This Danzo Is Weird!

Chapter 46: 46. Revenge

Land of Fire, Konoha, Hokage's Office.

As the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi had lost count of how many cigarettes he had smoked that day.

But no amount of smoke could suppress the anger burning inside him.

His hands trembled as he held the letter in his grasp.

"That damn Danzo! What does he take me, the Hokage, for?!"

Indeed, the letter in Sarutobi's hand was from Danzo, written before he left Kikyo Mountain.

It detailed Danzo's next move, and its general content was as follows:

> "To prevent Konoha from being dragged into an endless war, I plan to head to the Water Country battlefield with Minato to replace that useless Mitokado Homura. Once we defeat the Kirigakure forces, I will use a pincer attack against Sunagakure as leverage to force Kirigakure into peace talks, thereby compelling Sunagakure to retreat."

> "In the meantime, Tsunade will take charge of Kikyo Mountain."

> "However, that fool Homura will likely cause trouble. Issue a reassignment order for him immediately so he doesn't interfere with my plan."

The moment Sarutobi read the letter, he was utterly stunned.

At that moment, he wasn't sure who was truly the Hokage—himself or Shimura Danzo.

The worst part was, given the current situation, Sarutobi realized he had no choice but to cooperate with Danzo.

If this highly risky plan failed, Konoha would likely face a catastrophic two-front collapse.

At that point, Iwagakure and Kumogakure would pounce like ravenous tigers, tearing Konoha apart.

Thus, his only option was to go along with Danzo's plan.

Frustrated beyond words, Sarutobi reluctantly issued the reassignment order for Mitokado Homura, all the while clenching his teeth and cursing, "Danzo, just you wait! When you get back, I'll make sure you regret this!"

Frontlines.

The decision to publicly display the bodies and weapons of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist had an immediate and dramatic effect.

Within just half an hour, word had spread throughout the entire camp.

The sight of these once-terrifying enemies—now reduced to lifeless corpses on display like butchered pigs—completely erased the fear and despair in the hearts of Konoha's ninjas.

That fear transformed into an overwhelming sense of pride and fury!

Now, they were desperate to restore their honor. They craved revenge—swift, brutal, and absolute!

Danzo was more than satisfied with this atmosphere.

He used Earth Release to construct a platform in the middle of the camp, then climbed onto it, shirtless.

His chest and back were covered in deep scars—marks of battle, proof of his survival.

The moment Danzo appeared, all eyes in the camp turned to him.

Because they knew—this was the man who had annihilated the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, the nightmare that had haunted them for so long!

"Konoha warriors!"

Danzo's voice was hoarse, yet it carried clearly to every corner of the camp.

As soon as he spoke, the entire camp fell into silence.

Wasting no time on unnecessary theatrics, he got straight to the point:

"I want to know—can you defeat Kirigakure?"

His first words alone made every ninja present flush with anger and shame.

They were shinobi. And like all shinobi, they carried their pride.

Now, Danzo was openly questioning their strength—who could tolerate such an insult?!

Someone immediately shouted in response:

"Of course we can!"

  Immediately, more voices erupted:

"That's right, we can defeat them!"

"Of course, we can!"

"Lord Danzo, lead us into battle again!"

Danzo raised a hand and gently pressed it down in the air, signaling them to quiet down.

Once the crowd settled, he continued in an unshakable tone:

"I want to remind all of you—we are Konoha shinobi!"

"We are the first ninja village in the world! We possess the strongest secret techniques, the strongest bloodlines, and the strongest shinobi!"

"We inherit the will of the God of Shinobi, Hashirama Senju!"

"The blood of Konoha flows through our veins! The Will of Fire is etched into our minds! We carry the honor of Konoha on our backs!"

With every sentence Danzo spoke, the backs of the shinobi straightened further.

This was the pride and glory of being part of Konoha—the first great ninja village. And Danzo's words had ignited that pride completely.

Standing atop the platform, Danzo's gaze was as commanding as a wolf king surveying his pack.

"Iwagakure attacks us. Kumogakure and Sunagakure also seek war with us. And now, Kirigakure wants to join the fray as well!"

"Then let them come!"

Danzo's raspy voice rose in intensity.

"Right now, at this very moment, our comrades are dying on the battlefield! Our families are perishing! Our village is bleeding!"

"Tell me, all of you—what should we do?!"

The shinobi below had been completely roused. Their blood boiled with fury and determination.

"Revenge!"

No one knew who shouted it first, but the moment the word was spoken, it spread like wildfire.

"Revenge! Revenge! Revenge!!!"

"Strike back against Kirigakure!!!"

A faint smile appeared at the corner of Danzo's lips. Amidst the deafening battle cries, he raised his arm high.

"For Konoha! Victory is ours!"

The roaring voices suddenly aligned into one unified chant as every shinobi raised their fists:

"For Konoha! Victory is ours!"

Even the ground trembled beneath the force of their thundering cries.

At this moment, clan divisions no longer mattered—Uchiha, Hyuga, common shinobi, and all others became one. They shared a single identity: Konoha shinobi!

Watching this scene of absolute unity, Hyuga Hizashi couldn't help but sigh in admiration.

"What an incredible ability to rally people."

Uchiha Fugaku looked at Danzo with deep yearning. When would he gain such commanding influence?

Even Minato couldn't help but be impressed.

"As expected of Lord Danzo."

After making all the necessary arrangements, Danzo finally sought out Minato.

"From now on, these shinobi are under your command. Don't disappoint me."

For Minato, this was both a challenge and a test.

Unlike the battle at the Land of Earth's front, where Jiraiya was his safety net, this time he was truly on his own. Whether he could lead and control the Uchiha and Hyuga clans would depend entirely on his own abilities.

Feeling Danzo's trust in him, Minato was deeply moved.

He reached out and firmly grasped Danzo's hand.

"I won't let you down, Lord Danzo."

Danzo patted Minato's hand in response.

"Good. Now go!"

With that, he hesitated no longer. Wings unfolded behind him as he soared westward at top speed.

As Danzo vanished into the distance, Minato's gaze hardened with determination.

"Scout teams will consist of one reconnaissance ninja and two combat personnel. Locate Kirigakure's forces as fast as possible!"

"All other squads, assemble immediately—we march at once!"

"Revenge!"
