Vengeance So Sweet

Chapter 5: A Cover Up

Author's Point of View

Amanda sat opposite two men in black. There was the man she hired to get rid of Cynthia's dead body, and she wanted to hire the same man to get rid of Anna, too. Once she got rid of Anna, her life was going to be peaceful.

"All my men had their way with her, and they made sure she would not wake up. They dumped her dead body far away, and for that, you owe me five million," the leader of the goons said, his stern glare staring at Amanda, who smirked.

She conspired with the goons to eliminate Cynthia and was satisfied with their actions.

"Good job. Now I want you to get rid of her sister, Anna Martin. This is her picture," Amanda said, pushing the picture of Anna on the table. One goon took the picture, and a smirk stretched on his lips.

"Your job will be done, but you will have to pay me another five million," the goon said, causing a grin to spread across Amanda's face.

"Well, money is not a problem. Once you finish your job, you will get all your money. Just make sure Victor doesn't find out about this," Amanda said, amusement dancing across her face. Victor doesn't know what happened to Cynthia last night, and she wants to keep it that way. He only knew that he had shot her, but he didn't know the rest.

"If you dare not give me my money, I will kill you. Do you understand?" the goon asked, and Amanda nodded.

"Just get her out of the house, and then your job will be done," the goon said, and Amanda nodded as she rose off the small chair and started making her way out of the room.

Meanwhile, Anna's eyes widened in horror as she watched the video on her phone. She stood there like a statue, a shockwave ran through her, leaving her mind reeling. She didn't know who sent this video and why, but the message below stated that her life was in danger.

"Run for your life and don't worry about your sister. She is safe, but they want you dead!"

The message read; tears streamed down her face as she looked at Victor shooting her sister, and Amanda was smirking, sitting on the bed not dressed. A stabbing ache pierced her heart, leaving her numb.

Someone betrayed her innocent sister;

Anna didn't know who sent her this message and why, but one thing was clear: her sister was with the person who sent it. But what she didn't know was whether she was dead or alive. No one would survive such a bullet. Anna burst into sobs as she rushed to her room.

Her sobs filled the room as she pressed the button on the safe pin. She pressed the numbers, and she opened it. She grabbed the bag from her closet, filled it with all the money, closed the bag, changed her clothes into jeans and a jacket, tied her hair into a bun, and wore a cap and glasses. Grabbing her phone and the pictures of her and Cynthia along with her passport and ID, she started making her way to the kitchen. She walked over to the drawer and grabbed a match and a bottle of whiskey.

This mansion was the reason why they killed Cynthia because it was worth billions. If they could get it, they would be the richest people in the world, including all their business. Anna couldn't let them kill her sister and get this mansion. She would rather set it on fire than let them get it.

They poured the alcohol on the couch and everywhere in the house. She lit the match, tears streaming down her face as she threw it on the ground and rushed out of the mansion, letting it burn to ashes.

With that, she ran out of the back gate where no one was going to find her. As she reached the highway, she stopped a taxi and got inside. Tears poured down her face as she sobbed uncontrollably, her whole body trembling with grief.

Cynthia was a nice person; she was the only person she had. Her sister loved her more than anything on this planet, and she was snatched away from her. She had always known that Amanda was not a good person, but she didn't expect this from Victor. He was the most cruel person she had ever met.

"I will come back, and you will pay for what you've done to my sister. That's a promise!" Anna murmured, more tears welling up in her eyes. She will come back, and Amanda and Victor will regret ever being born.

"Ma'am, where are you going?" the driver asked, snapping her out of her daze.

"To the airport," Anna said quietly, and the driver nodded.

By the time Amanda reached the mansion, her eyes widened in horror at the scene that welcomed her. The whole mansion was reduced to ashes, and the firefighters were trying to stop the fire, but nothing was working. The police were all over the place, people surrounded the whole place, and the media also. She couldn't believe her eyes. This mansion was everything she wanted, and now it was reduced to ashes. How will she sell it now?

But if the mansion was burning to ashes, does this mean that Anna was inside?

"Damn it!" Amanda cursed; her jawline hardened, and her chest constricted with rage. What was the point of Anna dying if the mansion was reduced to ashes?

But wait, this would be a perfect cover-up for both Cynthia and Anna's death, and no one would suspect her and Victor. But still, she wanted to sell this mansion, and now she can't. Her plan was ruined. How will she get the ten million to pay for those guns? She didn't want to take money from the hotel yet because it might make them bankrupt. Amanda ran her hands through her hair to bear the pressure and anger.
