Chapter 448: Last Night
(From Blue's Perspective)
"There is no way you are here to accompany me, leaving your own kingdom!" I gasped as I found Evan one morning, right when I went to the dining hall for breakfast.
"It's a surprise," Evan said. He was glancing frequently at my stomach as if he was very surprised. "You look… really beautiful, my friend. I think more beautiful than ever."

It was clear that he meant it. Dem looked annoyed by my side, as he hastily pulled me with him, although with enough care so I would not get hurt or anything, and pulled a chair out for me to sit, beside him.
"Her Highness's pregnancy only increased her beauty, for Her Highness has always been quite a beauty," Ruby said.
"That is true, indeed," Evan nodded and took a seat upon my request.
Calix and Perita were at the table as well. Perita was eating like crazy while Calix did not start yet. He was waiting for us to start, which was a form of good manners. But our Perita did not care about all that and among us, no one could mind any less of her manners, as it had become a habit to observe her that way.
"I still cannot get used to seeing you like this though. It feels weird, not in a bad way though," Evan said.
"Well, last time you saw me, I was in a different state, at least, my body. Now, the baby bump is quite big," I said, with a smile. Every time I thought of my baby, my mind was filled with pure joy and anticipation.
"Doesn't it… like, make it hard for you to walk? You know, having a bump on your stomach… Doesn't it weigh you down or something?"
"Not necessarily. I can walk pretty easily. I just have cramps sometimes and I cannot bend much," I said. "I got used to some restrictions now. So, it is not that hard. I just wish I did not have so much bad feelings, like nauseous and dizziness, after eating," I said.
"That will go on for a while, I am afraid," Doctor Dimitri said as he entered the room. He was to have breakfast with us as well, just got a little late. "My apologies for making you all wait. You could have started before me."
"We have come here just now as well," I said. "Please sit down, Doctor Dimitri."
He took a seat by Ruby. They shared silent greetings while the food was served and drinks were poured by the maids. Dem stopped drinking the moment my pregnancy was found out as if to let me know I was not alone.
"Have you gotten a letter recently from Luc?" I asked, looking at Ruby.
She gave a nod. "Just yesterday," she replied. "He said he is fine. The deaths on our side is less than the other. But he suspects things will be more serious and dangerous in the near future."
"Yes, that is why I will go tomorrow," Dem said.
That night was probably the night when I felt utterly helpless, more than I ever felt in the last two years. I could not cry, I could not say anything. As we returned to our bedroom, I could only think of what might happen in case something bad happened to him. What if he died?
The negative possibilities filled my head and I could not think straight most of the time. I hated my mind for thinking that way and not hoping for the best possibilities.
As soon as we entered the room as if both of our minds and bodies were in synch, we embraced each other.
I had no idea who was kissing the other one harder. Dem tore off the dress I was wearing with one hand while I got busy taking his clothes off. It was a chaotic moment.
We were on the bed within a moment. Dem was impatient, but careful because I was pregnant. My face was burning up.
I cupped his face and looked deep into his eyes, during the break of our kiss. His eyes were pitch black, inhumane, and unbelievably mesmerizing. They were like black holes, pulling everything towards them and never giving them back, just like he pulled my love and it was always there for him no matter the situation.
"You are beautiful," I mumbled, still gazing into those black gems as if it was pulling me toward them.
He did not say anything. Usually, he would protest and tell me not to call him beautiful. But this time, he did not say anything.
I pulled my face up and my lips brushed against him. I let out a breath on his face and kissed the tip of his nose, then his forehead and his cheeks. After that, I placed my lips on his.
At first, it was a soft kiss. But then, the moment I opened my lips, it was not a soft kiss anymore, not that I wanted it to be at all.
His hands went to my chest to grope my breasts. I loved it when he played with my nipples. His hands were cold, so he whenever he twisted them, it was painful but really good. Some pains were good, even when it was not supposed to be.
"Hnn…"
I was breathless. He always kissed me until I ran out of breath. It was as if he liked it when I panted.
He targeted my ear next as he started nibbling my earlobe. I wrapped my legs around his waist and pulled him closer than he already was. He was surprised. He let out a chuckle and started kissing my neck and all over me.
I left marks on him just like he left marks on me. Both of us were aware that it was the last night before he would go to the war. None of us wanted to mention it but show it with our acts.
The night was young. There was not enough time on our hands, but we wanted to make the best use of the time we had. I could not shake off the feeling that I might be seeing him for the last time. The awful thought kept invading my mind. He avowed that it would never happen, but I was not sure.
He pulled my legs apart and put his face between them. In a moment, I felt something hot against my womanhood. I gasped and jerked up at the sudden sensation.
"Ahh!"
His tongue made me dig my fingers into the bedsheets. I felt my toes curling up again and again.
"Ah! Uhn…!"
But the night was still young. By morning, I should not expect to have a good throat.
