Chapter 57: Talking about Treyton
After the discovery of Theo's space power, the day went by without any more disturbance.
The others continued their training while Theo was accompanied by Zam, and some ability users were going around putting some things in Theo's space.
"By the way, how did you convince Jane today?" Luciel asked when they were back to their room at night.
"She already knows that most of us are ability users, so she had a general idea of how strong we are. Yang also mentioned my family in the north; that's why she was convinced that we could indeed protect Theo if they were going to follow us."
"I see. So, how influential is your family in the north?" Luciel asked even though he already knew the answer based on the novel he read.
"You're finally interested in me; that's great!" Treyton said while grinning.
"I'm only interested to see if you could really support me," Luceil replied casually.
"That's still good; at least you're finally interested in knowing something about me. You are always uninterested in other things except for food and other leisure activities.
Of course, except for your interest in Ava's guard," Treyton said while muttering the last sentence, but Luciel still heard it.
"Heh, so you really got upset the other day just because of that?" Luciel said in a teasing manner.
"Of course I am. It's not good seeing you interested in someone else," Treyton said unhappily, but at least his mood wasn't so turbulent like the other day.
"Don't worry, I'm not as fickle as you, and I also don't want to waste my time looking for someone else," Luciel said nonchalantly.
"When did I even become fickle? I'm not," Treyton denied.
"You say you aren't? How many lovers did you have so far?"
"Hmm, I think it's not that many."
"Ok, let's not talk about something you can't even remember. You can at least remember how long your relationships last, right?"
"Not really, but they sure don't last long," Treyton answered.
"See? If that isn't your fickleness, then what could it be?"
"I'm really not. It's not my fault that they couldn't abide by our agreement, so of course the relationship needed to end," Treyton said with a shrug.
"Tsk. Let's not talk about those anymore; I'm not interested in your relationships anyway. Just answer my question a while ago."
Luciel wasn't interested in Treyton's past relationships. As long as they don't affect him, he really doesn't care.
"Ok. My grandfather is the commander in chief of the army there. Our family has been in the army since ages ago, and until now it still hasn't changed.
Only a few members of the family weren't part of the army. So, most of my relatives were all in the army. Even if they weren't in combat positions, they were still working as assistants, army medics, or in any other positions in the army."
"Nice, but you didn't become a part of the army; how did you do it?"
In the novel, it wasn't really written in detail how Treyton opposed his grandfather and became a businessman instead.
"I don't want to stay in the army because it was too restrictive, so even if my grandfather didn't agree, I forced my uncle to sign my resignation.
Afterwards, I directly went to the capital without even going to my grandfather's place because I knew he would force me to stay.
However, even though he gradually accepted it and didn't force me to go back to the army, he would still involve me in some cases, especially those that involve our circle."
"Heh, I see. How did you force your uncle?"
"Of course, I blackmailed him with something that I can't tell you for now," Treyton said while grinning.
"Oh, then, your uncle was surely the one to suffer directly from your grandfather's anger, right?"
"Yes, he was the one who directly suffered the most from grandfather. He can't even go out for a month because of my grandfather's discipline," Treyton said while chuckling.
"Your grandfather is really something."
"Yes, so as long as he was there, nothing would happen. Even if he wasn't there, as long as my uncles are still there, our family standing won't have any problems."
"That's good; at least I know you really have the capacity to support me for the long term," Luceil said relaxedly.
One of the reasons why he agreed to stay with Treyton and even thought of staying in his team even if he wasn't his lover anymore was because he had a big backer.
His family had enough power to stop a lot of troublesome things from happening.
If he stayed with Treyton's team, at least it would be more convenient because he doesn't have to worry too much about a lot of troublesome things.
If he were to stay alone or to stay with just any other team, he would experience a lot of inconvenience again.
Just the place he would stay, the job he would be doing, the supplies they would be gathering, and the place he would be fighting. All of those things would have a lot of problems without proper backing.
He had seen and experienced a lot of such inconveniences in his past life, which he doesn't want to experience again because of how troublesome they were.
At least with proper backing, they didn't have to worry that he would need to pay a lot just to have a place to stay; the supplies they would get didn't need to be compromised much, and the jobs they would get would also have more proper compensation.
Even if having a backing also has some problems, at least they don't have to worry about such small but troublesome matters.
So, even if Treyton found another lover later on, he still planned to stay on his team because of the convenience it could bring.
"Yeah, don't worry, I can support you for a long time. Now that we are on that topic. Let's do something that we should be doing," Treyton said, then initiated a passionate kiss.
