The Villain’s Perspective

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: I killed a hero

"Didn't you hear what I said?"

The red guard threatened the white guard standing next to Lucifer. His killing intent was so obvious that Lucifer couldn't stand still. Normally, he would have lost his balance, but he forced himself to stand as steady as possible.

Just a small action was enough to make the red guard paid attention to Lucifer.

On the other hand, the guard standing next to Lucifer still didn't say anything.

Seeing this, the red guard pulled out a gun with intricate patterns carved along the gun body. It could be seen that this gun was much more special than normal ones.

The guard next to Lucifer unconsciously stepped back after noticing the gun being pulled out.

Immediately after, a gunshot rang out. The bullet pierced through the white guard's thigh, causing him to fall to the floor immediately. The clean white floor was now dirty due to blood flowing from the wound.

"You bastard!" The white guard shouted, it was obvious that he was a hero who had infiltrated here.

The hero groped all over his body as if he wanted to find something. 1 second, 2 seconds, 3 seconds, 10 seconds had passed but the hero could not find what he wanted. The hero immediately quivered.

On the other hand, the red guard remained still to see what the hero would take out but was disappointed after seeing his body shaking like a leaf.

"Die."

The guard raised his gun to the hero's head. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, the hero used all his strength to knock the gun away. He then became invisible.

'So that is an Ability.'

The red guard then ordered Lucifer, who was standing next to the hero, to chase after him. With no other choice, Lucifer had to obey if he wanted to live.

Although the hero had turned invisible and ran away, his blood was not. It was still very visible, so Lucifer just had to follow the blood trail.

He didn't need to worry about being ambushed because one of the hero's legs was almost immobile. Coupled with the amount of blood that had flowed out, the hero's death was only a matter of time.

Lucifer followed the blood trail, recognizing that he had arrived at the 6th floor without realizing it. The blood trail ended at the pig pen, the hero must have gone there.

Without hesitation, Lucifer entered the pig pen. He held his gun in his hand because his opponent was a professional hero, so it was likely that a dagger wouldn't be enough to fight him.

'What is this?'

Unexpectedly, the hero had collapsed onto the filthy ground, completely motionless. The hero could no longer hold on.

Lucifer knelt down, bringing himself closer to the hero.

"Any last words?"

"Yes, please…destroy this lab…for me…" The hero struggled to form each word.

"I have…an item…to call for help…from other heroes…" The hero continued.

Lucifer took out a white orb-shaped item that was as tiny as a marble he had picked up just now and brought it closer to the hero.

"Is this it?"

The hero was amazed to see that Lucifer had the item, he didn't say anything but nodded. His death was approaching.

"I will fulfill your wish."

Lucifer put the orb back in his pocket and pulled out a gun. He pointed it at the hero.

Lucifer hesitated for a moment but then decided to shoot him in the head. The bullet was fired, penetrating the hero's brain, killing him instantly.

This wasn't his first time killing someone, but for some reason, Lucifer felt quite uncomfortable after killing the hero. It was different from when he killed the black man.

Maybe his first time killing someone was for survival, but he didn't have any noble purpose in killing the hero. He was simply following orders from his superiors.

Or was it because the hero was a good person, and he felt regretful for killing him?

Lucifer stared at the hero's face after he died. He was smiling.

'It's hard to understand.'

***

After completing the assigned task, Lucifer walked out of the pig pen, leaving the pigs to deal with the hero's corpse.

He took the hero's uniform and returned it to the red guard, who was sitting on the first floor, reporting that he had completed the task. The red guard took the uniform and informed Lucifer that he would be rewarded for completing the task.

Hearing that, Lucifer bowed to the guard and returned to his room.

Before going down to the second floor, Lucifer stopped by the cafeteria to buy some food for Mask. Sick people need to eat a lot to have the strength to recover from illness. Lucifer picked up a simple bowl of white porridge, yogurt, and a small cake.

Carrying the food, Lucifer stopped by Mask's room. She still didn't look any better. Her entire body was burning hot and her breathing was also getting heavier by time.

Lucifer gently placed the food next to her bed and returned to his room. Mastro was waiting for him there. It seemed like he had something important to say because he seemed very serious.

"Is there anything you want to say?" Lucifer asked while taking off his uniform.

"What do you think about us escaping from here? Just the two of us?"

"What do you mean?" Lucifer asked calmly.

"We just need to tell them that Mask is the intruder, to be sure, we can kill a few guards and put them in her room. That way, the guards will mobilize a large number of people to capture her. The security at the exit will also be looser and we can kill the remaining ones at the exit to escape." Mastro explained the plan.

"You mean to sacrifice Mask to escape?"

"Yes."

'You're still as trash as ever, Mastro.' Lucifer chuckled to himself.

The moment he met Mastro in the pig pen, Lucifer immediately recognized him based on his appearance. Mastro was an important character in the novel, but he was not a hero but an antagonist.

Because of him, the protagonist's two friends died and he also caused a mass massacre using his unbelievable power. The protagonist had to spend a lot of effort and sacrifice a lot just to defeat him.

In general, Mastro was a trash villain.

At first, Lucifer intended to kill him as soon as he saw him in the pig pen, but then he decided to spare Mastro because he could still be used. But of course he could not let him live.

After hearing Mastro talked about giving up Mask, Lucifer decided that the death of a great villain was getting closer.

'Thanks to that, I don't have to feel guilty about killing you, Mastro!'
