball of spirit fire coud crush him like an ant. He wouldn't even be able to fight back, much more less this old man that had clearly surpassed Foundation Establishment. He did even need to move. Just breathing was enough to kill him.
"Are you dumb? Just pick up the hammers and start to refine! We want to see if you have any talent in it!" He shouted at Grey.
'What the fuck is this old guy talking about?' But he didn't dare to say that out loud, instead he held the hammers in both hand and stared at the piece of metal below.
Some time had passed so the metal had started to cool. With disbelief along with stubbornness, the old man put the metal back into the furnace. He told Grey to be prepared, the moment the metal was out he would have to start refining.
