Chapter 393: 393:Are You The Real Deal
In the following days, Rajesh kept on receiving invitations to have a meeting with the Federation. Their persistence felt suspicious as hell.
Evan leaned back in his chair, his sharp gaze fixed on Rajesh's hologram. The room was dim, illuminated only by the soft blue glow of Aurora's interface.
"Rajesh," Evan began, his voice calm but commanding, "don't reply to the Federation. Let Daniel handle this first. I want to see how they react to him."
Rajesh frowned. "Are you sure? Ignoring them could be risky."
Evan waved his hand dismissively. "Risky, yes, but necessary. If we jump in too early, we lose the chance to study their approach. For now, stay put and act as if nothing happened."
Rajesh nodded reluctantly. "Understood. But I'll keep my channels open in case something comes up."
"Good." Evan turned to Aurora. "Track all agents in the USL. I want every move monitored, but make sure none of them interacts with Daniel or the Federation—we can't risk exposing our involvement."
Aurora's holographic form shimmered as she nodded. [Agents have been alerted and are on standby. Monitoring systems are live. Anything else?]
[I have also dispatched operatives to observe the Federation's bases and to check for any suspicious activity.]
Evan leaned forward, his fingers steepled under his chin. "No, that'll be all for now. Let's see how this plays out."
_____
Daniel enjoyed his flight, surrounded by a group of beautiful air hostesses.
"Sorry, girls! The playtime is over now but don't be sad; we will meet often," he said with a grin, exuding confidence.
Accompanied by his superhuman stat now he had limitless stamina with no need to shy away.
As the private jet touched down smoothly on the tarmac, its engines hummed softly. Daniel stepped out, flanked by his guards, his sharp suit and confident stride exuded authority, but his mind was abuzz with questions.
As they exited the terminal, Daniel and his men were greeted by a group of four individuals. The leader, a tall man in a crisp black suit adorned with an insignia pinned to his lapel, stepped forward. His piercing blue eyes locked onto Daniel's with a cold, calculating gaze.
"Mr. Daniel," the man said, his voice smooth yet devoid of warmth. "Welcome to USL."
Daniel offered a curt nod and kept his expression neutral. "Thank you. May I know where the meeting will take place?"
The corner of the man's lips curled into a faint smile. "Area 51."
Daniel and his guards stiffened, one of them visibly tensed and instinctively reached his hand to the sidearm.
"Area 51?" Daniel repeated, a hint of caution flashing in his eyes.
"Yes," the man replied with unwavering calm. "But don't worry. The meeting will take place near the base, not inside."
"But why there?"
"It's because the President has something to show you."
Daniel relaxed slightly but couldn't hide the flicker of excitement on his face. He gestured for his guards to follow as he climbed into the waiting vehicle.
_____
The Warehouse Near Area 51
The convoy of vehicles arrived at a nondescript warehouse surrounded by barren desert. The building looked ordinary from the outside, but the tense atmosphere was anything but ordinary. Armed guards patrolled the perimeter, their sharp eyes scanning every movement, hinting at its significance.
As Daniel stepped out of the car, he noted the heavy security and advanced surveillance equipment mounted on the building. His guards instinctively closed ranks around him as they entered.
The interior of the warehouse was dimly lit, the air thick with tension. Rows of crates and equipment lined the walls, and men in suits stood silently, their expressions unreadable. At the center of the room sat a single man, illuminated under a spotlight.
Daniel's breath caught for a moment as his enhanced senses took in the man's presence.
The man was strikingly handsome, with chiseled features, sharp cheekbones, and piercing gray eyes that seemed to see right through him. His posture was relaxed yet commanding and exuded an aura of power.
'This guy's handsomeness even rivals Evan's,' Daniel thought, a flicker of unease creeping into his mind. His senses told him one thing loud and clear—this man was no ordinary human.
The man stood as Daniel approached, offering a faint smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.
"Mr. Daniel," he said, his voice deep and resonant. "I'm glad you accepted our invitation."
Daniel returned the smile but didn't drop his guard. He felt the man was unfamiliar but didn't act rude or spoiled.
Then thinking about something, he asked arrogantly. "The honor is mine. May I know who I'm speaking to?"
The man's expression froze for a moment before he replied while extending his hand.
"Call me Adrian."
Daniel shook Adran's hand firmly, noting the subtle strength in his grip. "So, Adrian, what's this meeting about? Your invitation was… intriguing."
Adrian's smile widened slightly. "All in good time. For now, let's say it's about understanding each other's potential."
Daniel arched an eyebrow. "Understanding or evaluating?"
Adrian chuckled, his gray eyes glinting. "Perhaps both. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Please, have a seat."
Daniel glanced around, noting the tension in the room before settling into the chair across from Adrian. His guards remained standing, their eyes scanning the room for any threats.
Adrian leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table. "Tell me, Mr. Daniel, what drives a man like you to achieve so much in such a little time?"
Daniel's eyes narrowed. "I could ask you the same."
Adrian smirked and he leaned back. "Fair enough. Let's just say I'm fascinated by people who challenge the status quo. You and your… associates are quite the disruptors."
The air grew heavier as their gazes locked, each sizing up the other.
Continue your journey with empire
"Let's not play games, Adrian," Daniel said finally, his voice steady. "What do you want from me?"
Adrian's smile faded slightly, replaced by a more serious expression. "What I want, Mr. Daniel, is to see if you're someone we can work with—or someone we need to keep an eye on."
Daniel's lips curled into a faint smirk. "And what's your assessment so far?"
Adrian's gray eyes seemed to pierce through him. "I want to know if you are the real one?"
"What?"
