Vampire Summoner's Rebirth: Summoning The Vampire Queen At The Start

Chapter 1414: The New King Of Elves

-----

"From today onwards, Elfriedden, you're crowned as King of the Elves."

Yggdrasil created a crown made of her divine wood, decorated with spirit crystals of red, blue, yellow, and green colors, and beautifully adorned with leaves and flowers, and placed it over Elfriedden's blue hair.

Shocked by the events happening one after another, Elfriedden was left almost paralyzed, being crowned out of nowhere by his own Goddess wasn't how he expected to rise to the throne.

Even less so quickly at that… But well, I planned for it to happen this way, so he better be grateful once this is over.

Well, it wasn't just entirely my idea, Rosenheim, who nodded by his side, was also happy things turned as we planned.

Before this entire event started, we ha a conversation with her and Yggdrasil, to create all of this to lead to people seeing Elfriedden as their only savior, choosing him as their King by their own vote.

Although this was a bit manipulative, Yggdrasil agreed, seeing in Elfriedden and Rosenheim as the saviors that could finally create a bright future for this country.

"E-Everyone… Thank you!" Elfriedden was almost in tears. "I never… thought things would go this way! This is rather quick, but I promise I will do everything I can and go beyond for this country. With Rosenheim here, we will make sure this country remains strong and continues growing into a brighter future."

"Goddess Yggdrasil herself has decided to help as well, isn't that right?" Rosenheim nodded, glancing at the goddess, who suddenly looked slightly nervous.

"E-Eh? I did…?" she looked confused, she often took a more neutral stance in this continent but right now she didn't have any other option than to back their political agendas. "Ah, yes! Of course, I will help them." After she noticed the stares of so many people, she agreed at the end.

As the people celebrated, I smiled, drinking some wine, my first in this life. I suppose I can indulge in alcohol now that I have grown into an adult, although it doesn't work on me whatsoever.

"They did it Blake!" Erika said happily. "Now they'll be King and Queen! Isn't that nice?"

"Yeah," I nodded.

"Things went faster than I imagined…" Elizabeth commented. "But I suppose this is for the best."

"Yeah…" I looked elsewhere.

The two then looked at me with more attention.

"Blake? What's wrong?" Erika asked.

"You don't see too focused…" Elizabeth muttered. "Don't tell me that wine has gotten to you?"

"No…" I said. "I'm fine, don't worry."

The feast continued throughout the entire night until early in the morning, where people finally walked back home for the most part.

Erika and Elizabeth were sleeping on our shared bed, while I went outside to meditate, and it was there that I saw Eric, looking at the city from the manor's balcony.

"Eric."

I called for him while walking to his side, he had already noticed me coming, but he still seemed surprised.

"Blake? I thought…"

"I couldn't sleep either. How are you?"

"…Well, can't say I'm fine."

"I can tell."

"Is it that obvious?"

"Yeah."

"Damn it… I don't know how to even face Alberta now."

"Because of Fafnir's origins?"

"Yeah… I guess you kind of already guessed that much, huh?"

"It wouldn't be that hard to do so."

He sighed, groaning painfully as he looked down at the floor beneath the balcony.

"What am I supposed to do now? My ancestor was… Fafnir was my own blood? How can I even…"

I suppose he's conflicted after learning Fafnir was part of his family.

I did guess as much and was worried about my friend too.

He didn't say anything back then, and didn't even seem bothered by it.

But I could tell he was going through a lot.

"How can you even what? Keep on living? Like you've always done so, Eric."

"But are you sure?! Fafnir… he killed so many, how can our family ever…"

"You and your family don't have to take responsibility for anything he did. You're not to blame either, as you never knew he even existed to begin with."

"But that book, the journal… I should've guessed this earlier…!"

"I don't think you could have done it either way, Eric. This wasn't something in your control, nor in your power to help. It took us years to get to this point after all."

"…Right. But still… it makes me frustrated, I wish I could've talked with him, or known him better… But I know he wouldn't have even listened, or he might've gotten even angrier if he knew there was someone from his actual family alive."

"He would have probably gotten angrier, yes."

"…What am I supposed to do now?"

"Eric, if you only think of what could have been, you'll never be able to do anything on your own. Concentrate on what you have right now, those you love and care for, and your own goals and dreams."

"…"

He gripped his fists tightly for a moment, he still seemed conflicted, but at the end, he agreed with me.

"Yeah… I know… I just am frustrated, that's all."

"Go with Alberta, I am sure she needs you. It might even be about time to propose to her."

"Eh?! Are you crazy? We're still so young…"

"Well, that didn't stop me."

"You and the girls are on another level entirely; I can't just do what you did…!"

"Why, you lack courage?"

"…T-That's not it! You know she's the princess of a Kingdom? I can't just go around proposing to her willy-nilly…"

"Why not?"

"Because…"

"You think you're not good enough? Hahah, don't make her wait too long, or she'll think you don't truly love her. Women can be like this, Eric. Seize the opportunity while you can. Don't wait for too long… I'm speaking with experience there. Once you realize you could've done something earlier, it might be too late. And unlike me, who was lucky to be given a second chance, you might not get it, friend."

"Second chance?"

Eric was left confused as I walked away, I knew he would figure things on his own, he had always been a smart young man.

I had someone else to meet after all.
