Chapter 33- Night operation

"As you all know, the Shadow sect is the local champion in this area. They have always been a suspicious sect but lately they have started subduing scavenger camps. I don't know the reason why, but I can guess that they want to recruit more members. That can be good for us since they will not come with the intention of fighting. They're just here to show their strength and by doing so, subdue the camp." The Captain paused for a moment to glance at his companions and then continued.

"I bet that they would not be too many experts at the high levels of Qi accumulation, but who's to say for sure. Anyways, the plan is to bid their time before attacking. I have no plans of giving them the scavenger camp. And if I wanted to change the rule, I have more capable hands." The Captain lingered on Zuro for a few seconds before he averter his gaze.

"I know it may seem impossible to attack the Shadow sect and come out unscathed, but that's what I plan on doing. Not only that, I hope to destroy the Shadow sect and give their special technique... as a gift." The Captain's gaze softened as he rubbed his nose. Nostalgia could be seen in his eyes at that moment.

Everyone looked at the Captain in shock. He wanted to eliminate the Shadow sect as a gift. But to who!?

Grey's eyes widened, he knew how hard that would be. And their ancestor was an expert in the Foundation Establishment realm. A whole realm above each and every one of us. Even though the Captain broke through, it was still miniscule in the face of such tyrannical strength. Yet he planned on destroying the sect and taking their technique as a gift. That was pure madness.

'Caster, do you want to cast us to the pit of hell. You want to cast us over to death?'

This was a sect after all. Even if it was a low level one, it was still a sect. And one which had a Foundation Establishment expert. It was pure madness. Only someone mentally deranged and wanted to die would attampt that, yet the Captain said it with casualness.

Grey wanted to shout 'are you crazy?' But held himself back when he saw the strange glint in his eyes. This glint closely resembled the same glint he saw the day the Captain showed them the magic artifact. It was a glint of madness!

At this moment, Grey knew nothing they said could change his mind once that glint appeared. He was willing to risk it all. Everyone also thought so but no one argued with him. They just gave him a submittive gaze, as if what he said was possible.

Seeing all their gazes, the Captain nodded and said again.

"The convoy can reach here by noon, but they won't. Instead, they will wait a certain distance in a bid to oppress us with their mere presence. But that's fine. I estimate that it's tomorrow they will actually show signs of attacking. That will give us some time to plan." He leaned back in his chair.

So in the night, Zuro and Trogan sneakily left the scavenger camp and went towards the convoy ahead. The Captain's arrangement had been correct, they had stopped some certain distance away and let their blood stained flag do all the talking. They wanted the air to be tense before they came and barged in.

Unfortunately for them, the Captain wanted them to do this and give him an advantage.

Earlier,

"Zuro, Trogan you two will sneakily go to the convoy at night and determine their whole strength. The number of cultivators and if they have an elder in their company. If not, kill a few of the weak ones and come back quietly." The Captain said with his usual calm expression. Zuro nodded but Trogan was confused and asked.

"But if their weak, why don't we just kill them all if we can. We are all strong in our rights after all. Their numbers cannot surpass thirty and I bet when we strike, they'll be unprepared." Trogan voiced out his thoughts.

'Yeah, it's true.'

The Captain's companions were all stronger than normal cultivators. Trogan who was at the seventh level of Qi accumulation could fight toe to toe with someone at the ninth level. He can completely suppress someone at the eigth level. Everyone could do the same. Including Grey. They could all fight someone who was at least two levels above them.

"I know you can take care of it, but if we clear the whole lot of them in one night, their ancestor and elders would come for us in the morning. There's no doubt about it." The Captain shook his head. And with that said, everyone understood better now. The most up-to-date version is on M(VLEMPY)R.

"We will give them the false impression that after a long and bloodlust battle, we managed to eradicate the convoy but sustained heavy losses. Their sect elders and master may be angry but they can only be angry. I then bet that they would send another batch but this batch will have an elder with them just in case. By that time, Luo Freies, I and Grey would storm their sect in that timeframe. Am sure that the rest of you can keep them busy." The Captain licked his lips and looked at Zuro and Trogan.

Zuro was unfazed while Trogan just scratched his head.

"That's it?"

"Yes, that's about it. We will take care of their sect elders and sect master. You guys should hold the fort."

"But the distance from here to their sect is quite far. How will you..." Freies started but was stopped by the Captain.

"I've got that covered." The Captain spoke reassuredly. And with nothing else to say, they all left to prepare themselves.

***

"How do you feel about the night operation, Zuro?" Trogan whispered to his side as they sprinted towards the distant convoy. They footsteps were light and soundless.

And by wearing dark clothes, you could hardly see or notice them. Their aura's were completely suppressed. Unless one actually saw them, you wouldn't notice they were even there.

The starry sky illuminated the night and showed God's hand outstretched above the land like an awaiting disaster.

Trogan took a glance at God's hand and he gulped in his saliva. Looking at God's hand especially at night always made him very fearful. The giant hand was like the sign of death for all.
