Chapter 703: [703] Kizmal(15).
As the scalding hot blood rippled down his blade and unto his hands, Alexander could not help but scream as his skin was grafted into the handle of his swords in a tortuous manner.
It was something inhumane, but he was also doing something no human would ever even fathom doing, so he should have been prepared for this. He had been told of how the blood of the fragment was... but this was an entirely different level.
He calmed his screams down as the blood flowed down his arms, he had to think quickly, lest it would cover his entire body. He had heard from Kazikato what happened to Alan when that happened, and he was not keen on doing the same.
Circulating his mana in his mouth, he blew. He was casting wind magic, one that was weak in offensive and defensive capabilities, but suited for this. He created a sort of barrier at the tsuba of his swords, one that expelled the blood outwards, away from his body. He hoped it would not fall on anyone down there...
'It shouldn't be that hot after falling from here...'
He thought as he gritted his teeth, containing his scream. All this climbing was taking a toll on him, and he still had a large distance to travel in this weird manner.
Nevertheless, he had to do it.
"Ugh..."
He needed to do it.

Amidst the harsh winds and the torrent of lightning that came upon her like rain, Sabrina was having an equally hard time. Kizmal had noticed her, and that was the worst omen. It was incredibly hard to keep her balance on top of strange instruments on the back of a mountainous giant.
Especially after her ears had been blown off, the ears played an essential part in balancing the human body. The fluid within the inner ear, in the semicircular canals was probably gone, without it, she was having a difficult time, as well as everyone else.
She didn't know how such a loss would affect the nonhumans, like Edward, Kazikato and Alexander, their bodies were special, and she was unaware of their biology, but she did know about a human.
It was difficult to tell where was up, where was down, it was difficult to know if she was standing or not, and extremely difficult to even do something. And she was doing many things at once.
She was barely managing a defense against the torrent of lightning raining down on her, the fierce winds threatened to throw her off, and the mass of darkness she had coalesced around her feet, her desperate attempt to stay grounded was being slaughtered.
Yes, slaughtered. The darkness was losing mass every second as the lightning that she could not block or redirect was aimed at it. Kizmal knew of her existence, and he was playing with her.
She was simply thankful Kazikato was keeping it busy. Kizmal was ruthless when against him, but it was arrogant facing them. She knew what most did not.
The giant was playing with them, it knew what everyone was doing, but it paid attention only to Kazikato, it was fully hell-bent on killing Kazikato, and only because a dragon was here, were they spared... for now.
It was scary, horrifying even. When against a dragon it was going all out, but against humans? It was almost amused as to what they were doing. She knew Kizmal could get rid of her at any second if Kazikato was not drawing its attention. It would be easy for it as well.
It only considered the dragon here a threat, and it was hell-bent on eliminating it. Nevertheless, it gave her ample time to analyze this damned giant.
'Just keep focusing on him... you fucker.'
She never really cursed a lot, even in her mind. But it seemed that being with Alan was having an effect on her. He cursed like he was breathing, after all.
Well, she didn't mind it. It was actually a great way to relieve tension and stress, one that she needed to do desperately right now!
She had found a lot of the giant, thanks to everyone buying her time, and it was exactly why she had instructed Edward to strike the thighs of this mountainous being. It was not to bring it to its knees... but to do some internal damage.
Kizmal had fifty-six hearts. It was only natural for a being of his size to have that many hearts, yet it was also surprising.
After all, large organisms had multiple hearts for proper circulation. The larger it was, the more it would need. A single heart could pump blood only until it lost pressure. But then again, that law was only beholden to the ordinary organisms.
There were many animals in Earth's history to have more than one heart, but this... this was a magical giant, One that ate stars for sustenance, according to Kazikato. Granted, it was only a fragment of its former might, but it was still an incredible challenge for them.
The main heart was the size of a twenty-story building, and located in the chest, as expected. There was no way they would even get to it at all... But what about the rest?
What if she could destroy the rest, and kill this thing from the inside? Could she even do it? A normal organism would die, but what about this abominable giant? There was only one way to find out...
There was a heart in each thigh. The other hearts were the size of a house, but the skin around the thighs was honestly...penetrable. They were also not covered by any thick muscles. It was strange, but it was an opportunity nonetheless.
And she didn't have the leisure to complain about faulty biology in this case. She had originally wanted Kazikato to target that area, but he was busy as it was. She was unaware of whatever Alexander was doing, so that left only Edward.
And she really hoped Edward would succeed... and on that note.
She needed to succeed on her target as well.
