Chapter 7: Chapter 7
The next morning, I went downstairs to do my chores. Maya had already specified what I should be doing. She was very precise on what I should do and what I shouldn't do. She told me not to go near Nicholas' room for now after the event that happened. I respected myself and didn't even go near his room. I don't want to even cross paths with him if that's even possible.
I just want to leave this place with my friend, Adrianna. I wiped away threatening tears at the thought of her. I don't even know if she got killed or something. I'm scared out of my life. I can't lose my friend. I'll die if anything bad happens to her.
"Are you crying?" I heard someone say from behind. I turned to see a guard asking. He seemed kind. There was this look of concern on his face. He should be around my age if I'm not mistaken.
"No, I'm not," I said, wiping the tears. It was so obvious that I was crying, but I'm trying hard to conceal it. He chuckled. "I understand you don't want me to laugh at you, but your secret is safe with me. I'm Luca, by the way."
I nodded. "Amber is the name," I said to him. He nodded. "I..."
"Are you here to chat?" An angry voice said. Luca trotted off. I also continued my work. I was so scared because he was behind me, and I knew he was staring hard at me.
"Why isn't my room cleaned up yet?" he asked. "I...I...I thought you..." I stuttered.
"Go and clean up my room now!" he roared, and I ran to do as he said. My heart was racing badly. I don't know what to say other than to do as I was told.
I got inside the room, and I felt a tension rise up in my spine. What makes it even more confusing is the fact that he followed me inside the room. I was confused. I heard the sound of the door being shut. I snapped my head to see why he did that.
Nicholas had his hands in his pockets as he approached me. I dropped the mop and broom I was holding and tried backing away. He didn't stop moving forward.
"What were you discussing with him?" he asked while moving closer to me. My heart was racing badly. "Nothing...nothing."
He smirked and got even closer to me. Nicholas was so close to me that I could smell the cologne around him. My back was at the wall. He pressed a little on me. He lifted his hand and pushed a strand of hair behind my ears. I shivered at the touch.
"Sir...what...are you doing?" He smirked. "I hate it when you talk to anyone other than me."
I gave him a confused look. "What do you mean, sir?" He leaned even more closer. "This is me telling you that you need me more than you can imagine."
"Please, I need to work," I tried saying. Nicholas placed a kiss on my cheeks, my forehead, and my nose. His lips moved closer to my lips, then there was a knock on the door.
I felt shivers all over my body. My head is screaming this isn't right, but I find it hard to push him away from me. The person knocking didn't stop. Nicholas rolled his eyes and pulled away. He glared at the door.
"Who is there?" I released a sigh of relief when he was away from me. Did he just try to kiss me? What is wrong with him? Is he trying to make me look stupid or something? This act of his is confusing.
"It's Maya, sir," I widened my eyes at the name. Nicholas turned to look at me before he answered, "I'm coming." He went to get the door.
Maya walked inside. She searched the room, then her eyes landed on me. When she saw me, she smiled. "Sorry, sir, for the disturbance. I came to check if Amber needed my help here."
"Why would she need your help?" he asked. She was a little confused about what to say. "I just thought she might need my help, sir, to clean."
I cut it out and picked up the mop and broom. "I was just about to leave the room," I said. Nicholas shot me a look. "The room isn't clean yet," he said. I searched Maya's eyes for help. I don't want to be alone with him. I fear what might happen if I stay here with him. I don't want to regret anything that might happen afterwards.
The best I could do was to stay far from him. "I'll clean up the room," Maya said, and I was so glad she wanted to help. Before he could reject that, I ran to the door. "I'll go clear the living room," I said and ran for my dear life. My heart was racing so badly. The feel of his cologne still lingered in my nostrils.
Why did he behave that way with me? Is he attracted to me? Is this his way of getting me to sleep with him? I'm so uncomfortable right now. I don't know what to think anymore. The way he stared at me makes me feel sensational. Maybe it's me hallucinating. Maybe I'm the one getting it all wrong.
I don't need to think about what happened. I don't want to get my hopes all up. What's best for me is to stay clear of him, and that is exactly what I'm going to do.

"Tell me what happened. I know something happened before I came in," Maya said. I shook my head. "It's nothing you should be worried about." She held my hand. "Please tell me when he tries to seduce you. I beg of you. Don't fall for his tactics."
I shook my head once again. "Nothing of such happened." She gave me a look that looked like she didn't believe me. Why am I even hiding what he did? Do I need to hide it from her?
