Chapter 518: The Future is Long_2
Chu Mo's voice was three degrees colder as he frowned and said,
"Even if you didn't hit anyone, isn't it a fact that the elderly person fell to the ground because they were frightened by you? Their basket of vegetables was sent flying, and you didn't even offer an apology, isn't that going a bit too far?"
The girl in the Ferrari suddenly sneered, her narrow eyes slightly squinting, filled with indifferent light, as she disdainfully said,
"Who do you think you are? Even if I were to apologize, that would only concern me and that old hag. The old woman didn't even say much, so why are you meddling in others' business?"
Chu Mo struggled to breathe, and after taking several deep breaths, he barely suppressed the urge to punch someone, which was the first time he felt like hitting someone since getting the unlimited bank card.
When encountering those second and third-generation rich before, he would get angry but never felt as stifled as he did now. In Magic Capital, if anyone displeased him, he could make them lose their fortune and their family come to ruin.
But now, facing the arrogant girl in the Ferrari, Chu Mo didn't have any desire to ruin her family; all he wanted was to pull her out of the car and give her a good lesson.
After taking several deep breaths, an irate Chu Mo sneered and said,
"Meddling in others' business, is that it? Fine, I'll let you see if I'm really butting in too much. See these clothes I'm wearing? Look closely, these stains all over them are from your driving splashes. Don't say that I'm wronging you; there's a dashcam in your car. If you don't believe it, just pull up the footage from five minutes ago and see if it's thanks to you. As for the elderly person, let's set that aside for now. Right now, I demand an apology from you, that's not too much to ask for, right?"
As Chu Mo finished speaking, the girl in the driver's seat of the Ferrari stepped out directly. Adorned in lavishly luxurious attire, her strikingly beautiful face wore a proud expression.
She walked straight up to Chu Mo, and with a look of contempt on her face, said,
"Someone like you, apart from being nosy, what else are you capable of? Just say it, how much money do you want as compensation? A thousand? Or two thousand? Is five thousand enough?"
As she spoke, the girl opened her handbag, taking out a stack of red bills without even counting them. She then contemptuously threw the stack of money in front of Chu Mo.
The red currency scattered across the ground—there were, at the very least, dozens of bills. Amidst the gasps of the surrounding crowd, Chu Mo shook his head slightly and said,
"Miss, money might be almighty in this world, but that depends on your own worth. At least in this case, no amount of money will do. I want nothing more than an apology from you. Nothing else will suffice, and without an apology, you shouldn't even think about leaving here today."
Onlookers who saw Chu Mo being neither humble nor arrogant began to applaud, clearly annoyed by the Ferrari girl's haughty attitude; indeed, most of them looked at her with disdain, and there were quite a few pointing and whispering about her.
The girl originally thought that all Chu Mo wanted was money, and once she paid, everything would be settled. However, Chu Mo did not take the bait, and coupled with the pointing and whispering from the passersby, the girl's expression grew increasingly embarrassed, and her pretty face became more and more unsightly.
Behind Chu Mo, the older woman who had been on the ground was ultimately kind-hearted. She came up beside Chu Mo and said,
"Young man, you see I wasn't injured, and this young lady is just like my granddaughter—blundering and naive because she's still young and doesn't know any better. She had no ill intentions, so I think we should let it go, rather than making it hard for the girl."
Chu Mo turned to look at the elderly woman, who was perhaps moved by seeing the pitiful and helpless look on the young girl's face, reminded of her own granddaughter, and thus she did not wish to trouble the girl further.
But while the elderly woman was kind-hearted, Chu Mo was not so easily placated. He turned to the woman and said,
"Old man, this girl is being completely unreasonable, thinking that just because she has some money, she can do whatever she pleases. Let's not fuss over this today, but who knows what kind of trouble she might cause in the future. Besides, I didn't make things difficult for her; I only asked for an apology. As you can see, the water on my clothes is thanks to her. Today, I am going to break her arrogant air."
The elderly woman looked at Chu Mo, his clothes dripping with mud, sighed softly, and then said no more.
Meanwhile, the young girl in front of him kept checking her watch, clearly in a hurry. Seeing that Chu Mo had no intention of backing down, she thought the amount offered wasn't enough and immediately scolded:
"You're just being greedy. I don't have time to waste with you. Five thousand isn't enough? Here, take ten thousand. This money is more than enough to buy ten pieces of clothing. If you still don't know what's good for you, don't blame me for not being polite."
Chu Mo didn't even glance at the red bills in her hand; such an amount was of no consequence to him. He looked directly into the eyes of the girl in front of him and said in an even tone:
"Miss, I have made myself very clear. I don't want your money, not a penny of it, I only want your apology. If you're unwilling, then don't think about going anywhere today. I have all the time in the world, and I can wait it out with you."
The girl in front of him, seeing that Chu Mo was unmoved, was so angry her pretty face turned crimson. She stamped her foot hard and said through clenched teeth:
"You're tough, aren't you? It's just about more money, right? I don't carry that much cash with me. So tell me your card number, and I'll transfer fifty thousand to you. I really don't have time to dawdle with you. If you're still dissatisfied, I can assure you that you'll regret it."
Chu Mo merely scoffed, his interest in arguing further with her decreasing, but he was determined in his mind that the young lady would apologize today, even if heaven's king himself intervened.
By this time, the number of pedestrians on the street was increasing. A Ferrari was already a rare sight, and the appeal of the young girl added to Hua Country people's love for spectacle, which was now on full display. In just a few minutes, the whole road was almost completely blocked, and the crowd of onlookers grew three layers deep both inside and outside.
The girl in front of him picked up her phone, clearly intending to call for reinforcements, yet after hesitating for a long moment, she ultimately resisted the impulse to make the call.
Time ticked away, and as the whispers of the surrounding crowd grew louder, the girl ultimately chose to compromise. She took a deep breath, then looked straight into Chu Mo's eyes with a face so livid it seemed as if her gaze could kill, and finally, through gritted teeth, the girl spoke, "I'm sorry, it was my fault!"
As the words fell, the girl immediately turned and walked to her car. But Chu Mo remained unmoved, maintaining a neutral expression as he said:
"What did you say? I didn't hear you!"
The crowd of onlookers burst into laughter. The girl, who had already gotten into her car, turned beet red from embarrassment and anger, and after giving Chu Mo a fierce glare, the girl, with eyes filled with cold rage, took a deep breath and said:
"I'll remember what happened today, Wu Youyou here. What goes around comes around; we will meet again!"
Barely containing her rage, the girl suddenly shouted loudly, "I'm sorry, it was my fault today, please forgive me!"
Once the words were out, she started the vehicle, and the unique roar of the Ferrari's engine almost pierced the eardrums of those nearby. The crowd parted, and Chu Mo, seeing a faint trace of tears in the eyes of the girl in the driver's seat, lost the desire to continue the dispute.
He stepped aside, and the Ferrari slowly moved through the crowd, disappearing into the distance with a reverberating growl, as the onlookers dispersed and the road slowly cleared.
At that moment, Chu Mo turned and got into his Rolls-Royce. As the motorcade began to move, Fan Gao from the front passenger seat suddenly said:
"Mr. Chu, that girl just now said her name was Wu Youyou. If I'm not mistaken, she must be the daughter of Wu Kunpeng, the one with the 'Iron-clad Defense.'"
