The Villain's Story

Chapter 704: [704] Kizmal(16).

Chapter 704: [704] Kizmal(16).

Naturally, Kizmal possessed a strange physique. He was not normal, and the hearts were perhaps the only normal thing about it.

They made sense, they were expected his sheer size warranted them. But there were irregularities in him.

It was unknown if Sabrina should call them irregularities or not, but they just seemed that way to her.

In multiple places in his body, there were sacs of lightning.

How odd were those words? Liquid lightning, stored in sacs in his gigantic body, each sac the size of a football field.

He had organs for lightning, that was not unprecedented considering he was a lightning giant. But the form was strange.

It was literally liquid lightning. It was not mana, not electrical mana... But pure lightning, in a liquid form.

When she first noticed it, she didn't know why it was there. Why was it even there?

Could he not just generate lightning with his mana? If he wanted to store it, in case of an emergency... Why in that form?

She didn't have the answer to that question, and honestly, at this moment she really did not care. She just found her target.

There was one such sac right above his scapula! It was not even hidden underneath titanic bone! Bone that she would have no chance at destroying.

At first, she had doubts about it. What if it was a trap? After all, what good would come out of attacking something like that? It could explode right in front of her! And an explosion like that would be deadly.

But then again... Logic overcame fear of it being a trap, because why would an organism develop such a thing? For lesser ones... Maybe, but that was no lesser organism.

It needed to have a use beneficial for Kizmal, it should have a beneficial use!

She may not know what it was, but she knew she could take it out... She could damage it. If she hit that sac, and opened it up, the lightning would spread around in directions...

She would be rendering something the fragment could utilize useless, and if it did damage to Kizmal... It was a bonus.

So, for the time she had been here, she had shifted her attention from trying to destroy the drums to attacking that sac.

And she had been doing just that... It was just... Hard. It was difficult to withstand a storm of lightning and manage a spell as well.

She had already used many, many spells on Kizmal already. All of them were meant to debilitate the giant in some sort of way. Reduce his speed, weaken his skin, halt his thoughts...

But the one she was preparing right now was an offensive spell. Mana reacted to many things, it flowed well in a circle, hence the foundation of circle sorcery, as basic as it was, mana reacted well to certain symbols, the foundation of runic sorcery.

It responded to words as well, one of the purest expressions of one's own will. Mana listened to it, responded in the form of magic. However... such a task was incredibly difficult at the moment.

She was constructing a circle, using words, especially the sorcery of names to amplify and express, and also using runic sorcery as well. Had it been just what she had learned, this would have been done in an instant.

After all, a picture-perfect memory was suitable for moments like these... But she was inventing something else, something far greater. She wasn't so stupid to do such a thing during an incredibly dire moment like this... But she had no choice.

Necessity was the mother of invention, and right now, she really needed to invent something. What drove her was no sense of innovation or creativity a genius had... But the desire to kill the giant in front, or at the very least, deal a fatal blow.

She had been taught the basics, and although she had learned and memorized quite a few circles and runes, as well as learnt important names... Nothing she knew was going to do anything to the skin of the Giant.

She felt it would not, her hurdle was only one, only the skin, no flesh, no muscle, no bone, only mere skin. Yet, she had to use all the types of sorcery she had learnt and create a fusion of a spell.

And she was on the very cusp of it... Blood dripped down her nose, yet floated in the last second as her spell was complete, and the darkness coalesced around her feet disappeared.

A circle of dark, purplish glowing lines was present before her, just outside the torrent of absolute mayhem. It was as large as a house, and it disappeared as soon as it appeared. The various symbols, intricate lines, and components disappeared.

"Strike...true."

Sabrina muttered, as a mass of darkness encased in whirling storms of ice appeared, it took the form of a lance, crude yet enough. It had many symbols and letters on top of it, yet at this moment... Who knew what they meant? It was spinning far too fast for anyone to notice, really.

They also were not in the ideal situation at the moment to decipher a mass of runes on top of a lance of darkness encased in ice. Nevertheless, Sabrina continued as she jumped off the drum.

"Strike deep."

This time, there was no exhaustion in her voice. She had recovered her stamina with the help of a rune engraved on her body. One that held within it a rudimentary healing spell. It was leagues below the rune which helped her control, or rather unleash her inner desires, but it did the job. She had many such on her body, hidden just beneath her porcelain skin.

The lance went forth, and very soon, it made contact with the skin soon enough, bolts of lightning had tried to interfere, yet the chunks of ice had thwarted them off. Sabrina preferred to use Earth, but it was too expensive in terms of mana. Using the water all around them due to the storm was much more efficient.

A pair of wings manifested above her, not enough to give her capable flight, but enough to make her steady. And alas, her attack connected.
