Transmigrated as the Fake Young Master, I’ll Beat up the Scumbags and Bitches

Vol. 1 - Ch. 387 - Kill Again

Ye QiuXue glanced at the girl beside her. It had been years since they'd spoken. Back then, the girl had always followed HuMing around—officially as his maid, but in truth, HuMing treated her very differently from everyone else.

There was a sense of trust between them—one no one else shared.

"Can't sleep because the hotel bed's uncomfortable?"

The girl beside her still had her eyes closed tightly, yet her words startled Ye QiuXue.

It was hard to imagine what she'd been through in all these years she'd disappeared.

"No, it's just… strange. I never thought we'd end up sharing a bed one day."

Kang Xin was silent for a moment before she replied calmly.

"Desperate times call for desperate measures. JingDu isn't safe anymore. HuMing doesn't want us two out there alone."

She slowly opened her eyes, gaze fixed on the ceiling, lost in thoughts unknown.

Ye QiuXue turned to stare at the ceiling as well, saying nothing.

Han YunXi and Xia XiaoXi were staying together at the Xia residence—they had protection.

But ever since HuMing left her side, she really had become a vulnerability.

As much as she didn't want to admit it, she had become HuMing's weak spot.

The thought annoyed Ye QiuXue to no end.

Yes—annoyed was the right word.

She hated the feeling of being treated like someone's weakness.

"…I figured this day would come eventually."

Just as Ye QiuXue was getting lost in her own frustration, Kang Xin suddenly spoke.

Ye QiuXue turned to her in surprise. The girl's face was blank, like she was stating something as ordinary as the weather.

She slowly turned her head to meet Ye QiuXue's eyes.

Those eyes—calm and clear, like the surface of a still lake—held a strange clarity.

"He can't protect you forever. But he also doesn't want you involved in all this. So the only person who can do what needs to be done… is me."

For some reason, Ye QiuXue felt a hint of—resentment—in Kang Xin's words.

But she wasn't wrong.

Right now, Ye QiuXue had no means to protect herself. She didn't even know when or how someone might try to kill her.

It's not like assassins would yell "I'm going to kill you" on the street.

But she wasn't the type to sit around waiting to die either. If it really came down to it, she'd find a way to survive, no matter what.

Just as she was about to speak, Kang Xin, still curled beneath the blankets, suddenly grabbed her wrist.

Ye QiuXue followed her gaze—toward the door.

The room went deathly quiet. It felt like the entire world had been cut off, as if no living thing existed outside that door.

It was like they had slipped into an entirely unfamiliar world, where no one could predict what might happen next.

Ye QiuXue stared at the electronic lock. And in the next moment, the light on the lock suddenly dimmed.

Her heart tightened.

There was a faint sound—like a key slowly turning in a lock. The door, once securely shut, began to creak open.

It felt like some kind of monster was about to come flooding through from the other side.

Ye QiuXue instinctively looked at Kang Xin. The girl had her back to her, appearing fast asleep.

But her grip on Ye QiuXue's hand said otherwise—it was a silent warning: Don't make a sound.

Ye QiuXue shut her eyes, leaving only a narrow slit, watching the door through the smallest opening.

Click.

The door opened—and a shadow stepped inside.

A man. In his hand, a knife. He moved straight toward the two "sleeping" girls.

To him, it was simple. Kill the girls, finish the job. It was a clean, efficient deal. No loose ends.

He didn't hesitate. Raising the knife, he brought it down toward Kang Xin—

But in that instant, Kang Xin's eyes snapped open.

In her hand—no one knew when she had grabbed it—was a knife of her own.

She struck in one swift, brutal motion, slashing across the man's neck.

He froze mid-swing.

His eyes widened in disbelief.

A thin red line appeared across his throat—then deepened. Blood began to spill, fast and relentless.

Ye QiuXue clamped a hand over her mouth, struggling not to scream.

But her heart was pounding out of control.

A man had just died right in front of her, so easily. It felt like something out of a novel. Even more shocking was how clean Kang Xin's strike had been—so fast she hadn't even seen it.

It was clear now.

This wasn't the first time Kang Xin had done something like this.

What the hell had she been through all these years…?

As Ye QiuXue sat in stunned silence, Kang Xin had already changed her clothes. She turned around, her voice calm.

"We need to go."

"Go where?"

"To the Gu residence. There'll be people there who can protect you."

"…Then why didn't we just go there in the first place?" Ye QiuXue asked.

Kang Xin fell silent.

She hadn't expected Ye QiuXue to stay this composed. She was tougher than expected.

But Ye QiuXue narrowed her eyes and spoke again.

"You wanted me to see this. To witness it. You were afraid I wouldn't be able to stay calm next time something like this happened, weren't you?"

Kang Xin said nothing. She silently wiped the blood from her blade and sheathed it.

"…Sorry. I had to, for HuMing's sake."

She gave a slight bow, as if apologizing.

Ye QiuXue's face was pale, but she managed a faint smile.

She looked at the body on the floor. Blood had soaked deep into the carpet. The man died with his eyes wide open.

"Don't treat me like I'm fragile, I told you—I won't drag you down."

Zero narrowed his eyes at the man in front of him.

After everything he had just said, the man's expression hadn't changed at all—as if none of it mattered to him.

"You're not worried? Everyone connected to you is going to be in danger."

HuMing stared at him silently for a long time. Then, suddenly, he laughed.

"So this is your plan? Kidnap people, threaten me, and expect me to surrender?"

"Yes. That's the game. You're in the light. We're in the dark. As long as you're alive, we'll keep coming for you."

HuMing slowly took off his jacket, glancing at the security camera before fixing his eyes on Zero.

"…You know, I really don't like the name 'Han ShuYi.' That guy's already dead. And now you're telling me he's back again?"

Zero squinted. "…So what?"

HuMing smiled.

"So I'll have to kill Han ShuYi again..."
