Unlock Kamen Riders in Douluo's Way

Chapter 30: Chapter 30

In Shrek Academy, the graduation requirements differ between the advanced and elementary departments. The advanced department demands higher standards: students must be at least 30 years old and have cultivated to the five-ring Spirit King realm. The elementary department, however, focuses solely on cultivation, requiring students to reach the four-ring Spirit Ancestor realm, regardless of age. These, however, are merely the minimum requirements; not every student manages to meet them.

For students who fall short of these basic conditions, there's an alternative: accumulating credits. These credits can be earned in various ways. Some students produce verifiable theoretical papers, benefiting from Yu Xiaogang's extensive knowledge. Others participate in soul fighting competitions like the Martial Soul Saint Association, earning more credits with higher rankings. Students in the advanced department can also obtain credits by completing tasks for registered guilds.

Graduation isn't the only conditional aspect; admission also comes with its own set of requirements. Shrek Academy in this world diverges from the Shrek Academy of the main Douluo timeline. Here, the academy aims to cultivate monsters, not in the sense of exceptional talent, but in the sense of fostering growth in anyone with the drive to become stronger, regardless of their initial abilities. Shrek is open to all-year-round enrollment, so Fang Xin's enrollment was easy.

However, some conditions exist. Shrek maintains a "three no-acceptance" policy: children from the seven major sects, individuals with royal blood, and those with unknown identities are generally not admitted. The rationale behind excluding disciples from the seven major sects and members of the royal family is Shrek's desire to avoid involvement in power struggles. After all, such powerful families have internal cultivation. The exclusion of individuals with unknown identities is a measure to prevent being framed, an issue Shrek has faced in the past.

These rules, while seemingly rigid, are often adjusted based on specific circumstances. Tang Wu's arrival at Shrek's admissions office serves as a perfect example. The staff were speechless when they saw the recommendation letter she presented.

"Hold on a moment… Does your family have no objections to this?" The staff member asks.

Tang Wu places her hands on her hips. "It's been said! My father hasn't been a member of the Clear Sky Sect since… well, since forever! What does his past have to do with me?"

The recommendation letter explicitly stated the reason for her departure from the Clear Sky Sect. The letter's author was none other than Tang Hao, the youngest Titled Douluo in history.

The problem? Tang Hao had been missing for over a decade. Had Tang Wu not demonstrated her Clear Sky Hammer martial soul, it would have been impossible to believe that the long-lost Tang Hao had a daughter. The Clear Sky Hammer couldn't be faked. Furthermore, the Clear Sky Sect, the number one sect in the world, hardly required Shrek's guidance. Tang Wu's presence here could only be attributed to the reasons stated in the letter.

"I understand. I'll hand over this recommendation letter to the dean. If you're truly Haotian Douluo's daughter, enrollment shouldn't be a problem. But this one…"

The staff member glances awkwardly at Xiao San, Tang Wu's companion. While Tang Wu's situation was explainable, Xiao San's identity was a complete mystery. The staff would have to treat him as an "unknown."

"Why not? Do you look down on Xiao San's Blue Silver Grass? Let me tell you, his Blue Silver Grass is very powerful! He was born with full soul power." Tang Wu says.

"Sigh… It has nothing to do with martial souls. Shrek Academy accepts even scrapped martial souls. But the unknown person is really…"

"What does it matter if his identity is unknown? I can guarantee—no, I can guarantee it on my father's reputation—Xiao San is a good person, and he saved me before. I don't care; if Xiao San can't get into the school, then I won't get in either. Anyway, I objected to Dad asking me to come here from the very beginning."

The staff member smiles wryly. Why don't you just take your father's reputation as a guarantee…and why don't you ask him what he thinks? Even so, he couldn't risk Tang Wu dropping out. If she were truly Haotian Douluo's daughter, Shrek probably couldn't afford to offend her.

"How about this? I'll send your recommendation letter to the dean, and I'll also mention his situation. Before the results come out, I'll arrange free accommodation for you both for one night. How's that sound?"

"Little San, what do you think?"

Xiao San remains silent, ignoring Tang Wu's question. He walks up to the staff member. "I want to ask… Is Kamen Rider here?"

The staff member is taken aback. Has that person become famous enough to attract visitors?

"Kamen Rider is indeed at our academy, but strictly speaking, he's only our distinguished guest, not a member of our academy."

"It's okay. As long as I know he's here."

With that, he turns and leaves.

"Hey! Wait for me!" Tang Wu hurries after him, grabbing the accommodation key from the staff member. "Aren't you here to enroll?"

"If Kamen Rider is a person here, then I'll consider enrolling."

"Why? Who is that Kamen Rider?"

"I don't know, but I think he has something I want, so I chased him all the way here. If it weren't for meeting you halfway, I might have arrived here long ago."

"What do you mean? Why are you blaming me?" Tang Wu pouts, visibly dissatisfied.

Arriving at their assigned room, Tang Wu blushes at the sight. The staff member had given them a room with one big bed.

"I… Let me make this clear: tonight, you sleep on the floor, and I sleep on the bed. Got it?"

Seeing Xiao San seemingly eavesdropping at the wall, Tang Wu seemed to think of something and pushes him, whispering.

"How can you eavesdrop on other people's…"

"Shh!"

"???"

It seemed she wasn't eavesdropping on those things, so Tang Wu also puts her ear to the wall.

"There's a faceless mysterious guy in Soto City, and it's been a lot of trouble these last couple of days."

"I heard they've been helping the locals deal with some of the bad groups. The ones the security team arrested kept saying that Kamen Rider attacked them."

"Another Kamen Rider? Does it have something to do with the one in the academy?"

"Who knows? But those bad forces aren't made of mud. I bet this mysterious person won't have an easy time of it."

"That's right. Why didn't he find someone to form a team? Why does he have to be alone? I bet those forces will definitely invite powerful soul masters to help."

"Okay, okay, this has nothing to do with us. Hurry up and pack up and salute. We have to go back to the academy to sort out the supplies, and we have a mission later."

"Oh… it's all for credits."

After listening to the conversation, Tang Wu realizes Xiao San was listening for news about the Kamen Rider.

"Hey, Soto City is the place we just passed when we came here, right?"

"That's right. If it wasn't because you were in a hurry, we were planning to rest there for the night… I've said it several times, my name is Tang Wu! Don't call me hello anymore!"

"Little Miss Wu."

"Eh? Why is it so sudden again? What… what's the matter?"

Xiao San steps closer, speaking with sincerity. "Can you lend me some more money?"

"…"

The Ax Gang in Soto City is a notorious organization with deep roots. They control several gray businesses, wielding influence over both the criminal underworld and legitimate society, making them a headache for the security team. They're the strongest of the local gangs, known for their ruthless tactics and meticulousness in covering their tracks. Despite knowing their involvement in various crimes, there's little the authorities can do.

What's more, every night, the Ax Gang gathers its members in the city square to perform the "Ax Dance." Hundreds of men in formal attire and black hats, wielding axes, move in unison to the music. This display of power terrifies the citizens and deters the security team from interfering. All the people dare not speak out.

As the song ends, the men raise their axes in the air. At that moment, a younger member rushes over from outside.

"Boss, the Machete Gang in the south of the city was also wiped out by that Kamen Rider."

Ji Yu, the Ax Gang's boss, is a level 34 Spirit Elder with an iron hand ax martial soul. While not exceptionally strong as a soul master, his criminal enterprises are thriving, allowing him to gather several soul masters of considerable strength as subordinates.

Hearing the report, Ji Yu slowly lowers his ax. "He's fast. I really want to thank this Kamen Rider, helping me deal with an opponent I couldn't easily touch."

"But Boss, will this Kamen Rider come looking for us too?"

"Come on. It's just right. I admire this kind of guy. Wouldn't it be great to recruit him?"

The little brother asks hesitantly: "But will we also be..."

Ji Yu looks at the little brother with a smile: "Do you think I didn't take action against those gangs because of my lack of strength?"

"No, no, I dare not."

Ji Yu pats him on the shoulder, making the little brother flinch.

"If this Kamen Rider is sensible, he'll be like a brother to me, eating and drinking alongside me. If he's not sensible…"

[BUDOU!]

A sudden sound interrupts him. Everyone looks around, spotting a grape-like object appearing in the midair outside the square. It's getting closer.

The little brother points at the grape. "Boss! It's him! The rumors said that the Kamen Rider comes out of a big grape."

Ji Yu frowns. With a wave of his hand, the crowd hurriedly moves out of the way, revealing a petite figure walking toward them. The big grape hangs quietly above the figure's head, moving along with them. Upon closer inspection, they see the figure is holding a glowing object.

Because it was night, the lights weren't bright enough to clearly see the figure's face, so Ji Yu shouts, "You're Kamen Rider? You wiped out the gangs in the nearest city? Not bad! How about it? Interested in joining me?"

The figure remains silent, continuing to approach. At the same time, they place the glowing object on their waist.

[LOCK ON!]

[CHONG! CLANG! CLANG!]

The figure stops in front of the Ax Gang, and the lights illuminate their face. Although covered by a mask, they can tell the figure is a young girl.

"Why are you a little girl?" Ji Yu frowns. Seeing the figure ignore him, his patience wears thin. "I understand your attitude. You want to fight me?"

"I'm not against you." Luo Pupu raises her right hand and places it on the knife-shaped pusher on her belt. "Kamen Riders are the enemies of all evil. Ax Gang, this is not your stage. In the name of Kamen Riders, I will expel you! Henshin!!!"

Depressing the knife-shaped push rod, the Grape Lockseed on the belt is sliced open, and a gun-shaped light pattern flashes.

[BUDOU ARMS!]

The big grape hanging above her head clasps onto her head. A juice-like purple-green liquid sprays from her neck, and a green Chinese-style shirt instantly appears on her body. Then, the grape on her head splits.

[HAI! BUDOU ARMS! RYU! HOU! HA! HA! HA!]

The split grapes transform into a gorgeous armor, tightly locking onto Luo Pupu's body. Her head is covered with purple-eyed green fire patterned head armor, and in her hand appears a gun decorated with grapes. Like a general on the battlefield, she stands before the Ax Gang.

"Kamen Rider Ryugen, has arrived!"

Raising the Grape Dragon Cannon, she shoots Ji Yu in the face, scaring him into raising his ax to shield himself.

"Boom!"

With a roar, Ji Yu is sent flying backward, his ax shaking violently in his hands. The attack's power frightens him. Fortunately, it was his martial soul; an ordinary iron ax would have been shattered.

"What are you still doing?! Attack!"

Following Ji Yu's order, the gang members hesitantly raise their axes and slash at the Kamen Rider. Luo Pupu doesn't dodge, allowing the axes to strike her armor, producing a tinkling sound. Her eyes remain fixed on Ji Yu, who had been sent flying.

"My God, what is her armor made of? The ax cracked!"

"Boss can't do it, I can't stop her at all!"

Seeing the Kamen Rider approaching despite the efforts of his men, Ji Yu turns pale. Luo Pupu moves, sending the men in front of her flying with a single punch.

"A bunch of trash! Get out of the way! First soul skill: Giant Ax Opens the Mountain!"

Three soul rings appear around Ji Yu, and the first white ring lights up. The ax in his hand transforms into the shadow of a ten-meter-long giant ax, which he brings down on Luo Pupu from above.

"A white soul ring's soul skill? Huh!" Luo Pupu scoffs, unexpectedly raising her left hand and grabbing the ax blade.

"What… what?"

Before he can react, Luo Pupu pulls the trigger of the Dragon Cannon, firing countless purple energy bullets.

Panicked, Ji Yu dodges, shouting, "Brother Feng, help me!"

"Who dares to hurt my brother!?"

A black whirlwind rises from the ground, and a thick, brutish man with a black beard appears in front of Ji Yu, wielding a pair of giant black axes.
