Chapter 113: This Woman Is Too Forward
“How’s Luo Zixuan’s arm?” Chen Luo kept up with news regarding Luo Zixuan’s condition, naturally hoping it would be severe. The greater the severity, the angrier Luo Mingde would become, increasing the pressure on Ye Chen.
“It’s been amputated,” Bai Meixiang updated Chen Luo.
Amputation was a significant blow, exactly as Chen Luo had speculated. Upon seeing Luo Zixuan’s injury, he had anticipated it might lead to amputation. Although Ye Chen had held back from killing Luo Zixuan, his actions were far from lenient.
“Luo Mingde has lost it. If not for the Li and Wang families jointly protecting Ye Chen, he’d have been arrested by now,” she informed.
“They’ve saved Ye Chen again, really courting death,” Chen Luo grew increasingly irritated with the two families.
Did they truly have a death wish?
“Keep monitoring their situation. If an opportunity arises, don’t forget to trouble those two families.”
The deep-rooted Li and Wang families were not easily shaken by ordinary attacks, unable to truly harm them. Dealing with the Li family would require Gu Wanyu’s cooperation.
After ending the video call with Bai Meixiang, Chen Luo noticed a message from Gu Wanyu on WeChat.
He replied with an “okay” and then sent over the details for the meeting place. It was set at the Rose Bar, scheduled for 7:00 pm.
“You really do have a connection with that woman,” Zhao Yingxuan said as she hugged Chen Luo from behind. “Aren’t you worried that Xiao Qingxue will get jealous?”
“It sounds like you’re the one who’s jealous,” Chen Luo said, pulling Zhao Yingxuan into his embrace.
“I am a bit jealous. How could I not be? Li Zhong’s wife is indeed beautiful. It’s natural for you to find her attractive. But you better not forget about me once you have her.”
“I won’t,” Chen Luo reassured her, giving Zhao Yingxuan a kiss. He then shared his plan with her. His interest in Gu Wanyu wasn’t just about her beauty. He had other motives.
“Do you really think Gu Wanyu will help you against the Li family? It seems like a tall order.”
“Trust in my abilities,” Chen Luo said confidently.
Checking the time, Chen Luo noted they still had over three hours until 7:00 pm, plenty of time. He then swept Zhao Yingxuan off her feet and headed toward the bedroom.
Zhao Yingxuan let out a surprised yelp and waved at Elsa for help, indicating she needed someone to share the load.
Xiao Qingxue was not home, occupied with Yongqiang Group’s demands and also helping manage the companies Chen Luo had tasked her with. Of course, the companies registered under Chen Luo’s name were not solely Xiao Qingxue’s responsibility. Zhao Yingxuan and Xiao Qingxue took turns managing them.
This arrangement was at Zhao Yingxuan’s insistence, claiming she did not trust Xiao Qingxue fully.

When Chen Luo arrived at the Rose Bar precisely at 7:00 pm, he headed directly to the same private room where Gu Wanyu was already waiting.
“Why aren’t you in that waiter’s uniform today?” There was a hint of sarcasm in Gu Wanyu’s voice.
“Miss Gu, are you upset that I misled you?” Chen Luo approached and rested his hand on her shoulder from behind the couch she was seated on. Gu Wanyu made no move to stop him. This was Chen Luo’s way of testing the waters, and noticing her lack of resistance, he couldn’t help but smile inwardly.
“What exactly do you want from me?” Gu Wanyu asked after taking a deep breath.
“What if I say it’s because I like you? Would you believe that?”
Chen Luo leaned in closer, his head nestling against Gu Wanyu’s neck, causing her fair skin to blush pink. If one paid close attention, they could hear Gu Wanyu’s heartbeat accelerate, a response she was acutely aware of due to Chen Luo’s breaths.
“I… I believe you,” she responded, lifting her hand to gently touch Chen Luo’s cheek. Even if she suspected his words might be insincere, she chose to believe him.
This was, including the wedding encounter, likely their third meeting. Their interactions hadn’t been frequent, yet Gu Wanyu found herself unable to stop thinking about Chen Luo. She even dreamt of him the previous night, a dream filled with longing.
She pondered whether it was due to long-suppressed feelings or if it was genuinely love at first sight.
Despite their brief interactions, she found herself yearning to see him again.
While at home, Gu Wanyu couldn’t stop thinking about Chen Luo. Her main reason for inviting Chen Luo out wasn’t to confront him but rather because she longed to see him. This desire only intensified upon meeting him again.
Turning around, Gu Wanyu wrapped her arms around Chen Luo, drawing herself closer to him gently.
“Tonight, it’s just me. I want to indulge a bit,” she confessed.
Normally, she would be accompanied by bodyguards to the bar, but today, she intentionally left them behind. Those bodyguards, while ensuring her safety, also acted as surveillants on Li Zhong’s behalf.
“I’ll fulfill your wish,” Chen Luo responded, not one to reject Gu Wanyu’s initiative. Although this development wasn’t initially part of his plan, he knew plans could be adaptable. Chen Luo found winning Gu Wanyu over seemed easier now, given her forwardness.
‘Perhaps this is thanks to my enhanced allure,’ he thought to himself.
Chen Luo was already notably handsome and charismatic. Today, before heading to the bar, he specifically traded with the system, spending three hundred million to boost his charm further. While Chen Luo noticed no major change in himself, barely discernible even in the mirror, through the eyes of women, there was an added layer of fatal attraction to him.
Gu Wanyu was composed when she arrived, but she soon became somewhat overwhelmed. Naturally, after years of deprivation, her eagerness got the better of her, leading her to overindulge.
At this moment, Gu Wanyu shone even brighter, her allure climbing to a new peak.
“Thank you for showing me what it truly means to be a woman,” Gu Wanyu said, fully resting in Chen Luo’s embrace, savoring the scent of him.
Chen Luo realized that this woman was indeed quite passionate. It seemed that while he might desire her, she possibly craved him even more.
Gu Wanyu gazed at Chen Luo with a deep longing. Initially, her plan was just to experience one unforgettable night with Chen Luo. Her status didn’t permit her to harbor grander dreams, for exposure could mean a fate worse than death. Yet, humans are inherently greedy, always yearning for more once they’ve had a taste, regardless of the potential consequences, unable to curb their desires.
“How wonderful it would be to stay with you forever. I’d be willing to give up everything just to be with you.”
Despite Gu Wanyu’s current life of luxury, where money and status were in abundance, these were not what she yearned for. Sadly, even if she was ready to sacrifice it all, being with Chen Luo wasn’t straightforward. Even if she was willing, was Chen Luo?
She was more than a decade older than Chen Luo. Would he disdain her for it? Although she had always been confident in her charm, Gu Wanyu now found her confidence waning, a common plight of being haunted by doubts.
