Chapter 282 Appointment
"Are you telling me I'm going too?" Persephone asked incredulously as she stared wide-eyed at Anthony. She was sitting in one of the many parks that the academy offered to students of all faculties. Since she found out she literally moved up to the Pegasus class after the third event, she hadn't stopped smiling.
Although her smile wasn't the most beautiful—in fact, it was very sinister and much scarier when she wasn't smiling—it didn't matter to her in the slightest. She felt very proud of herself for being able to ascend so many classes from where she had been before.
She even held a small party that only Estefany attended. She felt a little resentful about this, but in the end, the two of them had a good time. Her beautiful green eyes looked affectionately at the girl sitting next to her with her mouth open, with her beautiful red hair in braids that shone in the sunlight.
Her pink eyes looked at Anthony with surprise as he informed them that both of them would be going with the Primitive class to the magical forest. This was actually a great opportunity for her to make another contract with one of the available animals she could summon. She had been looking for an opportunity, and this was undoubtedly the best one she had. Enjoy new chapters from My Virtual Library Empire
"Why were we invited?" Estefany asked cautiously, wanting to be sure there had been no mistake, but there was a small hope in her heart that it was indeed her. She looked at Anthony with anticipation. "I want to know too," Persephone said. Anthony looked at them with a blank stare; he wasn't very sure why they had been invited either.
He himself was surprised when Professor Athena informed him during his training hours. She had literally just told him to let them know they were invited and then left without saying another word.
Looking at the girls who were opposites of each other, he put on an indifferent smile. "I'm not very sure either, but you should come. Don't you want to know what will happen if you reject the professor's invitation?" He shuddered at the thought. The professor didn't like to be disobeyed at all.
She couldn't be blamed; she was the head of the empire's army, where she could order them to kill each other if she wanted. But the most terrifying thing was that the soldiers would follow her orders to the letter.
He shook his head to clear the strange thoughts and waited patiently for the girls to speak. At the same time, he was thinking about how he would make them change their minds if they refused the offer. "Then the professor will take it out on me," he thought internally. He didn't want to see the typical smile of his professor when she wanted to kill someone at that very moment.
Persephone lowered her head for a few seconds, thinking deeply about the invitation. She, for her part, wanted to conduct some experiments with dead bodies that the academy had somehow agreed to give her. She had thought they would reject her request, but she was wrong. She happily thanked the administration. After hesitating, her eyes shone—this could be her chance to rise to the Mid-Gold rank.
She looked at the white-haired boy and nodded. "I'll go."
Anthony also nodded. "Perfect." Although his words were calm, he internally sighed with relief. He looked at Estefany. She was staring at him intently. Noticing her gaze, he lowered his head shyly and nodded. "I'll go too," she said, her face turning a little red.
Anthony smiled with satisfaction, sat down, and chatted for a few minutes with the girls about the third event. "I heard you managed to kill a cult leader," Anthony commented while taking a sip of water from his bottle. Persephone puffed out her chest with pride, her eyes shining intensely. "I did, but I wasn't alone. You know I have limits," she said with a strange smile. Anthony looked at her.
"How many could you summon?" he asked with curiosity. As far as he knew, she could only summon a maximum of two. Persephone held up four fingers. "Four," she said proudly.
"The cult leader was very strong. He killed some students in the process, but he eventually got tired. After all, the students were throwing themselves at him like flies. It was a bit funny," she said. Estefany, who had remained silent, listening, looked at her strangely. Anthony was no exception.
Persephone's smile was very frightening. They chatted for a few more minutes until Anthony left.
On the way, his mind was racing. "The magical forest is the opposite of the Forest of the End. The first thing to keep in mind is that there are no corrupted animals; the only ones there are animals that have mutated with the ambient mana. Of course, that doesn't mean they aren't dangerous—some or most of them are very territorial and aggressive with anyone who dares enter their domains.
The second thing to keep in mind is that the forest is divided into zones. The third thing to keep in mind is that it's a forest where resources seem never to run out. There are even crystals that haven't been fully discovered yet. It's a very magical place with many opportunities."
Along the way, Anthony's red eyes looked around as the sun began to set behind the mountains, welcoming the twilight. But at this hour, the parks were more lively than ever. The reason is that at this hour, students are free from their classes and have time to go out with their friends or whatever. There were many couples holding hands and smiling affectionately.
The parks were the best place for lovers. The beautiful lights only added more ambiance to the place, with the benches perfectly placed on the sides. There was even a café, and that was where Anthony was headed.
After walking a little longer, he arrived at the establishment. It had two floors, and the lighting was much brighter in this place, as was the movement of the students. Outside, many were lining up to get in. This place was very well-known among the students. "Cafemax"—the name of the establishment was a bit strange.
Calmly passing by the line of students, he entered after the guard checked the ticket in Anthony's hand. He had reserved a table for two.
The doors opened, and his eyes looked inside. The wooden tables looked like shining crystals that glowed faintly. The staff wore waiter uniforms, and some aromatic plants gave the place a peaceful and calm atmosphere. Breathing deeply, Anthony looked affectionately at a girl sitting in the corner of the place. Her beautiful black hair fell freely down her back and covered her delicate face a little.
Her red eyes were a charm and a pleasure to look at. She had her slender hands on her cheeks as she waited patiently. Her curvaceous body was covered with a black dress that highlighted her beautiful skin.
Feeling the intense gaze from the front, her red eyes moved. Instantly, her cold, ice-like gaze changed, filled with love and obsession.
Anthony smiled and approached. "I hope I'm not late."
