Chapter 5
Chapter 5: Military Training
“Ning Chu really sucks at games; she doesn’t even know all the skills and gets distracted all the time.”
“After you guys went to sleep last night, I played with her for two hours and didn’t win a single game.”
It’s 8 AM at the school playground.
The four of them from the dormitory are already on the grass, sitting cross-legged. Wen Yang is grumbling about Ning Chu’s awful gaming skills.
“I was wondering why she never plays games with us. Turns out, she’s just too bad.”
“Hey, Ning Chu, why are you sulking again?”
Ning Chu sits alone on the side, hugging her knees, curled up with her chin resting on her lap, staring blankly ahead.
Hearing Zhang Shaoqing’s question, she lazily turns her gaze to the three, giving them a weak response, “Stomach pain.”
Since six this morning, Ning Chu has been woken up by the cramps in her lower abdomen, and the pain has been relentless, torturing her until now.
“Did you eat something bad?”
Zhang Shaoqing, the supposed villain, shifts closer, concerned.
Her body curls up tighter, lips paling as she complains, “It must be that Sichuan restaurant that’s the problem.”
“Really? I didn’t feel any pain,” Zhang Shaoqing turns to the others, “How about you guys? Got any stomach issues? If there’s a problem, I’ll go confront them at lunch.”
“Nope.” Wen Yang shakes his head, “Maybe Ning Chu can’t handle spicy food?”
“Yeah, I drank a bit too much and now my head hurts.”
Wang Jie covers his head and leans back on the grass.
Seeing the others are unharmed, Zhang Shaoqing turns his attention back to Ning Chu, “Time to gather. Or you might want to hurry to the restroom?”
“Forget it.”
If that would work, Ning Chu wouldn’t still be in pain now.
She suspects her chronic gastritis from her past life has followed her into this world.
Fortunately, while the pain is continuous, it’s not severe; it just saps her energy.
“Gather up! Get in line!”
The class teacher spots the four still sitting on the grass, hurrying them up, and kicks Wen Yang’s butt, “Hurry up, did you even eat breakfast? Don’t embarrass yourself on the first day of military training.”
“Breakfast? What’s that?”
“It’s already seven fifty. You still want breakfast?”
The group laughs and playfully gets up, following the class assistant toward the assembly point. Ning Chu half-opens her eyes, still looking lackluster.
When they lined up, due to her height, she ended up in the front row. She was initially unhappy, but that changed when she saw the legal loli beside her, a little over one meter four with D-cups. Suddenly, her spirits lifted.
Looking back, in just one class’s lineup of girls, there were lolis, young ladies, sister-types, catgirls, succubi, elves…
Not only all kinds, but even otherworldly girls are included.
Truly the world of Small Royal Text, LSPs rejoice!
Ning Chu straightens up; now she can hold her head high next to her one-meter-four counterpart, feeling a bit more confident about her own height.
Like in her past life’s university military training, the freshmen line up in rows while a few school leaders take the stage to start their long-winded speeches.
As the morning sun grows increasingly intense, Ning Chu initially scans the one-meter-four girl beside her with interest, but after a couple of minutes of droning speeches in the heat, she starts to feel sleepy and yawns repeatedly.
Do leaders in any world love to drone on endlessly…?
The school leaders’ words go in one ear and out the other. Ning Chu, yawning, holds her aching lower tummy, standing dazed until suddenly, a military training instructor appears directly in front of her.
“March in place! Keep up!”
Speaking of which, isn’t there supposed to be no military training plot in novels?
Ning Chu instinctively follows the instructor’s footsteps, her mind hazily recalling the storyline.
There really isn’t!
That means for the next two weeks of military training, she doesn’t need to worry about her roommates turning into harem scum or becoming villains due to plot developments.
Thinking this, her stomach pain-induced bad mood lifted a bit.
Everyone in the class follows the instructor to a corner of the playground, standing in formation under the instructor’s guidance, standing straight, hands tightly against their thighs.
“Stand at attention for ten minutes.”
Though it’s a world where Small Royal Text exists, when no plot is happening, the people here seem quite normal.
At first, Ning Chu was worried that the views of the people here would be too open-minded, but from this time spent together, it doesn’t seem too different from her past life.
Military training is always boring, especially standing at attention.
As the sun blazes overhead, beads of sweat appear on her forehead and back, and the abdominal pain intensifies, forcing her to furrow her brows and focus all her energy on resisting the discomfort.
Her fingertips start to feel a little numb, the tingling sensation traveling up her limbs, making her breaths grow heavier without her realizing.
Suddenly, Ning Chu realizes something—only to find that any movement feels extremely difficult. One foot lifts, but her mind goes completely blank in an instant.
When she becomes aware again, she finds herself sitting on the ground.
She instinctively glances around; all her classmates’ eyes are focused on her.
Her face flushes in embarrassment—she can’t believe she’s the first to go down in the class.
Even less than the girls.
“Ning Chu, what’s wrong?” Wen Yang rushes over, squatting next to her, “Why did you suddenly fall?”
“Just… felt dizzy for a moment.”
Zhang Shaoqing comes over too, teasing, “Your physical endurance is worse than a girl’s, seriously, we might as well take a trip to Thailand!”
This villain really has a sharp tongue!
Ning Chu glares at him with a displeased expression, “I have stomach pain today; it’s not my fault you took me to eat bad food last night.”
“We’re all fine; you’re not on your period, are you~?”
What was meant as harmless teasing left Ning Chu stunned, her pupils dilating in shock.
No way! Period?!
Impossible?!
The instructor approaches, noting Ning Chu’s condition is manageable, he pats Wen Yang on the shoulder, “You two take her to the medical room; get her some glucose water.”
“Tomorrow, have her eat some breakfast; otherwise, she won’t be able to handle the training.”
“Alright, no more sitting around.” Wen Yang gives Ning Chu a gentle push on the shoulder, “Stop dazing!”
Zhang Shaoqing leans in, peering into her dazed expression, and mocks, “You’re not going to faint again, are you?”
“I’m not…”
Ning Chu has already recovered, standing up with their help, her complexion gradually brightening.
It was just Zhang Shaoqing’s teasing; why’s she so bothered?
She has already checked repeatedly! She’s totally got what a man should have!

Thinking back on that time she fainted during military training makes her so mad!
