Chapter 17: The beautiful Kaidara
The room was completely silent. Several people were present, but none of them spoke. They were thinking about the future. Now that everything was rushing towards a terrible end, and nothing they did seemed to be able to prevent it, they felt a weakness they had not felt in millennia. Weakness was not their own, it was a quality that suited the creatures who worshipped them on a daily basis.
Finally, one of the figures broke the silence
"Maybe everything was wrong from the beginning. After what we did to Noral…"
Another voice interrupted him
"Is it worth talking about it now? What's done is done. Besides, Noral was a danger, even if he didn't break the laws of the universe. We didn't know what he was capable of doing if he ever decided to do so. It was necessary to eliminate him."
"Ha! Always trying to justify yourself, aren't you? Your actions are always justice," said another voice, not hiding his disdain.
"I'm simply telling the truth. Now we have to concentrate on finding a solution. Reality is about to be destroyed, we cannot sit back and do nothing."
Silence fell over the room again. It was not that they did not want to offer ideas to solve the great problem they were facing. They had simply tried so many things and they had all failed, they were on the edge of the abyss.
"Xylara, have you been able to figure out the best way forward?"
A beautiful voice echoed through the room, answering the question.
"I am afraid it is impossible even for me to see the correct answer. There are too many variables. At most we can draw up a plan and put it into action first. Then we could modify it as necessary."
"But how are we going to be able to modify it if it is necessary for us to enter a vegetative state?" another voice asked with some irritation.
Xylara replied again
"We will have to turn to Ludo, only he can access the universal laws to introduce a change in the time stream"
"Very well, I will contact him, we must act as soon as possible. There is not much time left. If we do not get out of the time stream, reality will collapse and we will all die"
A pessimistic atmosphere filled the room.
"We will see each other again soon, stay safe, and do not make any unnecessary movements"
Everyone present in the room nodded solemnly. Then, the figures began to disappear one by one.
Finally two figures remained in the room.
"Xylara, can we avoid the catastrophe that will come?"
"Right now I don't know. Honestly, it makes me a little angry that there is finally something I cannot know for sure and that it is this. I wish it was something more romantic"
Xylara greeted her colleague and left the room.
In the large room, a single figure stood watching the movement of the small knots of light that revolved around her.
"The nodes are so beautiful" she thought.
Her red eyes seemed to see into the distance, through time and space. She tightly gripped her sacred staff and muttered. "I don't want to return to the void."
Boom!
A loud explosion resounded in the spider queen's cave. Luke, who had used all his strength, flew through the air and landed headfirst in the middle of the large room that was completely silent.
He was completely exhausted. The berserk mode had not yet ended, but he could no longer mobilize his strength, his body had reached its limit.
The spider queen rushed into the large cavern, her legs moving at high speed leaving behind afterimages. She was really worried, because if Luke disturbed the entity that was sleeping in this place, both of them would suffer the consequences.
Seeing the detestable human lying motionless on the ground, the spider queen finally felt relief.
At the back of the enclosure, a huge sphere covered in thick veins that were run through by spiritual energy, was in total silence.
"Great! The deity inside that cocoon has not awakened" exclaimed the spider queen. Her gigantic body began to shrink, returning to her previous form, that of a beautiful and sensual black-haired woman.
The spider queen slowly approached Luke. Now that the battle was over and the human had consumed all his strength, it was time to torture him to release some of the resentment she had accumulated from receiving so many affronts from him.
Luke remained motionless, looking at the distant ceiling of the cave. For a moment, he thought he saw small spheres of light spinning around him, lighting up at intervals and forming a web. However, this vision only lasted an instant before being replaced by relentless darkness.
Just when Luke was ready to resign himself to a horrible death at the hands of the spider queen, a sound rang inside his mind.
*Ding*
The system screen appeared before his eyes. But it was completely dyed red, and the reason for the system alert could not be seen.
Luke felt fatigue invade him, the system screen began to distort and finally disappeared before his eyes. The berserk mode had ended, and the system had shut down.
Luke wondered if now that the system had shut down, he would be reincarnated once more if he died. Or if on the contrary, would this be the end of his consecutive reincarnations.
He would be lying if he said that at that moment he did not feel a little fear at the uncertainty.
The spider queen finally arrived in front of him. A beautiful and cruel smile adorned her face. She waved her hand and several spiritual threads were shot out at high speed.
However, before they could pierce Luke, the stick he had obtained as a reward for a system mission, and which was lying on the ground next to him, magically stood up and rejected the attack of the magical beast.
The spider queen looked at the stick in surprise and a feeling of danger invaded her. Something was wrong!
The stick began to vibrate and deform. Little by little it changed its structure, until it took on a human form.
A small boy with violet hair and star-shaped eyes appeared in the enclosure next to Luke, who was struggling to stay conscious.
The small boy looked around. He looked at the spider queen who was standing there, paralyzed with fear and shaking violently. He frowned and looked away at the young human who was lying on the ground, his body destroyed and his consciousness about to fade away.
"So that's why you weren't answering me. For a moment I thought you were trying to rebel!" said the boy in a solemn tone, but his childish voice made it sound funny.
He placed his hand on Luke and a bright light enveloped him.
After a brief moment he withdrew his hand and showed an expression of resignation.
"I can't do much for you, the system can't be touched under any pretext, and with the power of this incomplete incarnation I can't heal your wounds…"
The little boy began to mutter, but Luke couldn't understand what he was saying, his mind was too numb to understand.
Seeing him in that state, the little boy felt great frustration.
"Aaargh, how annoying are these power seals!"
The little boy looked back at the spider queen, and his eyes seemed to light up.
"I got it, I can help you at least eliminate this insect that's causing you trouble. It's your enemy, right?" The boy asked happily, after having found a way to help Luke.
Obviously Luke couldn't answer him. But the boy was used to having his will done, and even if Luke had told him otherwise, once he had made a decision there was no turning back.
He shook his finger and the spider queen's body exploded into pieces, scattering all over the cave. The magical beast that had been the ruler of this territory for thousands of years had been annihilated in an instant.
"Well, I still need to give you a reward for saving my champion. As soon as you recover, I'll send it to you through the system. You can trust my word, I'm known for my sincerity!" The boy continued happily.
The boy walked towards the sphere at the end of the enclosure and began to hit it with the palm of his hand.
"Hey, it's time to wake up! Mmm... But you're already awake!"
The boy inspected the sphere for a few moments. Then he concentrated all the divine energy he could mobilize and injected it into the sphere.
"For a moment I thought you had rebelled and planned to watch the universal warrior die without doing anything. But now I see that you are just as stupid as usual. Your divine flame is so weak that it could disappear at any moment. I would ask you what you did to get to this point of weakness, but knowing your personality, I'm sure it was something unnecessary like using your divine power to protect mortal creatures or something."
The boy with star-shaped eyes continued to inject divine energy until all the energy in his body was exhausted.
"This momentary incarnation I built doesn't have much divinity to offer, but I think it will be enough for your avatar to function properly. The truth is that it makes me a little angry to see you in this state, you even allowed that lower-level spider to take advantage of your energy. When are you going to stop being so compassionate, sister?"
The little boy finished scolding her and sighed.
The sphere that was like a cocoon began to shine and tremble. Then cracks began to appear all over its surface, and finally a huge explosion occurred.
Luke, still clinging to a last thread of consciousness, watched as the cave filled with light, then a figure emerged from within the glowing light. He had seen depictions of that figure in the books of the magic academy. The legendary race, a dragon.
The dragon that emerged from the light roared loudly, and the whole place seemed to shake. Then its body shrank, until it took human form.
The last thing Luke saw before losing consciousness was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, even more beautiful than the queen of the Lunari, whom he could not think of without losing control of his body.
The woman was completely naked, her white skin and perfect curves exposed without any shame. She looked at him with her red eyes, and in those eyes Luke thought he saw relief… and affection?
Luke fainted before he could discover the meaning of the goddess's gaze.
Seeing the young human unconscious, the dragon goddess approached him and took him in her arms. Seeing his miserable state, she felt a pain in her chest. If the boy had not already exterminated the spider queen, she would have torn her apart limb by limb.
"Kaidara, I cannot continue in this plane of reality any longer, otherwise things could get complicated," said the boy solemnly.
"Don't worry Cody, I will take care of healing her wounds, you can leave without worries."
"In that case I will leave, in any case do not remain in that form for a long time, if the rebels notice your return and attack you, we will not be able to help you."
"Don't worry, I know what I must do!" Kaidara responded agitatedly.
Cody saw his sister who was upset, the unconscious universal warrior in her arms, and decided not to continue interrupting the couple's reunion.
"Well, I'm leaving. "We'll see each other in the future Kaidara. Don't act recklessly."
Cody left one last warning and left. Kaidara just nodded his head to indicate that he had heard his words.
Looking at the unconscious boy, Kaidara bit her tongue causing a little blood to flow out, then brought her face closer to his and kissed him on the mouth. The young man's body began to recover at great speed.
