The Strongest Assassin of the Zoldyck Family!

Chapter 264: Chapter 264

Ron noticed this.

Because of that, Baki Hanma's punch wasn't aimed precisely at Wendy, but rather landed beside her.

A wry smile appeared on Wendy's face.

"Ron, I thought that after gaining something from the Land of Nirvana, the gap between us would shrink. But now it looks like it's actually gotten bigger."

Ron replied, "The ability you obtained meshes well with your own power. It's just that you haven't fully mastered how to use it yet—you still need more time."

"I know," Wendy said. "Fire and wind go really well together. There's a lot of potential there."

"But that's exactly what's so scary about you," Wendy continued. "I'm still in the research stage, yet you've already perfected the combination of the power you gained in the Land of Nirvana with your Nen Beast. How did you do it?"

Ron shook his head. "Because the ability I received was simpler in its design."

Both Ron and Wendy had gained abilities from the Land of Nirvana, but strictly speaking, there were some differences. Ron had gotten a finished product, while Wendy's was only half-finished. As a result, Wendy needed more time to study and develop hers. However, in turn, her ability had a wider room to develop more techniques.

Wendy asked, "Ron, are you really going to the Beast Dojo tomorrow? You've already seen Ted's ability—it's straightforward, and sparring with him probably won't help you much."

Ron said, "He might have gotten a decent new ability."

Wendy thought it over and nodded. "That's true."

Early the next day, Ted arrived but was stopped at the gate. Although they were all members of the Fiora royal family and the three major dojos had decent relations, that didn't mean people from other dojos could just wander in. Ted, being from the Beast Dojo, wasn't allowed to enter the Dragon Dojo unless someone with sufficient standing invited him.

"I'm here for Ron—we made plans," Ted said.

One of the guards frowned. "Who's Ron?"

"You don't know? Then let me see Wendy. Tell Wendy to come out," Ted said, sizing up the guard.

Soon enough, Wendy got the message. "Ron, Ted's here. Let's go outside."

"Sure."

They headed to the gate, where Ted caught sight of Ron, eyes lighting up with anticipation. He waved. "Over here."

He wore a smile, eyes filled with expectation. "Come on. I've been waiting for this match for three days. I've heard of the Zoldyck name for a long time, but I've never seen a member of the Zoldyck family fight in person..."

Wendy cut him off. "Ted, if you want Ron to go to your Beast Dojo, I'm coming along too."

"You?" Ted asked.

"With your status as the Beast's Heir, don't tell me you don't even have that authority?"

"Of course I do."

"Then it's settled," Wendy said. "Ron is my friend, and I invited him here. If you want to spar with Ron, I can't watch? That seems a bit much."

But Wendy didn't really intend just to watch Ron and Ted's match—she was concerned for Ron's safety. Even though it was unlikely the Beast Dojo would actually harm Ron, the people there could get carried away in the heat of the moment. Wendy wanted to guarantee Ron's absolute safety.

"Fine, sure. Get in the car."

Ted drove, racing along. Fortunately, there weren't many cars or pedestrians on that road, and being a Nen user, Ted's reactions were quick. Otherwise, he'd have ended up running over someone.

After about ten minutes, they arrived at the Beast Dojo. It was completely different from the Dragon Dojo, brimming with a wild, primordial vibe—like being deep in a great forest, where a ferocious predator could leap out at any moment. Danger seemed to lurk everywhere.

They got out of the car. Immediately, several gazes swept over them with sharp scrutiny. They knew Ted and Wendy, so most of the attention fell on Ron.

"This is Ron Zoldyck," Ted explained briefly to the guards. "I've invited him here as my guest. We'll be having a spar inside the dojo. Wendy's here to watch."

Once Ron and Wendy's identities were confirmed, the guards stepped aside, and the three of them walked in. Word that Ron and Ted would have a match spread quickly throughout the Beast Dojo, instantly attracting a crowd.

Compared to the Dragon Dojo, the Beast Dojo was a whole different atmosphere—once people heard there was a fight, almost everyone rushed over to watch.

"Ron, there's a lot of people. Is that okay?" Wendy asked.

For a Nen user, it's usually best not to reveal abilities casually—especially for someone from the Zoldyck family. "No problem," Ron said with a shake of his head.

"That's true," Wendy admitted. "Even I can't force out your full strength, so Ted surely can't either."

They arrived at a huge training ground, which came into Ron's view. Ted stood in the center.

"Ron, come on. Show me what the world's top assassin family is all about," Ted said. "I've heard from Wendy that even she can't beat you."

"But I'm not Wendy," he added proudly.

Ron paused. "But didn't you lose to Wendy?"

"That's different!" A look of embarrassment flashed across Ted's face. "I only lost to her because her combat style just happened to counter mine. That doesn't mean she's stronger than me."

"And who's to say you didn't beat her because your style counters hers? If someone's style doesn't counter mine, beating me—if we're on the same level of Nen—won't be easy. I'm not weaker than anyone!"

Wendy shook her head, and a large crowd poured in around the training ground—members of the Beast Dojo eager to watch.

"Who's Ted sparring with?"

"Ron Zoldyck, from the so-called best assassin family in the world."

"A professional assassin? Wonder what kind of fighting style that is."

"They say he's stronger than Wendy."

"Well, that'll be worth seeing."

"The Zoldyck family is pretty mysterious. They're hailed as the world's number one assassins, but they don't actually make many public moves. No one even knows how many members they have."

"I wonder what their style is like."

"We'll see soon enough. And he's going up against Ted. Ted's pretty famous here in the Beast Dojo."

With the Zoldyck family name alone, the match had everyone's attention. On top of that, Ted himself, as the Beast's Heir, naturally drew a crowd.
