Chapter 346: The Voyage 2/2
About an hour later, the Voyage, which was the name of the luxurious cruise ship Eriri and her companions were traveling on, slowly docked at the port of Loguetown.
The appearance of the Voyage immediately drew the attention of everyone near the port. This cruise ship, completely out of place in the One Piece world, astonished the onlookers.
However, their amazement was fleeting. After all, the One Piece world was full of all kinds of strange and unusual pirate ships, so the appearance of the Voyage didn't seem entirely impossible.
When the Voyage automatically anchored at the port, a staircase several meters wide extended from the ship's deck directly onto the island.
One by one, Eriri and her companions disembarked from the Voyage and stepped onto the stairs leading to Loguetown.
Their appearance left everyone at the port completely stunned.
In terms of beauty, every single member of Eriri's group could rival the Pirate Empress Boa Hancock. In fact, Eriri and Arifureta's group far surpassed her, completely overwhelming the title of "the most beautiful woman in the world."
Now, imagine over forty women, each at the level of a "world's most beautiful woman," along with adorable little girls, appearing together in one place. The impact of such a scene and the feelings it evoked were beyond words.
At this moment, everyone at Loguetown's port was experiencing it firsthand.
"So many beauties, I think I'm going to die!"
"That blonde in the center... Is she even human? How can someone be that beautiful? My heart is racing uncontrollably."
"Wait, I just remembered! Isn't this the ship that's been wiping out pirate crews over the past few days?"
"I've heard about that too. So it was them? This is unbelievable."
"Yes, and look at that little girl with the wings on her back. Rumor has it she destroyed an entire pirate ship in a single move, leaving nothing behind."
"What? Seriously? She looks like she's not even ten years old. That's ridiculous!"
"I don't know about that, but this is what a friend of mine told me through a Den Den Mushi. He said he saw it with his own eyes. And then there's that blue-haired girl with two long swords. They say she's at least a swordmaster, maybe even a great swordmaster. It's said she cut a massive pirate ship clean in half with one slash."
"Now that's just absurd. A ten-year-old great swordmaster? Are you joking? Why don't you just say they're all stronger than the Navy Admirals?"
"…"
The chatter among the crowd grew louder, and the mystery surrounding Eriri and her group deepened.
However, almost everyone came to a unanimous conclusion: Eriri and her group were not people to be trifled with.
Of course, as always, there were a few exceptions. Not everyone had common sense, and greed often led people to take dangerous risks.
Among the crowd, a hidden pirate crew greedily eyed Eriri and her companions, their gaze shifting between the group and the Voyage docked at the port, their intentions clearly less than honorable.
But Eriri had no concerns about someone attempting to steal the Voyage.
For one, only Eriri could make the Voyage sail. Secondly, no one outside her group could enter the ship without her permission.
If someone tried to force their way in and was deemed malicious by the cosmic energy imbued in the ship's hull, they would be directly annihilated by the energy.
If the intrusion was accidental, they would simply be repelled upon touching the ship's railing, suffering no life-threatening harm.
Of course, if such a repelled individual happened to land in the mouth of a Sea King afterward, well, that would be no one's fault but their own.
...
Before long, Eriri and her companions descended the hundred-meter-long staircase and stepped onto the ground of Loguetown.
This was the first island they had set foot on in the One Piece world, excluding the uninhabited island where they first arrived.
Once everyone had disembarked, the staircase retracted automatically, its task complete.
Ignoring the crowd still watching them in awe, Eriri's group of over forty people began making their way into Loguetown.
The members of Eriri's group were generally not tall; among them, Aoi Kujo and Utaha Kasumigaoka were the tallest, standing at only around 170 cm. Compared to women in the One Piece world, who often stood around 180 cm or taller, they could be considered short.
Loguetown was a relatively large town, and its bustling streets were filled with people. The arrival of Eriri's group of forty had no noticeable impact on the flow of the crowd. At most, passersby turned their heads in curiosity as the group walked by.
Once inside the town, the group decided to split up. They could pair up and explore the town, shop for local specialties, or go wherever they wanted individually.
Even though they had no Berries (Currency), they had something more valuable: gold, a currency accepted in any world.
With gold, Berries were no issue.
After reminding everyone to return to the Voyage before dinner, the group split into smaller clusters.
Eriri walked down the bustling street holding Shinobu in her child form. Ophis and Scarlet flanked her on either side, while Aoi Kujo, Kohina, and Liliana followed closely behind.
Meanwhile, Arifureta had wandered off with Shea, Megumi Kato, Utaha Kasumigaoka, and Yuzuru Hanyu to explore the town.
Sayuri, on the other hand, had taken Jibril, Milim, and Schwi in another direction.
As they strolled, Eriri and her group eventually arrived at the central plaza of Loguetown. This plaza connected all the main streets of the town, making it one of the busiest areas.
At the far end of the plaza, in front of a large building resembling a town hall, stood a half-collapsed, charred execution platform. This was the very place where, 22 years ago, the Pirate King Gol D. Roger had been executed.
Not long ago, the platform had been intact. However, during the recent events involving Luffy's near-execution by Buggy the Clown, it was destroyed by Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionary Army, in a daring rescue. The platform had yet to be rebuilt.
Eriri and her group didn't linger in the plaza for long. After a quick look around, they moved on to their next destination.
Time passed quickly, and by the time they had casually explored various parts of Loguetown, it was already past 3 PM.
Feeling a bit bored, Eriri decided to head back to the port with Ophis and the others, still holding Shinobu in her arms.
When they returned to the port, their reappearance caused the onlookers' eyes to light up briefly before quickly darting away. Many seemed visibly uneasy, avoiding eye contact with Eriri and her companions as if afraid of drawing their attention.
Eriri paid no mind to their reactions. She simply held Shinobu and took to the air, flying toward the Voyage.
Aoi Kujo and the others followed closely behind, also flying back to the ship.
Witnessing this, the surrounding people lowered their gazes even further, not daring to look for fear of attracting attention.
Once back aboard the Voyage, Eriri found that several people had already returned ahead of her, including Sayuri's group.
"Eriri, welcome back! Did you have fun?" Sayuri greeted her warmly, rushing over to give her a big hug.
"Yes, I'm back," Eriri replied with a smile, wrapping her arms around Sayuri's as she asked, "By the way, Mom, did anything happen while we were out? Why were the people at the port looking at us so strangely?"
Although Eriri could have easily checked the ship's logs to find out everything that had happened near the Voyage during that time, she chose not to. Asking directly was a good way to interact and communicate. Knowing everything would render such exchanges meaningless.
"Oh, that?" Sayuri said, stroking her collagen-rich, youthful face with a playful smirk. "That's just because your mother's charm is too overwhelming!"
"When Little Jibril and I returned to the port, a group of pirates actually tried to kidnap me. Do they really think I'd let that happen? They obviously don't know who they're dealing with.
So, I easily took care of them in just a few moves. The pirates then retreated to their ship, attempting to flee, but before they could even start their ship, Little Jibril obliterated it with a single magic blast.
The commotion was quite significant—there was a crater nearly 100 meters wide where the ship used to be, and it took a while to return to normal.
Now you understand why the people at the port were looking at us so strangely, right?" Sayuri explained with a touch of humor.
"I see," Eriri nodded. After Sayuri's detailed account, she fully understood the situation.
The people at the port were terrified of Jibril's overwhelming display of power, and that fear naturally extended to Eriri and the rest of her group.
This incident would likely spread across all of Loguetown soon, and perhaps even throughout the East Blue. It wouldn't be long before rumors about Eriri and her companions grew even more exaggerated.
What Eriri didn't know was that shortly after they left for Loguetown, a group of pirates had attempted to sneak around to the opposite side of the Voyage with the intent of boarding and stealing the ship.
However, as soon as they managed to climb to the ship's edge, they were immediately vaporized by the cosmic energy enveloping the Voyage. Not a single trace of them remained, and no one even noticed their disappearance.
…
As time passed, the rest of the group returned from their outings, even the last stragglers arriving well before dinner.
This showed that Loguetown, an ordinary town, didn't hold much interest for anyone.
At first, the town's unique architectural style might have seemed novel, but after seeing more of it, it became rather unimpressive—far less aesthetically pleasing than the architecture of the modern world.
Arifureta and the others did bring back many local specialties, though most of them were food items. Decorative souvenirs made up only a small portion of their purchases.
Once everyone was back aboard, Eriri wasted no time lingering at the port. She immediately set the Voyage to resume its automatic navigation, this time heading straight for Reverse Mountain.
Reverse Mountain, also known as the Twin Cape, was a remarkable and dangerous mountain that served as the entrance to the Grand Line.
As its name suggests, something about it is reversed—specifically, its water currents.
Under normal circumstances, water flows downward due to gravitational pull, but on Reverse Mountain, the water flows upward, an extraordinary phenomenon.
Reverse Mountain had five waterways in total: four flowing inward and one flowing outward.
The four inward streams carried water upward from the four seas—East Blue, West Blue, South Blue, and North Blue—converging at the mountain's peak.
The single outward stream carried water downward from the mountain's summit into the first half of the Grand Line, flowing in the normal direction.
Loguetown was very close to the entrance of the Reverse Mountain's waterway. Before dinner began, the Voyage had already reached the base of the mountain.
By then, the weather had turned treacherous. The sky was covered with dark clouds, and violent winds howled through the air, strong enough to lift small ships off the water. Massive waves crashed against the sea's surface, creating thunderous roars.
For most ships, such conditions would have caused chaos. Even modern luxury yachts would struggle to handle the situation.
However, none of this had any impact on the Voyage.
Surrounding the ship was an invisible energy barrier entirely composed of cosmic energy.
This energy shield had always been in place, configured by Eriri to allow only the passengers of the Voyage to pass freely.
Not only did it shield against the violent winds and waves, but it also allowed the Voyage to effortlessly dive into the deepest parts of the ocean. With this barrier in place, there was no need for the ship to be coated for underwater travel, as the seawater was completely repelled.
Though the Voyage swayed with the massive waves, the interior of the ship remained perfectly calm, without the slightest hint of movement.
Even if the ship were to stand vertically at a 90-degree angle, the Voyage would remain as stable as ever, as if its gravity followed the ship itself rather than the planet below.
