Chapter 46: Please Believe Us!

Running through the streets, Conis and her father yelled warnings of Eneru's plans, urging the people to vacate the island and head elsewhere for safety. But the people scoffed and mocked them, doubting their words. The sky police further fueled the distrust, claiming Conis and her father were in cahoots with the blue sea folk and couldn't be trusted. It seemed hopeless. The memories Lucas had shown them were real, but the people weren't convinced... until 'Boom! Crash!' Explosions sounded not far off. Up above, something blue was flying towards the clouds. Lightning doesn't fall upwards, does it? The people wondered, worry gnawing at their hearts as Conis' words began to sink in.

A few moments earlier, when Eneru decided to use his mantra again, Lucas and Eneru stood facing each other. Eneru was sweating, listening intently but hearing nothing.

"Your mantra thing won't work on me," Lucas said, looking at Eneru. He was now in his human form as he charged, and before Eneru could react, Lucas held him in place using Gravattack's powers.

"Gravity Lock!" Lucas muttered, then cursed silently, "Damnit! Now I'm naming my moves." He pulled Eneru towards him. "Three-time gravity punch!" he muttered, landing an uppercut that sent Eneru soaring through the trees into the sky.

Infuriated at his inability to land a solid hit on Lucas, Eneru changed his form, becoming blue, and with a loud bang, he soared higher into the sky, using the momentum of the punch to gain speed.

"Chhh, so that's it, huh," Lucas clicked his tongue. Eneru entered the clouds above, which soon turned dark. Thunder rumbled, and a loud laughter echoed from within. Lightning in the form of animals descended from the clouds—thunder beasts, as Eneru called them. The lightning struck the ground, causing the people to scream in panic. They now realized the gravity of the situation.

"To-t-To the boats!! Quickly, everyone, escape using the boats!" the leader of the sky police yelled, mustering courage. Though no one wanted to believe it, it was true. The people ran in a panic, grabbing their children and flooding the streets. Chaos ensued as they fled, and children cried. Some elders lost hope.

As another volley of lightning beasts fell, they struck a pink dome. The lightning flowed through it and dissipated at the bottom. The people stopped, looking at the dome that blocked the calamity from reaching their town. A man stood in the air, his arm raised as if he were protecting them.

"It's him! He was with those blue sea people!" a sky police officer exclaimed in shock. The people wondered why such a person was helping them. Not only was he not from Skypiea, but he was also shielding them from Eneru's attacks.

"Have heart, Skypiea! As this blue sea dweller is doing his best to protect us, let's act with haste and head to the boats. If we hurry, we can all make it!" the sky police captain encouraged. The people had hope now, moving in a more organized manner, though still hurriedly.

"Hmmm!" Lucas noticed what was happening below. He shook his head and focused on the battle above. A large fist came from the clouds, striking the barrier. The impact shook the clouds below, and the people collapsed in fear. As the fist persisted, the barrier shattered like glass. Lucas smiled at the display of power. Eneru was using the clouds to boost his attack. Smiling, Lucas quickly threw a magic talisman below, forming another protective barrier. Then, he changed into Feedback fused with Chromastone. The lightning fist continued to fall, and as it reached Lucas, an immense light shimmered, akin to a miniature sun. The crackling sound of lightning echoed through the place. The islanders gasped, some in shock and fear, others crouching and covering their ears, hoping this nightmare would end.

Eneru's laughter boomed from the clouds as his lightning struck Lucas. After a while, a beam shot up into the sky, passing through the clouds. Soon, Lucas was standing atop the barrier again.

"So that's it," Eneru muttered. "There is a limit to the energy you can absorb." Lucas transformed again, this time into something different—similar to the Sandman, he became a sand monster or alien. He thrust his hands towards the clouds above, encasing them in a ball of sand.

"A foolish attempt," Eneru remarked. But before he could act, the sand changed color, turning purple. Eneru couldn't move through the sand, nor could his attacks penetrate it. Lucas had fused this sand alien with Chromastone, making every sandy part of him capable of absorbing Eneru's attacks.

"This is fun. Come on, show me more," Lucas taunted. As he slowly shrank the sphere containing the cloud Eneru was in, Eneru poked a hole using the gold he still had. He shot forth in an instant, heading towards another cloud, but then changed course, heading back to Upper Yard. In front of him, sand swooped up from below. Eneru evaded, keeping his distance from the sand. Lucas materialized from the sand, then turned into Jetray, soaring through the clouds and breaking the sound barrier as he flew. He caught up to Eneru in an instant.

Eneru gasped, seeing Lucas flying next to him. Lucas turned into a Kraho, changing his hand into a spiked mallet and striking Eneru, sending him crashing to the ground. Eneru landed in the middle of a battle involving one of his priests.

Lucas landed on the ground as his appearance shifted. Though he looked like he was in his normal state, his clothes had changed, resembling The Sentry's hero suit. The Omnitrix on his left wrist had transformed into a gauntlet glowing slightly blue. He clenched his fist, his eyes locked on Eneru, who could sense the danger this new form posed.

In a blink, Eneru felt himself being sent flying at super speed. The pain was delayed until he crashed into something, staggering as he came to, his vision hazy. He found himself amidst some ruins.

"I should have... I sh..." Eneru stammered, disoriented.

"What! No way," Waipa remarked, standing beside Zoro. They were in the same area where Lucas had sent them. The Straw Hats and Waipa's people looked on as they saw Eneru staggering. With the priests defeated, the battle was coming to an end. Waipa had been stubbornly attacking Luffy, but they were all interrupted by Eneru's crash and Lucas hovering above, imitating Superman as his cape billowed.

"Lucas?" Robin remarked in surprise.

"Zoro, look! That cape and outfit look so cool!" Luffy said, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

"This is your end," Lucas declared, clenching his right fist. Mana circles emerged around it—a series of recoil absorption and redirection circles. He floated higher and then punched Eneru with immense force.

For a second, there was silence. Then a loud bang echoed through the place, dust rising up and creating a crater. As the dust cleared, Lucas pulled back his bloodied hand, having punched Eneru's top half into a pulp. He shook his hand once to clear the blood and then flew out of the crater, landing in front of the Straw Hats.
