The Two Faced Emperor

Chapter 33: No Reason

Faithless pulled the spear from his chest and took one step forward, appearing in front of the Spear Man. He grabbed him by the head, slammed him to the ground with force, and hurled him toward the trees until he crashed into one of them.

Faithless looked back at the two girls, then smiled as his eyes glowed with gold. He spoke in a calm tone:

"Stay close to Lady Marianne… there's a rat that needs to be eaten by the cat."

A blue spear shot out from between the trees, heading toward the girls. Lady Marianne threw bloody knives to break it, but Faithless caught it with his hand and hurled it back.

The Spear Man dodged the attack and stood beside the shattered tree, drawing another spear from the palm of his hand. Faithless smirked with scorn as he looked at him with disdain:

"The Black Order, hah… what a pathetic group, using the weak to bring down the strong… how disgraceful."

"Honor and fair play are not our priorities, boy… What matters is killing the target and getting what we want from them," laughed the Spear Man as he pointed his weapon toward Faithless.

Faithless appeared next to him and swung his sword forcefully to decapitate him, but the Spear Man summoned two spears to block it. The clash was so strong it broke one of his spear blades.

He quickly retreated and launched three spears toward Faithless, who dodged two and caught the third, throwing it powerfully toward the Spear Man's abdomen.

Though the Spear Man avoided a fatal blow, a deep gash was carved into his stomach. Faithless then unleashed another golden wave toward him. The Spear Man hurled a spear to counter the attack but failed and was hit directly.

The two girls watched anxiously, hiding behind Lady Marianne as they looked toward the battle. Marianne gently placed her palms on their heads and said in a calm voice while gazing at the fight:

"There's no need to fear. The Sovereign never dies until he completes his mission."

The two girls looked up at her and felt a glimmer of hope amidst the blood… From girls who once wanted to kill him for food, to ones who feared for his safety…

Sometimes, mercy is better than raising the sword.

Faithless stepped forward, and a blue spear flew toward him. He caught it with his left hand, but it left a light scratch on his cheek.

Before the Spear Man could launch another wave of attacks, Faithless used the spear to slice off his hands and planted the weapon in his abdomen.

Blood poured from the Spear Man's mouth and eyes as he experienced a horrifying pain like never before. Faithless leaned slightly forward and looked at him coldly, saying:

"How does it feel to be tortured by your own weapon? How does it taste—to sip from the cup you once served your victims? How does it feel now… as you descend into the depths of hell?"

The Spear Man spat out a mouthful of blood, trembling violently as if in a freezing place. He raised his head slightly and looked at Faithless with a weak tone, awaiting death:

"What… what did I do to you… why you kill me?"

Faithless stood tall and placed Rebliwam's sword against his neck, speaking softly, indifferently:

"No reason."

Then, with one swift motion, he sliced off his head so fast that it flew between the trees. The glow in Faithless' eyes faded as he touched his face gently with all five fingers, when suddenly the two girls called out to him joyfully:

"O Sovereign!"

He turned slightly, only for them to hug him softly… And at that moment, Faithless' heart began to race. He looked at them clinging to him tightly. For the first time, Faithless felt that someone cared about him… since his mother.

He leaned down and hugged them both. The girls spoke in a cheerful yet concerned tone:

"We didn't expect to see you again, Sovereign, after the strike you took to your chest."

Faithless looked at them and spoke in a warm tone:

"The Sovereign doesn't die that easily."

Then he continued, sarcastically:

"That strike was like the knife you two stabbed into my chest earlier."

The girls blushed from embarrassment, but Faithless laughed, and the three of them quietly laughed together… Faithless and Lady Marianne placed the heads of the Black Order members into a bag.

Faithless looked at the head of the Hammer Girl, how crushed it was from all the hits, and spoke sarcastically to Marianne:

"You made her head look like a loaf of bread… how terrifying you are."

"That damn woman drove me crazy with that ridiculous hammer of hers," said Marianne as she picked up the Spider-head.

Faithless placed the heads of the Black Order into another bag, slung it over his back, and approached the two girls, saying:

"Seems like the group that killed your parents… their heads are now inside this bag."

The girls were surprised, and Lily spoke in a questioning tone:

"But, Sovereign, how did you know this was the group?"

Faithless was slightly surprised by the question and answered:

"Looks like you didn't hear them well because you were shaken… the important thing is, the leader was responsible for killing your parents, and I took your revenge for you."

The girls' expressions shifted to sorrow, and then they cried like rain, hugging Faithless again. Lady Marianne looked at him and said softly:

"Seems they love you now… after the great deed you've done."

Faithless looked at Marianne and gave a faint smile before turning his gaze back to the girls. He muttered quietly to himself as he looked once more at the moonlight:

'Will the day ever come when I take my revenge on the kings?'
