Chapter 3 - Shameless
Chapter 3: Shameless
Yang Yu stayed in the café for over two hours, ordering several more cups of coffee. Ding Dian remained indifferent toward him, neither warm nor cold.
One of her coworkers, a beautiful woman named Ke’er, nudged her and teased, “Hey, that handsome guy by the window keeps staring at you. Looks like he’s into you.”
“Hmph! Plenty of guys are into me. Who does he think he is?” Ding Dian huffed, her tone full of pride. “I’m loyal to my Yu Fei and no one else.”
“Yeah, yeah, you and your undying loyalty.” Ke’er smirked. “If this were ancient times, they’d have to build you a chastity archway.”
Ding Dian chatted with Ke’er about various gossips while scrolling through her phone. Every now and then, she stole a glance at Yang Yu.
Truth be told, she didn’t need Ke’er to tell her—she already knew this guy was interested in her.
Time passed quickly, and soon it was time for Ding Dian to get off work.
As she passed by Yang Yu’s table, she said, “Don’t you have anything better to do? Sitting here all afternoon—do you even have a job?”
She didn’t wait for a reply and walked straight out.
Yang Yu immediately got up and followed her. “Hey, beautiful, where are you headed? I can give you a ride.” He grinned as he walked beside her.
He casually observed Ding Dian’s figure and thought, Damn, what a body…
Lost in thought, he followed her closely when, all of a sudden, she stopped and turned around.
“Hey, why are you follo—ah!”
Before she could finish, she let out a startled scream.
Yang Yu had bumped straight into her. Taking full advantage of the moment, he wrapped his arms around her.
Of course, he did it on purpose. With his newly enhanced physique, his reflexes were far superior to those of an average person. If he hadn’t meant to, there was no way he would have crashed into her.
Ding Dian instinctively tried to step back, only to realize this shameless guy had actually grabbed hold of her.
“Hey! If you don’t let go, I’m going to scream ‘pervert’!” Her cheeks flushed red.
Yang Yu smirked. She’s not even mad? There’s hope.
“I’ll let go if you tell me your name. Deal?” His hands slowly slid downward from her shoulders.
“I’m Ding Dian! Now let go, or I’ll seriously get angry!”
Knowing when to stop, Yang Yu released her.
“Where are you headed? Let me give you a lift.”
“Hmph! No need.”
Ding Dian shot him a glare, turned on her heels, and walked toward the roadside, raising a hand to hail a taxi.
Yang Yu quickly stepped forward, pulled out a thick stack of cash, and tossed seven or eight bills to the taxi driver with a wave of his hand.
The driver got the hint, nodded, and sped off immediately.
“You… you… Ugh! I’m not getting in your car, no matter how much money you throw around!” Ding Dian fumed, stomping her foot in frustration.
One by one, Yang Yu paid off every taxi that stopped. In a matter of minutes, he had sent away over ten taxis.
Ding Dian clenched her teeth in anger.
“I’ve never seen someone so shameless in my life!” she huffed.
Yang Yu chuckled. “Thanks for the compliment.”
His smug, rich-and-arrogant attitude left Ding Dian completely helpless.
“Hmph! Fine! You win. Let’s go.”
In the end, she gave in. She was exhausted after a long day at work and had no energy to keep arguing. She just wanted to go home and rest.
Trying to outplay me? You’re still too green. Yang Yu smirked triumphantly.
“Great! Wait right here—I’ll go get my car.”
He turned and jogged toward the parking lot.
Just as he reached the café entrance, he spotted a taxi pulling up beside Ding Dian.
Without hesitation, she jumped into the car and rolled down the window, waving at him with a victorious grin.
“Haha! Thought you could outsmart me? Hmph! No matter how cunning you are, you still have to drink my foot-washing water!” she gloated from the backseat.
Yang Yu: “…”
He watched in disbelief as the taxi drove off.
Of all the luck…
Oh well, no rush. He had plenty of time.
