Tohka Yatogami's: Marvel Journey

Chapter 7: Naturally Clumsy?

"Tohka, you're here. These are the clothes I had Pepper buy for you. She noticed when she helped you to bed earlier that you didn't have any spare clothes, so I asked her to pick some up."

"...."

Speechless, Tohka stared at the boxes almost as big as herself. Was this just "some"? It felt like more clothes than she had owned in her entire previous life. As expected of the rich.

"You can go ahead and sort through them. I've also ordered a lot of materials this time, so I'll need Pepper's help later. For now, just take some time to get familiar with American society. That's something I can't help you with." Seeing Tohka staring blankly at the boxes, Tony assumed she didn't know what to do and offered an explanation.

"Alright, got it." After hearing Tony's words, Tohka picked up several boxes as big as herself and wobbled toward her room under Tony's incredulous gaze.

Bang.

"Oww..." Because the boxes were too large and the door too narrow, she ran straight into it and was buried under the scattered clothes. She went silent, scaring Tony enough to almost rush over to check on her.

Moments later, Tohka groggily emerged from the pile of clothes, gathered them up, and dragged everything into her room, shutting the door with a bang.

"Is she some kind of ox? How is she so strong?" Tony knew how heavy those boxes were; he couldn't have carried them all at once. Then he thought of Tohka's giant sword, easily over ten meters long, and let it go. Turning back to the mountain of boxes behind him, he sank into deep thought.

"Tohka, are you there? Help me out!" By now, Tony regretted sending everyone else away. Some of these boxes contained a lot of metal, and just thinking about moving them made his stomach hurt.

"Did Pepper really buy these? Feels more like Tony's doing." The assortment of clothes was impressive, with styles for every season, from winter to summer, nothing left out. Among them were a few elegant yet revealing evening gowns, which made Tohka's eyelids twitch.

That wasn't even the worst of it. The most awkward part was the massive pack of lingerie—white, black, sexy, pure, you name it. But that wasn't the key issue. The real kicker was that they were all the perfect size. Classic Tony Stark, the expert. Tohka almost wanted to storm out and give him a good beating.

"Tohka, are you there?" Tony's voice came from the door as he knocked. At least he knew better than to barge in, or Tohka would've torn him to pieces. After all, she was currently completely undressed, trying on the clothes.

"Huff, huff…" Looking at herself in the mirror, Tohka couldn't help but let out a deep breath. As expected of a Spirit favored by the heavens, her body was flawless—neither too much nor too little of anything.

In her previous life as an otaku, she had watched certain "films" from a particular country. But seeing herself now, she almost couldn't hold back. If not for the urgent knocking on the door, she might have started exploring the "secrets" of her own body. However, she managed to resist.

"I'll be right there. Just a moment," she called out. Quickly sifting through the piles of clothes, she opted for conservative underwear and a neutral athletic outfit, as she didn't have the courage to wear the more feminine styles yet. Then she dashed out of the room.

"Finally, you opened the door. Come help me move these materials to my basement." Tony didn't think too much about why Tohka had taken so long to open the door. After all, women tended to try on new clothes one by one, and he knew how many he had bought. In fact, if Tohka had outright ignored him, he wouldn't have found it strange.

What surprised him instead was how quickly she had come out.

"Be careful with these. Some of them are precision instruments, so I'll handle those. The rest I'll leave to you." Tony trusted Tohka's strength but not her temperament. That was why he preferred to wait for Pepper. He could already imagine that if Tohka tried to help him with something delicate, he might end up dead before she figured out where to plug the cables.

"Got it. Leave it to me." Tohka didn't think much about Tony's concerns. She picked up several large boxes and headed for the basement. Watching this, Tony's eyelid twitched. My God, those boxes are full of metal. Even lightweight, high-grade materials aren't exactly light. How strong is she?

"Slow down! This isn't just clothes. If you hit a wall and drop it, someone could get seriously hurt."

"Duct tape, ahhh…."

Bang.

"Are you okay?" Before Tohka could even finish speaking, Tony heard a loud crash, followed by the sound of things clattering to the floor. Startled, he dropped the papers he was holding and ran over.

"Dizzy…" Tony saw Tohka sitting on the ground, looking dazed, surrounded by a chaotic mess of scattered metal objects. Then, as if nothing had happened, she stood up, gathered the items, and carried them toward the basement.

"This girl… how tough is she?" Watching Tohka shrug it off, Tony found himself wanting to dissect her out of sheer curiosity. Getting hit by all that stuff would have left even a strong man bleeding or with serious injuries. Yet she walked away completely fine.

"Forget it, let her be, as long as she doesn't cause any trouble." Unable to figure it out, Tony decided to stop thinking about it and returned to carefully carrying the instruments himself. These were all tools for building his armor—each one priceless and extremely hard to acquire. Some of the items weren't even for sale at his own company; without the right connections, money alone wouldn't get them.

"Thanks. I'll be spending a lot of time in the basement from now on. If you need anything, just tell Jarvis. I've already given you some access permissions." Tony was still a little nervous about clumsy Tohka. He genuinely feared she might accidentally do something disastrous.

Over the next period, he planned to focus entirely on completing his armor project.

"Got it, I understand." Nodding at Tony's words, Tohka left. She wasn't interested in the armor at all. Besides, her knowledge of physics was only at the level of a typical high schooler, so she wouldn't understand much even if she stayed. It was better to just leave.
