The auction was as expected.

There were no bright spots during the main event. From the Chen brothers' perspectives, it was a simple pet shop with costly fish. They were there to purchase Koi for the pond at their home.

Nothing More. Nothing Less.

If the other guests, knew of their outlook on this soiree, numerous hateful looks would land on them.

This event was to show off one's net worth to their competitors and potential clients. It's also a chance to suppress newcomers in the industry who just made it to the special guest list. There were veterans amongst the guests and it was etiquette to be polite to them.

Chen Kai wasn't polite.

He took two pairs of special breed Koi from under two veterans' noses at a joint cost of 34.5 Million, this didn't include the services, only the final auction price.

He gained disbelieving looks, gloating, and even displeasure. All that fell on cotton, Chen Kai had an indifferent posture throughout the entire bidding. Chen Yan was playing on his phone, only looking up to check the items and Xiao Wei was looking through overviews his wildcard boss sent him about the new companies under his name. The three didn't care about what happened around them.

They accomplished their duties. They participated in the auction and purchased the shown products. A win-win for both sides.

If anyone is miffed by being out bid won't be a good comrade in business anyway.

That business was done.

Time for the other half of the day. Chen Kai was presently talking to Chen Yan who decided to follow his new friends for the rest of the afternoon. He couldn't tag along, his new job as chairman begins in full force. Chen Kai was both sullen and envious of his kid brother's leisure time.

"Phone?"

Chen Yan showed him the phone and indicated the full battery life.

"Don't forget to send your location to Commander Liu."

The demand was clearly on those words. He sounded more like a worry-wart mother than a brother.

Chen Yan suppressed his grin,"It will be sent when I am back on the main road."

"What about money? Do you have enough?" Chen Kai fussed once again, amusing Xiao Wei and the group standing a few steps away from them, watching the show.

Chen Yan opens his bank mobile app and checks his balance with a mild curiosity. "There's a little over 80 Mil. I'm good for the afternoon," he mumbled.

Liu Chao: .... "That's his personal cash?! That's enough to buy a new car. Am I poor with only 7 Million on my card?"

"I should balance it off," Chen Kai muttered. He was about to retrieve his phone to call his bank assistant but Xiao Wei stopped his actions.

"He's not going to buy a building, eighty million is more than enough. Don't go overboard, eldest Young Master."

"Oh, fine," Chen Kai grumbled. 'He's a prince, he should have more,' he inwardly grumbled.

Probably sensing his brother's silly thoughts, he grimaced after remembering the fine clothing and jewelry he was gifted, or he had worn. It was all from his older brother's pampering. He was pretty spoiled back then.

"It's enough for this time," Chen Yan said in a coaxing tone.

Chen Kai heard the underlying meaning and stopped his pouting. "What about a change of clothes? Where are you guys taking him? He has to be comfortable. This outfit is too formal to play in."

Shang Ren was about to refute for the group but paused. They looked at themselves and then remembered the new person in their group was twelve. What are they going to do? Amusement park?

What is suitable for a 12-year-old?

"It can be bought. I think they can take me shopping for a few more things and show me around Nanjing. I have to go back to school soon, right?" Chen Yan sensed the older kids' dilemma and smoothly interjected, raising his eyebrow slightly at the speaker of the group.

"Yes! Don't worry, Brother Chen. He will be riding with me also, I brought a driver," Shang Ren added while stepping forward.

"...I should buy him a new car too." They heard Chen Kai muttered before he gave a nod of approval.

'Brother-Control! Never thought I would meet one in real life,' Liu Chao exclaimed inwardly.

Her quick action was seen by her friends and Chen Yan. They wanted to say something but helplessly shook their heads. 'She will learn soon enough.'

Her friends curiously watched her reactions.

"How is the search for a reliable driver and housekeeper coming along?"

Chen Kai asked the person next to him this question as he watched the four-car envoy leave the pavilion grounds.

"I found a housekeeper who has ample experience in the field and is willing to supervise the maids we chose. Her additional duty in overseeing XiaoYan was also accepted. She can start next Monday along with the rest of the staff.

The driver was selected by Commander Liu, he's a retired Army driver and versed in combat." Xiao Wei replied before motioning him to enter the Mercedes-Maybach that just arrived.

"Hahhh~ They grow up so fast."

Hearing Chen Kai's melodrama when he joined the guy in the car, Xiao Wei rolled his eyes and cut the drama before it grew. The guy was practically in a swooning posture, sighing heavily as he looked out the window.

"He's still twelve, Brother Kai. He hasn't grown that much."

"No. I mean just the other day he was like a crushed chicken now he's like an eagle soaring above the swallows."

Xiao Wei paused after hearing those words. 'What the ...'

The last one, what is it? Her neighbor's sister's cousin's child and she's a nice girl who happens to be single," Chen Kai teased. The cheesy grin on his face made him look like a sleazy friend.

Xiao Wei could only hold back his hand. Never hit a smiling person.

Traveling back to the business area, a wave of loneliness hit Chen Kai. It was unexpected. A frown marred his face as he tried to figure out why he felt lonely. When he checked the time on his phone, looking at the wallpaper he found the reason. He missed her.

"Brother Wei, is the restaurant confirmed?" he asked softly.

"Finalized. 7 pm at the largest private box. The package you ordered from the florist will be delivered half an hour before you arrive. Are you sure you won't take along a few bodyguards? Nanhe Group Website has uploaded your profile as Vice President and Givenchy's announcement has been made.

Chen Kai didn't give her a chance to set the conversation when he spoke without a greeting. The attendants' ears twitched upon hearing the low magnetic voice with a playful tone blasting through the phone.

The girls didn't take it to heart and chuckled at his displeasure. It was a novel thing amongst them to bring out such emotions from the once-distant Male god.

"You have her tonight, Brother Chen. Have mercy on us," Ye Jun said aloud.

"You guys should have mercy on me. We just made it official. You know how long this has been in the works. Four years, my sisters. Come on, let me have her for a quick late lunch then I will leave her be until tonight."

Su Lian shook her head in amusement. The adorable whining from Chen Kai amused everyone in the room. The attendants were used to their clients having public conversations with their male partners but it was mostly the women behaving coquettishly begging for more spending money. Now it is a man begging his woman's friends to cut him some slack. It was a pretty funny thing.

"No can do, Brother Chen. You will go overboard. Wait for tonight," Da Mei said firmly.

"Tch! Fine. Wife, send me your location. I saw something that I like for you, I'm going to buy it now. Am I allowed to bring it over or should I send someone from the team? It seems like the girls' outing is a strict event."

Su Lian placed her finger on her lips to silence her friends on her earlier decision. "I wonder what you bought this time, send someone from your team. Oh, how did the auction go?" she answered steadily.

"Well, it was as expected. I throw money, you throw money, we all throw money. XiaoYan found some pretty fish for the main aquarium at home and in his room. I think he spent around 950K for everything and I got some gorgeous breeds of Koi. When the time is right, you'll come to visit?"

On the other end, Chen Kai laughed at her sultry admonishment. She probably wants to scold him for letting XiaoYan spend so much. His Lian was too sweet.

"He used his money to buy what he liked plus I like them too. There's nothing to say about his age. Don't worry, wife, he knows his limits. He's my brother after all."

"That's what I'm worried about," she taunted.

"Another Brother Chen? A small schoolmaster?" Lin Fa asked, thinking of such a thing.

The girls were stunned by his quick reasoning and then looked at Su Lian. She still had that silly 'girl in love' smile. Anything Chen Kai says makes her a bit ditzy.

"A health club. I'll send the location and we'll be here for the next two hours."

"Okay. I will send it soon and you must accept it without complaints," he said firmly.

"Yes, dear~"

"I'll hang up now and let you enjoy your afternoon. I'll be at your place by 6:30. See you soon, baby."

At the end of the call, Su Lian sent the location and returned her attention to everyone.

She was about to voice her thanks when an SMS came through on her phone. A small frown formed between her brows. It was from her bank.

Su Lian didn't have time to react nor question the source of this money when a WeChat notification popped up.

"Hah~" She finally released the stifled cry that was stuck in her throat. Covering her face with her hands, she was trying to settle her emotions.

Su Lian wasn't different from other girls, she wished for this also. When she saw Chen Kai for the first time and learned more bout him, she didn't mind gaining two out of three main points. He was the man she wanted. She can support both of them.

Now, he has all three points and cares for her most purely.

Chen Kai quietly proved to her that he could give her what she wanted and she didn't have to ask.
