Transmigrated as the Fake Young Master, I’ll Beat up the Scumbags and Bitches

Vol. 1 - Ch. 391 - Playtime Is Over

No one had expected that Gu ZhaoChuan and HuMing would reunite under such circumstances.

On the rooftop, their eyes locked—both blazing with the kind of fury that could tear the other apart.

"HuMing, I always thought you were like chewing gum—sticky and hard to get rid of. Guess I was right."

"Unfortunate for you, I figured out a long time ago that you're the kind of person who'd do anything for personal gain. And now, you've even kidnapped Grandpa? The man who raised you?"

HuMing wasn't in the mood for verbal sparring, but Gu ZhaoChuan had already crossed the line.

Kidnapping Grandpa meant one thing—he had to pay the price.

Gu ZhaoChuan showed no visible reaction to HuMing's words. Perhaps, the moment he made his choice, he'd already understood there was no going back to the Gu family.

And he knew full well—trying to have HuMing assassinated had burned every last bridge.

There was no one in this world he could trust. Not the Gu family. Not Shi Zhong.

Only himself.

"HuMing, what the hell kind of person are you? How did you manage to fight through every obstacle and still end up standing in front of me—stealing everything I had? You should've accepted your fate and disappeared. So why are you still here?!"

He'd asked that same question before—many times.

But some answers, he knew, would never come. The situation had long since spiraled beyond his control.

There was only one path left now: eliminate HuMing.

With that, he lunged, slashing his dagger at HuMing's face.

A few years ago, such an attack wouldn't have come close—but after years of training, Gu ZhaoChuan was no longer who he used to be.

He aimed to kill, striking relentlessly at what looked like an open defense.

But HuMing had already noticed the difference—Gu ZhaoChuan had not only taken Francis's enhancement drugs but also undergone extensive training under his supervision.

The Gu ZhaoChuan standing before him now was indeed a different man.

HuMing struck with a knifehand, landing cleanly on Gu ZhaoChuan's forearm. The dagger clattered to the ground.

In the next blink, HuMing's fist slammed into Gu ZhaoChuan's face.

Blood sprayed from his nose as he stumbled back, crashing into the iron railing. One more misstep, and he'd have fallen off the roof entirely.

He glared at HuMing, wiping the blood from his face.

Even with the enhancements, he hadn't expected the gap between them to remain so wide.

Shi Zhong's warning echoed in his mind.

"I let you take the injections because I need you to finish your task. But if you think that means you can take on HuMing, you better think again. That man is not someone you can handle. Of course, if you're in a rush to die, then forget I said anything."

Only now did Gu ZhaoChuan truly understand how much weight those words carried.

"…What the hell are you, HuMing?" he muttered.

HuMing gazed at Gu ZhaoChuan's battered form, a faint shadow flickering across his eyes.

Even after all these years, he still remembered—the very first person he had to face.

He crouched down, picked up the fallen dagger, and toyed with it in his hand.

"After you killed me, Gu ZhaoChuan, what were you planning? Leave JingDu? Or hope the Gu family would take you back?"

Gu ZhaoChuan gave a crooked grin.

"HuMing, you sound scared."

"Why would I be scared of you?" HuMing asked, genuinely puzzled.

"If you weren't scared, you wouldn't be asking questions like that. You're not so sure of yourself anymore, are you?"

HuMing shook his head, tired of this pointless exchange.

He'd wasted enough time ever since Francis showed up.

If he'd known about the man sooner, he would've killed him long before anyone noticed.

He didn't have some cheat-like system backing him. He had only one thing he could rely on—himself.

"You and I were never from the same world. If not for a twist of fate, we wouldn't even have crossed paths."

"You're right. You shouldn't have crossed my path. You destroyed everything!"

Gu ZhaoChuan's jaw was tight, his muscles bulging with tension.

"Even now, you still think I'm the one who ruined your life?" HuMing narrowed his eyes. "Do you know who you remind me of?"

"Who?"

"Someone you've always treated like a pawn."

"…Han ShuYi?"

"You know what your problem is? Neither of you were ever on my radar. But you—you never stopped staring at me."

HuMing spread his arms wide, as if inviting Gu ZhaoChuan to look closely.

Gu ZhaoChuan's face darkened, his eyes sharp as blades.

But HuMing didn't flinch. He went on.

"You went from fear to jealousy, from jealousy to hatred. You wanted to erase me from this world."

"You said I ruined your lives. That I stole your futures. But really, all those words are just excuses—excuses for your own weakness."

"You want to kill me just to prove that you're not inferior. Han ShuYi was the same."

"But when you finally realized you couldn't compare to me… you couldn't admit it."

"Because admitting it would mean you were worthless all along."

"So you went back to the very beginning—to your obsession with erasing me."

"You need to see me disappear before you can sleep at night."

"But that's the difference between us."

"You're like wolves and hounds, constantly watching my back for a slip-up, afraid to blink for fear of missing your chance to strike. But me? I don't even see you."

"Because…"

"You're too damn stupid."

Whoosh!

The blade whistled through the air—a clean arc aimed straight for Gu ZhaoChuan's forehead.

He flinched just in time, the dagger grazing his cheek and flying past.

When he looked back, HuMing was gone.

Every nerve in Gu ZhaoChuan's body screamed danger.

Then HuMing's voice echoed from the shadows.

"You're just like Han ShuYi—too easily swayed by emotion. You try to act composed, but the moment you hold something that isn't truly yours… your heart can't stop shaking."

"But I'm different. What's mine—I take back!"

HuMing's fist slammed into Gu ZhaoChuan's jaw.

Then another—straight to the temple.

Gu ZhaoChuan dropped like a sack of bricks.

The ancient stone tiles beneath him cracked like spiderwebs.

He struggled to lift his head, gasping unevenly, unable to steady his breath.

HuMing's figure blurred before his eyes—doubled, tripled—but the voice that followed pierced through his ringing ears.

"Playtime's over.

Now it's the adults' turn."
