Chapter 22: I hope you don't regret your actions

After Qin Yan left, other officers told the head that they needed to head to the hospital quickly. So he got on the ambulance. But in the ambulance, head paramedic remembered that he forgot to ask the lady her name or anything. They didn't even know who she was. If something went wrong with the patient, how would they find her?

After all, If what she said is true and this patient who seems in her 40's is pregnant, It means it's a late pregnancy. Because of the accident it may cause more complications and that woman did the acupuncture. If anything were to go wrong, they could at least blame her for it because she treated the patient first. But now due to his carelessness, he didn't know who she was. At this thought he sighed.

Qin Yan hurriedly escaped from the scene. She had avoided all the cameras and made sure that her face wouldn't be revealed in any of the videos. But if she stayed there for long, she wasn't sure if she would be photographed or videographed.

Just as she thought that she had escaped successfully, she was proven wrong. An old man stopped her in the way. Having a keen sense of vision, she identified him as one of the onlookers from the previous crowd.

The old man was wearing black suit and had gray rimmed spectacles. He was lean and stood straight. His aura was of someone who had seen many ups and downs in his life and he looked like a dignified individual.

The old man stepped towards her and said, "Hello young lady, I am Tang Yin from People's General hospital. I saw you treating the accident victim. May I know which hospital you work for?" Elder Tang asked curiously.

Qin Yan had expected this question. Anybody who saw her actions wouldn't think that she was just a high school student. If her identity was revealed, she would face countless lawsuits for treating a patient without medical license. This was the reason that she avoided all the cameras.

She looked and Elder Tang and after ensuring that he possessed no ill-intentions towards her, she decided to come clean with him, "Hello Elder Tang, my name is Qin Yan and I don't work for any hospital."

Elder Tang was impressed by the attitude of the young lady. Most of the people would resort to flattery once they heard his identity. But the girl in front of him spoke in neither servile nor an overbearing manner. He asked her, "You are a doctor, right?"

"I don't want to lie to you so I will tell the truth. I don't possess any medical license and I am currently in high school," Qin Yan replied truthfully.

Hearing her answer, Elder Tang was baffled. He especially hated people who just gambled with human lives. But remembering her acupuncture techniques, he held back his anger and asked, "You treated that lady without any medical license. You know the consequences of your acts, right? What if her condition deteriorates? Will you be able to take responsibility?"

Qin Yan smiled at Elder Tang and said confidently, "The lady will be fine. I am sure of that. If anything goes wrong with her, you can come and find me. I am a student of Shengyang high school."

Qin Yan assured him because she was confident of her skills. Once she treated the lady, the latter would have no problems, she was sure of that.

Elder Tang was surprised seeing her confidence. He could not determine whether it was her confidence or over-confidence. 'It seems like I need to observe the patient before I can come to a decision.'

He had approached Qin Yan because he wanted to poach her to his hospital. But after hearing the truth, he decided that the best move now would be to wait and watch.

"Okay, young lady. Thanks for your time. I will look for you if something happens. I hope you don't regret your actions today," saying this Elder Tang left with heavy footsteps.

Qin Yan was deep in thought. She knew Elder Tang and People's hospital in her previous life. What she was thinking was if Elder Tang approached her again, how would she explain her capabilities! With these thoughts in mind, she continued walking towards her house.

Reaching her residence, Qin Yan took a shower and took out the surgical materials to practice. Today she experienced her weaknesses while treating the accident victim. Her mental fortitude was strong otherwise her hands wouldn't stop shaking. She needed to practice. She started back from the basics.

She practiced with an epidural needle and a piece of cardboard. When she felt comfortable enough, she moved onto newspapers and pillows. As she threaded the needle through the fabric of the pillows, even though her hands had gotten steadier, she couldn't stop her palms from sweating.

This reminded her of her internship at the emergency wing of the hospital. When she started her clinical posting, her hands were constantly shaking.

Before, when she was dealing with the dead, her hands never trembled, but the moment a living person was placed before her, her hands couldn't stop shaking. However, she had gotten over that challenge once, she was confident she could do it again.

Suddenly, Qin Yan felt a prick on her finger.
