Transmigrated into Another Apocalyptic World (BL)

Chapter 60: Stopping to have lunch

"By the way, did Samuel find a way to make our communication device work?" Treyton asked.

"Not yet, Samuel said that something was interfering with the signals. He tried different frequencies, but he still wasn't able to receive any response.

He is trying to make his own signal tower to try if he could make a connection that could be available in a short distance.

Yesterday, I asked him about it again, but he said that he still needed one more material to complete it," Yang answered.

"I see. Let's look for some materials after reaching another town. Even if it's a communication device for short distances only, it is still better to have it than to have nothing," Treyton said.

"He should be able to finish it as soon as we get the parts that he needed; he was very confident about it."

"Well, he is indeed good at making things like that. So, if he was confident about it, then he could indeed make it," Treyton said.

When they went, he stopped in the tech shops to look for some speakers and other things he wanted; the others also got a lot of things they needed.

He learned that Sauel was their youngest member on Treyton's bodyguard team.

When he was observing the others in their fight, he already noticed that Samuel was the weakest person among Treyton's bodyguards in terms of combat.

It seemed that he was originally focused on tech-related things; that's' why his expertise wasn't actually in combat.

In the past few days, Luciel always saw him sitting in the corner with a lot of things around him while doing something.

So, Samuel was actually making a signal tower for the past few days after trying out that they really couldn't send and receive any messages from others because something was interfering with the signal transmission.

If he could succeed in making communication possible, even if the range isn't that wide, it would still be very helpful.

When Treyton gave complicated orders that the others also needed to hear or they were the ones who needed to move, they still needed to stop their car to inform the others properly.

That's also one of the reasons why they kept being delayed. The relay of orders was really too slow.

They were currently using small flags of different colors for a signal. All of the cars had different small flags made out of different colors for them to use as a signal and, of course, to order something.

For example, raising a red flag means to stop and fight, raising a blue flag means to stop and rest, raising a yellow flag means they encountered something blocking the way but they weren't sure how to deal with it, raising a black flag means to run because they were unable to fight the enemy, and anymore.

They made everyone memorize the meanings of those flags that they were using, and it could be seen that they were indeed useful, but they could only relay simple orders, so having a communication device would still be very helpful to them even if the range wasn't that wide.

Samuel wasn't even alive in the novel that he read, so Treyton and the others didn't have any communication devices until they reached the north base they were going to.

Yang and Treyton talked more about other things, but Luciel didn't pay attention to it any longer and just continued reading comics.

When it was nearly lunch time, Treyton decided to stop in an open space where they could have their lunch because they hadn't found a place to stop yet, and according to Yang, the only available place where they could stop again was still 2 kilometers ahead.

They had been cooped in one place in the past few days because of the heavy rain, so it was also good for them to stop in an open place.

The weather was also good, so Luciel doesn't have any complaints.

After the others cleaned up the surroundings a bit and cleaned up some zombies wandering around, Luciel got out of the car even though the others were still beginning to set up the place for them to eat.

He hadn't stayed in the car again for the past few days, so he became unaccustomed to it. The feeling of staying in the car for a few hours without being able to stretch properly wasn't too good, so he got out first to stretch for a bit.

It was finally not raining anymore, so it was good to go out to enjoy the sun for a bit.

The others also seemed to think so because Luceil could see that the others also got out of their own cars and were all preparing a place to sit down and have their lunch later.

They were busy cleaning up the surroundings so that they could comfortably eat their lunch and rest outside for a bit.

Aside from Treyton, Yang and Zam were left in their car because they were still talking about something about their travel plans; almost all the others went down.

Ashlee also went down with him and was greeted by Sophie and Theo, who also got out of the car they were in.

They stayed together for the past few weeks without being separated from each other except for sleeping time; no wonder they were excited to talk and play with each other again.

While the others were cleaning up the place and setting up things they were going to use for lunch, Luciel was also walking around for a bit while stretching.

The temperature was just right, so they didn't do anything else, and just right, so Luciel was in a good mood and was more motivated to walk around for a bit even if there's nothing to see except for the bushes around.

However, his good mood was instantly gone when he looked at where the kids were and noticed something approaching.

"Ashlee, get down!"
