Trapped in Paradise

Chapter 6

Chapter 6: The Elegant Scoundrel!

In the single rest room of the school medical office, Ning Chu sat on the snow-white bedding, holding a cup of water, sipping glucose water one mouthful at a time.

It was the first time in both his past and this life that he fainted, and the first time he drank glucose.

Sweet, not bad at all.

He raised his gaze and glanced at Wen Yang and Zhang Shaoqing standing to the side, the corners of his mouth twitching.

The main male and second male from the book are now serving me alone…

Too bad he’s not a girl and doesn’t like men. This world isn’t some otome spin-off; it’s a male-oriented small royal text.

If it weren’t for the chance I still have now and being unfamiliar with this world, I’d have already dropped out and ran away.

“Ning Chu, why don’t you faint again later?” Zhang Shaoqing said with a smirk, “Then we can take you back, slacking off.”

Ning Chu turned his head, too lazy to engage, shifting his butt to lean against the headboard, half-closing his eyes as he stared out the window.

His hand instinctively pressed against his lower abdomen, as if that could suppress the stomach pain.

This pain felt different from his usual stomach aches; it was a cramping sensation that gradually spread from a point to a larger area. It wasn’t intensely strong but persisted, torturing him.

Ning Chu recalled something and noted on his phone: September 16, stomach pain.

Though he thought it was impossible, if this pain lasted for days and the same symptoms appear next month, he might really need to go to the hospital for a check-up.

No matter how absurd it sounded, what if it really was Aunt Flow?

But this is a hospital in a small royal text world… it feels a bit dangerous.

He clearly remembered how he humorously wrote some scenes about hospitals imitating a certain drama.

Well, that’s just me digging my own grave!

“It can’t really be Aunt Flow, can it?” Ning Chu muttered to himself, rubbing his temples in distress.

Wen Yang, who was sitting nearby playing a mobile game, turned to look at him, “What did you just say?”

“Nothing, just that my stomach hurts badly.”

“This is the medical office, right? Get the doctor to give you some medicine,” Zhang Shaoqing said without looking up from his phone, getting up and walking a few steps outside, then accidentally bumping into a pillar.

“Damn! This stupid pillar!”

Looking at Zhang Shaoqing kicking the pillar in frustration, it was hard to imagine this fool becoming that kind of villain in the book.

Ning Chu sighed internally.

And then there’s Wen Yang, who looks honest and upstanding, supposedly never held a girl’s hand since he was eighteen, his first date ruined by this guy.

How did he turn into a harem scumbag?

“Here, this is medicine for stomach issues.” Not long after, Zhang Shaoqing popped back in with a small bottle of medicine, “Just take one at a time.”

“I haven’t even been examined yet…”

“The doctor is busy; there are seven or eight girls outside. Lucky you fainted early; otherwise, you’d be sitting on a bench outside.” He tossed the medicine bottle on the bed and continued, “Do you really need to see a doctor for such a minor issue? I could buy you some from the pharmacy myself.”

Ning Chu nonchalantly picked up the bottle, took a pill with the glucose water, then went back to staring blankly while clutching his stomach.

Wen Yang finished his game and finally looked up at his half-lying, sickly roommate, asking, “How’s it going? You still look pretty bad.”

“Still uncomfortable…”

“Then why don’t you take a leave this morning?” Wen Yang asked with genuine concern, “Just say that the Sichuan food Zhou Qing took you out for last night gave you gastroenteritis; the counselor should accept that.”

But Zhang Shaoqing interjected, “How could there be a problem? We ate it and are fine.”

As they were chatting, a middle-aged man entered the rest room.

Ning Chu instinctively lifted his gaze, looking at the neatly dressed counselor, momentarily stunned.

“How are you feeling?” The counselor approached the bed, scanning Ning Chu’s face. Noticing Ning Chu awkwardly shrinking his neck and avoiding his gaze, he continued, “If you’re okay, get back to military training. And you two, have been slacking off here for half an hour, right?”

Zhang Shaoqing replied defiantly, “I’m taking care of my sick roommate; how can that be slacking off?”

“He looks fine now.”

“He still has a stomach ache! He went out to eat Sichuan food with us last night and ended up with gastroenteritis.”

While they were trying to argue their case for laziness, Wen Yang’s gaze shifted back to Ning Chu, noticing his unnatural expression.

He stepped closer and whispered, “What’s wrong now?”

“Nothing…”

Ning Chu rubbed his temple in regret and guilt.

Mainly because seeing the counselor, this elegant scoundrel, made him a little uncomfortable.

In the book, this counselor used his position to coerce and manipulate female students, and he had no idea if such things were still happening nowadays.

After all, it’s a small royal text, and many plots in the book go against moral, legal, and ethical standards. While it’s fantasy when written, if it were to happen in reality, then it would just be pure physiological discomfort.

What was I thinking writing a small royal text!

“Alright, you both go to military training; I’ll keep an eye on things here.” The counselor waved his hand, too lazy to argue further with Zhang Shaoqing, “You say you’re caring for your classmate, but I heard you playing games just outside a moment ago.”

“Playing games with a sick friend to cheer him up, isn’t that caring?”

Zhang Shaoqing continued to stubbornly argue, but begrudgingly headed for the door, muttering, “It’s so sunny; I don’t want to do military training…”

Wen Yang helplessly got up to follow, and Ning Chu thought for a moment before quickly getting off the bed.

“Wait for me!”

“You’re okay now?”

“I’m fine, let the other girls use the rest room; I’m going to military training!”

The counselor looked at Ning Chu’s still pale face and raised an eyebrow slightly: “Fine, then you go.”

As noon approached, the sun was getting more intense and blinding.

Just stepping out of the medical room, Ning Chu’s eyes were stung open. He hurriedly chased after his two roommates and heard Wen Yang curiously ask.

“Why do you feel like you have a bad impression of the counselor? It’s just like how you were trying to avoid Zhou Qing before.”

“You’re talking nonsense! I’ve always had a strong bond with Ning Chu!”

Ning Chu secretly shot Zhang Shaoqing a glare.

In the beginning, he certainly had to be wary of the main villain in the book; that guy was way more perverted than the counselor. But after spending time together, he learned Zhang Shaoqing was just a clueless fool.

As long as they avoided any scenes involving the two of them, the fool would always be a fool, and a virgin would forever be a virgin.

“Hey, let’s order takeout for lunch together! We can get a discount,” Zhang Shaoqing suggested, holding up his phone.

Wen Yang shook his head, “I’m going to the cafeteria; I have a date with my girlfriend.”

“Ning Chu? Wow! You’re looking lively!”

Wen Yang turned around, surprised to see Ning Chu full of fighting spirit, looking determined.

“I’m going to the cafeteria for lunch too! Let’s sit together!”

“Huh?”

That sly girl is trying to curve in!

Perhaps in this matter, I should team up with Zhang Shaoqing!

Ning Chu hooked his arm around Zhang Shaoqing’s neck, flashing a bright smile, “You’re going too!”

“I don’t want to squeeze into the cafeteria… What does it matter to us if he’s dating a girlfriend? I’m not going!”
