[Comment: An ordinary dissection experiment]

[Academic Points Acquired: 6→26 points]

Having completed the dissection notes on the "Saint Radiance Beetle of the Lord of Golden Worship," Lucy put down her quill. She waited for the ink to fully dry on the parchment before closing the "Anatomy Notes."

The wound on her shoulder blade still throbbed faintly, yet she seemed completely unaware.

She was now on the second floor of the morgue, which was the area for official apprentices. The room number was still the familiar "Morgue No. 66."

The corpses requiring dissection here were stronger but fewer in number.

Most of the enchanted beasts were at the peak of Tier-0, and there were even Tier-1 enchanted organs.

However...

"Seven full days... Even if Tower Master dissected her, there should be some traces left. Why is there no word at all?"

It had been seven days since she returned to the Tower of the Four Sages.

Mentor Fernando had only questioned her on the night of her return, and Olivia had completely disappeared after being taken to meet the Tower Master.

This abnormal silence left Lucy deeply uneasy.

Lucy took off her plague doctor mask and leather apron, locked the morgue door, and headed toward the main tower.

Her room had been moved to the sixth floor, where most of the residents were basic apprentices.

Not only was the environment of the common areas much better, but the room itself had also been upgraded into a suite like Blaji's, with a private meditation room, kitchen, reception room, and even a tea room.

She absentmindedly unlocked the door, only to pause when she noticed an extra suitcase by the entrance. The rich aroma of butter immediately filled the air.

Walking through the corridor.

At some point, the once-empty kitchen shelves had been stocked with various spices. A tall, black-haired girl was humming a tune that did not belong to this world, carefully placing a fine piece of steak into a cast-iron pan.

With a loud sizzle, the black-haired girl covered her ears and stumbled back in a panic, bumping right into Lucy’s amused gaze.

"When did you—" Olivia’s ears instantly turned bright red. "My steak!"

Lucy skillfully flipped the steak with a spatula.

"Since you started singing 'Waiting for You to Come Back.'"

She turned off the magical energy stove and casually sized up this intruder.

Olivia's eyes sparkled. "You can even flip a pan!"

Lucy shrugged. "I lived alone in a rented apartment for two years in my previous life. Stir-frying, deep-frying, and pan-frying were daily routines. But speaking of which, you’ve been missing for quite some time. Didn’t the Tower Master slice you up for research?"

"They just monitor my law fluctuations daily." Olivia raised her chin, her princess-like demeanor completely different from her earlier panic. "Tower Master Derrick and Mentor Fernando confirmed that what I awakened was the Law of Time."

Lucy wasn’t surprised about the Law of Time. After all, plenty of knowledge about the Law of Time had been poured into her mind as well; she just hadn’t mastered it yet.

"So, does that mean you can now reverse time anytime you want?"

Olivia suddenly slumped her shoulders in frustration.

"Not at all. Besides that burst when I saved you, I can’t even move the second hand now."

Tower Master Derrick and Mentor Fernando had also tested her. Although Olivia had already awakened, perhaps due to her inherently low magical energy, the Law of Time was nearly impossible for her to use.

As for that previous instance, first, it was caused by the law running out of control right after her awakening; second, it could only be attributed to her desperation to save someone.

Lucy was not surprised by this explanation either.

"Wait!" Lucy suddenly interrupted Olivia’s words. "Did you just say Mentor Fernando?"

Olivia revealed a cunning smile.

"There are no wizards in the Tower of the Four Sages who major in Chronology, and the Law of Time isn’t exactly the same as the Chronological School either. He gave me two choices."

"One was to recommend me to study at the Star Law Institute as a witch of the Tower of the Four Sages. The other was to stay here, and he would go to the Star Law Institute to borrow books related to the Law of Time for me. I chose the latter."

"Then he let me pick a mentor, so I chose Mentor Fernando just like you. From now on, you’re my senior sister!"

Lucy’s brow twitched slightly.

"So you moved into my dormitory?"

Olivia replied confidently, "Senior Lilith let me choose a dorm room. I saw that the tower doesn’t prohibit shared rooms, so I picked yours."

"After all, it’s better for us to continue researching 'Genetic Resonance' together."

Although the two of them had established a "more intimate physical connection," they hadn’t yet had the chance to explore its mysteries in depth because Olivia had been absent since returning to the tower.

Since this was a new feature introduced by the system, Lucy believed it wouldn’t disappoint her.

"Are you sure that’s the reason?"

"Of course!" Olivia replied firmly.

"Fine, the room’s big enough. You can stay wherever you like."

Lucy did not expose Olivia’s flushed ears, nor did she mention the fact that there was only a single bed in the room.

"Mentor Fernando also told you to teach me the complete 'Bramble Loop Meditation.'"

"Got it." Lucy nodded seriously. "Junior! Sister!"

"You better work hard, or I’ll surpass you easily, Senior! Sister!"

Several sandglass turns later

Lying on her back on the bed, Olivia gazed idly through the half-open door at Lucy, who was busy in the laboratory.

Lucy first fed a piece of burnt steak one Olivia had accidentally ruined while cooking to the "cancerous brain tumor" inside a glass jar. Then she organized several newly added enchanted specimens on the shelves, and finally opened the "Anatomy Notes" to attempt constructing the witchcraft model of the "Saint Radiance Beetle of the Lord of Golden Worship."

Olivia admitted that the focused witch girl was indeed very attractive, but all these enchanted specimens soaked in preservation fluid were simply too dull.

Although she had become a disciple of Mentor Fernando, she had no interest in the Anatomy School.

Moreover, Wizard Fernando did not plan to teach her the knowledge of the Anatomy School. She was merely waiting for the Tower Master to bring back the Star Law Institute’s texts related to "Time Witch."

After her fifth modeling failure, Lucy closed the "Notes" and gently massaged her dizzy head with both small hands.

Though the principle of "Saint Radiance" shared many underlying similarities with "magical veins," the two belonged to entirely different developmental paths.

In terms of terminology from her previous life’s games the models built through magical veins were like "active skills," while the etched Saint Radiance was closer to "passive skills."

The former operated by constructing models in the sea of mental strength, while the latter needed to be etched onto physical carriers such as skin and bone.

This area of knowledge was something Lucy had not yet studied and had no clue where to start.

"I’ll go see Mentor Fernando tomorrow."

Lucy murmured to herself.
