Chapter 110 - The Love Life Account Has Been Deleted
The three of them sat in a wild mushroom hotpot restaurant.
Tang Yuan propped her chin on one hand, holding a fork in the other. She speared a piece of honeydew, popped it into her mouth, and absentmindedly stared at the bubbling hotpot broth.
A staff member introduced the different types of mushrooms to them. After the explanation, they poured the mushrooms into the pot and repeatedly warned them not to eat anything before the timer went off.
“Smells so good.” Jin MengXuan’s eyes were fixed on the hotpot, visibly itching to try it. “I heard mushroom poisoning can cause hallucinations. I’m kinda curious—what kind of hallucinations would they be?”
The staff member returning with other dishes quickly chimed in, “We don’t recommend trying that, miss. If anything happens, our restaurant would be responsible. Hahaha.”
“The mushrooms need to cook for 25 minutes. In the meantime, you lovely ladies can try some of our side dishes. But please, don’t touch the hotpot yet.”
Jin MengXuan sighed regretfully, taking a sip of the warm pumpkin juice in front of her. But her eyes still lingered on the pot.
The staff, a little spooked, slid a pamphlet on mushroom poisoning symptoms toward her—hallucinations might sound fun, but they often came with abdominal cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, and in severe cases, even death. The warning successfully snuffed out whatever dangerous curiosity she had.
Jiang Zi nudged the pumpkin juice closer to Tang Yuan. “Try it. It’s really good.”
Tang Yuan blinked out of her daze, setting down her fork. She murmured an acknowledgment and wrapped both hands around the cup, sipping slowly.
Suddenly, Jiang Zi called out, “Junior Jin.”
The formality made Jin MengXuan straighten in her seat, caught off guard. “Wh-what is it?”
Jiang Zi glanced at the staff member standing by, still keeping watch. “Sorry, but we won’t be touching the hotpot before the timer goes off. You can take care of other things for now.”
The staff member picked up on the subtle cue, sensing they wanted privacy. After reminding them to ring the bell if they needed anything, they left the private dining room.
Once they were alone, Jiang Zi’s gaze returned to Jin MengXuan. Her dark eyes were calm, deep like still water, yet carried a quiet pressure that was impossible to ignore.
“Junior Jin, I want to know—how did you find out Tang Yuan and I were together in university?”
Tang Yuan’s hand froze mid-sip. Her eyes flicked toward Jiang Zi. Her expression was neutral, voice detached—so convincing that even Tang Yuan, the supposed party involved, nearly believed it herself.
Wait, what?
When did she ever date Jiang Zi in university?
Why was her sister asking such a question?
Jin MengXuan’s nervousness spiked. She asked cautiously, “Is that… supposed to be a secret?”
Had she accidentally exposed some hidden past during today’s livestream, and now she was being ‘invited for a chat’ to seal her lips?
No wonder they’d dragged her along on this late-night dinner date—it was a silencing operation!
Greedy little foodie, always thinking about eating first.
Jin MengXuan quickly clarified, “Don’t worry, sister Jiang, I never meant to cause trouble. I’ll be extra careful from now on.”
Tang Yuan’s mind was spinning, trying to figure out what Jiang Zi was up to. But she knew her sister—this wasn’t intimidation. She genuinely wanted to know.
So she set down her cup and spoke in a gentle tone, “We’re just curious where you heard about it. Was it from a gossip account online?”
Relieved by Tang Yuan’s friendliness, Jin MengXuan relaxed and eagerly answered, “Oh, no, not from gossip accounts. I’ve been following you two for a long time! Back when I started university, I found your couple account on Little Diary.”
“You used to post selfies and little diary entries about your daily lives. I loved reading them!”
She caught herself grinning and quickly reined it in, glancing nervously at their faces. Seeing no signs of anger, she continued, “Later, after you broke up, you deleted everything and deactivated the account.”
Her smile turned wistful. “Seeing you two back together now, still so sweet, really puts me at ease.”
Tang Yuan exchanged a glance with Jiang Zi—both of them seeing the same confusion reflected in each other’s eyes.
What kind of bizarre love story was this, where both parties had no memory of the relationship?
Jiang Zi coughed lightly. “I must’ve forgotten what I wrote back then.”
“Wait, those posts were written by sister Jiang?!” Jin MengXuan’s eyes widened as if she’d just discovered a whole new world. She quickly pulled out her phone, scrolling through her favorites. She’d loved those posts so much she’d saved screenshots of some.
The familiar words made her smile involuntarily—so delicate, so tender. To think they’d been written by the aloof Jiang Zi.
“Sister Jiang, should I send them to you?” Jin MengXuan asked, practically bouncing. “These things are part of your memories—you should have them too!”
She only regretted not saving more. She’d been too confident back then, thinking the posts would always be there. Now, with the account wiped clean, all that remained were the few precious screenshots she’d taken.
The only remaining photo of them together had also been sent to Tang Yuan.
With the conversation already heading in this direction, Jin MengXuan’s curiosity swelled.
“Senior, what was the reason you two broke up back then?”
Tang Yuan was absorbed in the photos Jin MengXuan sent, answering absentmindedly with the truth that slipped from her heart:
“I don’t know either.”
Jin MengXuan instinctively glanced at Jiang Zi. Jiang Zi met her gaze calmly, offering only two words:
“Private matter.”
Alright then.
As an outsider, she really had no right to know.
Jin MengXuan sulked and focused on eating her fried mushrooms.
Jiang Zi leaned in close, looking at the pictures alongside Tang Yuan.
Those captions really were just little snippets of daily life.
With a single glance, Jiang Zi could tell the writing style was hers.
‘She confessed to me again, but I still didn’t say yes. She accused me of playing games and not taking responsibility, but the way she confessed wasn’t serious either—like coaxing a dog.’
‘She still wasn’t serious when she confessed, like it was just a joke—but I agreed. The shocked look on her face said she didn’t expect me to say yes. Later, she kept regretting that half-hearted confession. Little Tang Yuan, with her sesame-filled heart, wanted me to prepare a romantic confession so she could tell everyone I was the one who chased her. No way. Let’s just date in secret for now.’
‘We ran into someone she knew while shopping. She introduced me as her friend. I didn’t really mind—it was a secret relationship after all—but it still made me want to kiss her until she couldn’t speak. So now she’s the one who can’t accept the secrecy anymore?’
There were only three screenshots, along with one photo of them together.
In the photo, the two of them were embracing. Their figures were blurred in the silhouette, the atmosphere taking center stage—but to those involved, the identity of the people in the picture was unmistakable.
That account had once posted clear photos of their faces, but Jin MengXuan hadn’t managed to save those.
Even without memories of this past, neither Tang Yuan nor Jiang Zi offered any denial.
After finishing hotpot and parting ways with Jin MengXuan, the two returned to their hotel room.
