Transmigrating as an Extra, But the Heroine Has Regressed?!

Chapter 108: The fights in the Eastern Forest.

The team moved like clockwork, every member sliding into their assigned position. Their hands trembled ever so slightly, and their breathing was uneven, but they remembered their training.

Facing one Savage-rank beast was already deadly. Facing four at once? That was a nightmare made real.

The first Ironfang Wolf made the opening move. It burst from the mist like a black blur, all muscle and fur, its crimson eyes locked on the team.

The ground shook under its heavy stride.

"Hold!" Edwin said.

Ronan—the tank—braced himself. With a deep grunt, he slammed his massive shield into the earth, the metal edge sinking slightly into the soft forest floor. A heartbeat later, the wolf collided with it.

BANG!

The impact was like a tree falling. Dirt and leaves exploded upward. The force drove Ronan backward, his boots digging two deep trenches in the mud.

His arms shook violently, veins bulging in his neck as he held on with everything he had.

"GRAAAHHH!" Ronan roared, using his own voice to push back fear and pain.

"NOW!" Edwin's command cut through the chaos.

Mira, the fire mage, had been waiting. Her staff flared with red light, the runes along its length glowing hot.

"Fire Lance!" she shouted.

A spear of flame burst from the staff's tip, hissing through the mist before striking the wolf's flank. Fur sizzled and the smell of burning hair filled the air.

The wolf yelped in fury, its body twisting in pain—but it didn't back down. Instead, it snapped its glowing eyes toward Mira, the fire in its gaze promising death.

Talia reacted instantly. "Frost Bind!"

She slammed her palm into the ground. Icy tendrils erupted from the soil, crawling up the wolf's legs like frozen chains. For a moment, the beast was trapped, its limbs stiff with frost.

But the moment lasted only seconds.

With a violent shake, the wolf shattered the ice, shards flying in all directions. It snarled, muscles rippling, steam rising from its heated breath in the cold mist.

Then, the second Ironfang struck.

It had been circling, waiting for an opening. In a blur of black fur, it darted around Ronan's shield and leapt straight for Leo, the spear-user.

"Leo, left!" Edwin shouted.

Leo pivoted desperately, planting his foot and lunging with his spear. The tip grazed the wolf's shoulder, leaving a shallow wound, but it wasn't enough to stop the charging beast.

The wolf's massive paw lashed out, claws gleaming.

WHAM!

Leo was knocked off his feet, his back slamming into a tree with a loud thud. Air exploded from his lungs, and pain lanced through his ribs as he gasped for breath.

"Leo!" Mira shouted, her voice a mix of fear and anger.

The forest exploded with chaos—snarls, shouting, the clang of metal and the hiss of magic.

The wolves were faster, stronger, and more relentless than anything training had ever prepared them for. Training dummies didn't snarl. Wooden targets didn't bleed or hunt you down.

Here, one mistake meant death.

Every breath, every step, every decision—they all mattered.

The third and fourth Ironfang Wolves began to circle the team, their red eyes glowing in the mist.

One of them vanished entirely, its dark fur blending into the underbrush, the rustle of leaves the only clue to its movements.

"Watch the flank!" Edwin shouted, his voice cutting through the chaos like a whip. His instincts screamed that an attack was coming from the blind side.

Suddenly, the first wolf lunged past Ronan's shield, slipping through a gap in the formation.

Edwin moved on instinct. He pivoted, his sword flashing in a clean arc.

SHHHK!

The blade slashed across the wolf's snout, cutting deep. Blood sprayed into the air, and the beast staggered back, letting out a piercing howl that shook the branches overhead.

The forest had become a storm of chaos—

Roaring wolves that seemed to come from every direction.

Shouts and screams from the team as they scrambled to react.

The ring of steel and crackle of magic as spells and weapons clashed against living predators.

Edwin's mind raced. They were overwhelmed.

The battle escalated with terrifying speed.

At the front, Ronan was fighting for his life. Two wolves slammed against his shield, their combined weight driving him backward inch by inch.

His knees sank into the mud, boots sliding, and the metal of his armor groaned and creaked with every impact. He gritted his teeth, veins standing out in his neck, knowing if he fell, the mages would be torn apart.

"HAAAH!" he roared, forcing his legs to lock and shoving back with all his strength.

On the flanks, Mira's fireballs streaked through the mist, exploding against black fur.

FWOOOSH!

The bursts of flame scorched the wolves, leaving burn marks and the sharp smell of singed hair.

But instead of retreating, the beasts only grew angrier, their snarls deeper and more vicious.

"I… I can't keep this up!" Mira panted, her chest heaving. Sweat dripped down her temple, and her hands shook around her staff. Each fireball drained her stamina, and she was already struggling.

Beside her, Talia slammed her palm to the dirt. "Ice Wall!"

With a loud crack, a barrier of frost and jagged ice rose in front of a charging wolf. For a brief moment, the beast was slowed, its claws scraping against the slippery ice.

But the Ironfang's raw power shattered it, splinters of ice spraying across the forest floor. The wolf lunged through the fragments, unstoppable.

At the rear, Leo was scrambling between support spells. "Barrier! Heal!—Ahhh!"

A wolf's claw sliced through the air, so close it brushed his hair. His heart froze in his chest—one inch closer, and his head would've been gone.

He stumbled backward, gasping, his staff trembling in his hands.

The forest felt like a nightmare now:

Four predators circling, each strike more vicious than the last.

The team split and panicked, their careful formation breaking under the relentless assault.

Every heartbeat was a gamble between survival and disaster.

Edwin's mind was cold and focused despite the chaos. He could feel the battle slipping out of control—and he knew that one wrong move would get someone killed.
