Chapter 1407: Yggdrasil
-----
"The Yggdrasil Tree… It's finally back."
I glanced at the tree in silence, feeling a mix of many emotions, but most of all, I felt relieved that this was over. I had grown sufficiently strong to make it possible, but without everyone else, it wouldn't have been doable.
Fighting Fafnir while also trying to revive Yggdrasil, defending from his children, and also taking care of the other two cities that could've served as reinforcements… Alone, it would have been impossible.
This is why friends, comrades, and allies are needed, it's impossible to do many things on my own no matter how strong I can become, even with Rainbow Star acting as a secondary body, it's impossible.
There's things that, no matter how hard we try, are impossible on our own, the only way to work alone is to simply walk a lonely path while destroying any problem, without caring about anything else but your own life.
I once lived a life like that, but even then, I ended up being surrounded by many people that I became attached to, my vampire family.
Even though I never admitted it, even though I never seemed to have changed, their presence did change me, and now, as I live a second life as a human, I've grown to appreciate and love all these things I never truly noticed back then.
"Yeah, it's finally back! It took us quite a while, but… it's done! Without Elizabeth's help it would have been impossible though, she was amazing." Erika said with a cute smile, hugging my arm while resting her head on my shoulder. "Now we can finally take it easy and have some vacations, right?"
"I suppose we deserve some rest, yes," I nodded with a giggle. "Thank you for helping as well, Elizabeth."
"Oh, no, I did help but without Erika's abilities, even with my healing, Yggdrasil would have not made it," Elizabeth said. "I suppose… it was a team effort! Also your machines helped as well, Blake. Without them, Yggdrasil wouldn't have been able to remain stable, as they constantly injected her with Spiritual Energies necessary for her to survive through the ordeal."
"Yeah, I suppose it was indeed a team effort, it was the first time we ever did surgery on a tree…" I smiled lightly, glancing at the tree. "Now look at her, overflowing with divine spiritual power, the entire continent is being healed."
"I can feel it; nature is truly blossoming everywhere now~!" Erika smiled happily. "Hehehe! We won! We won, everyone!"
Erika quickly let go of my arm as she got happy once more, jumping around and celebrating with everyone else by our side, my vampires, and also my friends, which I had teleported here like five minutes ago.
"I know! I'm so happy!" Alberta said with a smile as she was hugged by Erika.
"Let's go! We need a big feast to celebrate, right Erika?!" Chris asked.
"Hell yeah!" Erika nodded. "We're heroes now, for real! Heroes of the world, heheh!"
"You two are really so eager, calm down a little…" Eric smiled a bit. "Ah, I guess that's impossible, it's Erika and Chris we're talking about.
"Indeed," I nodded, smiling while closing my eyes for a moment, and then opening them again to glance at Elizabeth. "Thank you again for helping, your powers were the key."
"You praise me too much, you're the one that did the real heavy lifting here… Fafnir ended being even more formidable than we imagined… I wish I could've helped! If only I could've been faster…" Elizabeth sighed.
"You did plenty enough," I said, caressing her beautiful face. "Fafnir was my responsibility. And I took care of that."
"I suppose…" Elizabeth said. "You've done so well, you need a reward, Blake~"
She quickly approached her lips to mine, kissing me.
I've kissed her many times, but somehow, this kiss felt slightly different, carrying even more love.
It left me slightly speechless.
"What's wrong? We've kissed a lot before…" she wondered, teasing me.
"I know… I just… I'm happy," I admitted it. "I'm happy you love me, Elizabeth… is it weird?"
"Eh? Of course not…" Elizabeth giggled a little. "It's completely normal… I'm happy you love me as well~"
As I held her hands, I kissed her more, hugging her and feeling her warmth on my body.
Her lips were so soft, and her body so delicate, I was overwhelmed by her beauty, charm, and purity.
She was so beautiful, a treasure among treasures.
"So…" Elizabeth whispered to me. "About what you talked with Erika…"
"What?" I wondered.
"You know what I mean…" Elizabeth smiled at me teasingly. "Y-You're not doing it only with her right? I also deserve a turn… alone, just the two of us, we can take another night if you want."
"…Huh?" I felt slightly clueless. "What… what do you mean?"
"Geez, Blake…" she blushed. "I am a lady, you know how embarrassing is for me to say these things? You know exactly what I'm talking about!"
"…Ah," and then I realized what she meant. "That's… we're still too young, let's wait a few more years."
"A few more years?! We go through life and death situations every year now…! And we are all over eighteen now, so no excuses!" Elizabeth said, grabbing my hand. "Also we're getting married!"
"…Married? Wait… so we're eighteen already? I completely lost count… time sure flies," I realized. "I suppose… I guess I need to take responsibility for you and Erika then… Eleanora too."
"S-So…?" Elizabeth blushed, as I quickly took a ring from my inventory, offering it to her and gently putting it on her finger, while she started gasping, her eyes becoming emotional.
"I might as well do it now… Would you marry me, Elizabeth?"
"A-Ahh…! I-I didn't…! Right now?! Ah…! But I was the one that…! Yes! Yes please!"
Elizabeth started crying while smiling, taking the ring and then hugging me tightly, kissing my entire face.
"I'm so happy Blake! Let's build a family together…!"
"Of course… Let's do that, Elizabeth."
As this happened, I noticed everyone else watching the scene in disbelief… Ah, I suppose I really did it in the middle of everyone.
"H-He really proposed to her just like that?!" Eric asked.
"W-Wow…" Alberta blushed, covering her mouth in embarrassment, glancing at Eric with expectation.
"…Eh?" Eric quickly realized he might have to compromise at this point too, Alberta's expectations were now much bigger.
