Chapter 17: Chapter 16: Famous scenes and graduation
Night had fallen, and the sky was dotted with stars, partially veiling a crescent moon.
Deep within a secluded forest in Konoha, Naruto sprinted excitedly, clutching the Scroll of Seals.
"Almost there! This is where Mizuki-sensei told me to meet him."
He glanced up at the sky, momentarily distracted.
For a second, the crescent moon seemed blurred—almost as if it were flickering.
"Must be the clouds..."
Shrugging off the thought, he focused ahead.
He was finally going to become a ninja!
"Naruto!"
A familiar voice called out.
Naruto turned to see Iruka-sensei standing nearby.
From that moment, everything unfolded almost exactly as it had in the original timeline.
---
Meanwhile, at home, Sakiya Kihana lounged comfortably, watching the events play out in the sky like a live broadcast.
She popped another chip into her mouth as she observed Naruto's fight with Mizuki.
The timing was perfect—right when Iruka and Naruto had their heartfelt moment, Naruto unlocked his protagonist mode, summoning a massive swarm of shadow clones that utterly demolished Mizuki.
Sakiya casually tossed aside her empty bag of chips.
"Not bad. The live-action adaptation is actually pretty entertaining."
Then, with a flick of her hand, she rewound the scene back to the moment Naruto first opened the Scroll of Seals.
The image zoomed in on the scroll's contents, playing in slow motion.
She carefully examined the list of forbidden techniques.
As expected, there wasn't much to be excited about.
- Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu – Already known.
- Rasengan – Also known.
- Eight Trigrams Sealing Technique – Huh? Now that's interesting…
- Flying Thunder God Technique – Oh? Even this is in here?
Other techniques caught her attention too.
- Adamantine Sealing Chains
- Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu
Sakiya's eyes widened slightly.
"These are all techniques from Minato and Kushina…"
She smirked.
"That old man, Hiruzen, really pulled a sneaky move. Letting Naruto 'steal' his own inheritance and then acting like he's doing him a favor. Classic."
Her Seeing Technique functioned similarly to the Telescope Jutsu but wasn't actually ninjutsu.
It was something entirely different—her own creation, blending chakra factor manipulation with optical principles.
To put it simply, it was based on light refraction and reflection, somewhat akin to a mirage.
She had even given it a name: Light Release: Seeing Technique.
Not the most original, but it got the job done.

The Next Morning
It was Graduation Day.
When Sakiya arrived at the classroom, about half the students were already there.
As usual, she made her way to her seat—right next to Ino.
Ino was just about to say something when Sakiya suddenly stuffed something into her hand.
She looked down at the object in confusion. It was a badge-like pendant, featuring a magic circle with a strange eye design at its center.
She glanced at Sakiya, but Sakiya showed no intention of explaining. Instead, she was staring straight ahead, pretending to be lost in thought.
But Sakiya wasn't really lost in thought—her attention was on Ino the entire time. She waited for a reaction, and as the silence stretched on, she couldn't resist stealing a glance at her.
To her surprise, Ino was already watching her.
Their eyes met.
Caught in the act, Sakiya's face flushed red, and she quickly turned away.
Seeing her flustered reaction, Ino covered her mouth and chuckled.
She flipped the badge over, revealing a small engraving of two figures holding hands.
Ino squeezed the badge gently before tucking it into her chest pocket. A warm feeling spread through her heart, and a small smile appeared on her lips.
"Don't worry, Sakiya," she said softly.
"I've always been your number-one magician."
---
Naruto burst into the classroom with his usual energy, his Konoha forehead protector tied proudly around his head.
The first person he spotted was Kiba.
"Yo! Morning!" Naruto greeted him with a grin.
Kiba, caught off guard, responded automatically. "Morning, Naru—wait!" He frowned. "What are you doing here?"
Naruto grinned wider and tapped his forehead protector.
"Hah! What do you mean? I'm a ninja now!"
Kiba scoffed. "Tch, big deal."
Sasuke, who had been sitting nearby, sighed at the commotion. "You're so noisy, dead last."
That hit a nerve. Naruto stormed over, planting a foot on Sasuke's desk and grabbing him by the collar.
"Hah!? What did you just say, Sasuke!?"
Sasuke frowned, glaring coldly. "Let go, idiot."
But Naruto wasn't backing down. He leaned in aggressively, practically nose-to-nose with Sasuke.
Sakiya, watching from her seat, had a sudden realization.
"No way... No way..." she muttered under her breath.
Just then, a passing student accidentally bumped into Naruto.
In the next instant—
Their lips touched.
The entire class froze.
Sakiya stared, utterly speechless.
"...Is this fate?"
Naruto recoiled, flailing in horror. He staggered back, spitting repeatedly.
Sasuke, equally disgusted, shot Naruto a death glare. "You...!"
Before he could retaliate, a mob of furious fangirls descended on Naruto.
"Sasuke's first kiss—"
"—was stolen by Naruto!?"
They couldn't let this stand.
A few minutes later, Naruto sat slumped at his desk, his face swollen from multiple punches.
The classroom finally quieted down. Everyone waited anxiously for their new squad assignments.
Sakiya glanced at Ino, feeling a strange mix of emotions.
Once the teams were assigned, they'd likely be separated.
After all, the Ino-Shika-Cho formation was set in stone...
Sakiya clenched her fists, hesitating.
But before she could dwell on it, a small, warm hand wrapped around hers.
She looked up, startled.
Ino smiled at her.
Sakiya's eyes grew hot, and she placed her other hand over Ino's.
They didn't speak.
There was no need.
Their eyes held no more hesitation.
Finally, Asuma entered the classroom and began reading out names.
"Shikamaru, Ino, Choji."
Sakiya instinctively squeezed Ino's hand tighter before letting go.
Ino smiled reassuringly.
"Don't worry, Sakiya."
She pulled out the badge, showing the engraving of the two figures holding hands.
"We'll always be together, right?"
Sakiya's eyes welled up with tears, but she nodded firmly.
"Yeah!"
Ino took a deep breath and rubbed her damp eyes.
"Ugh, seriously. It's not even a real goodbye, so why am I crying?"
She clutched the badge tightly, feeling the warmth in her heart, and stepped forward with newfound confidence.
[Don't worry, Sakiya. I'll be fine. You take care of yourself too, okay? Stop being reckless and acting cool all the time.]
Sakiya watched Ino go, then glanced at the badge in her hands.
She flipped it over, staring at the engraving once more.
Just then, their new instructor entered the room.
"Sakiya, Sakuragi, Tsuchiya—come with me."
Sakiya lifted her head. In her right eye, a sharp glint flickered like a falling star.
"A ninja's life, huh?"
She clenched her fist, eyes burning with determination.
"My Eyes of Death... Let's do this!"
