The Second Girls journey in Naruto

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Actual combat assessment

Time passed quickly.

Before she knew it,Sakiya Kihana had been at the Ninja Academy for three years.

Now, the first stage of her ninja training was coming to an end.

The next step? The placement test.

This test would determine which students would be placed in an advanced class based on their past performances.

Truthfully, it wasn't a big deal.

It was just a way to gauge how much each student had learned and refined their skills.

Given her previous rankings, Sakiya was almost guaranteed a spot alongside the future Konoha Twelve.

Early that morning, Iruka gathered the students at the training grounds.

Sakiya stood among the crowd, next to Ino, Sakura, and Hinata.

She and Ino were close friends.

And since Ino was friends with Sakura, by extension, they had all ended up in the same group.

The four of them usually stuck together.

None of them were particularly excited about the test—except, of course, for Naruto and Kiba, who were practically buzzing with energy.

Iruka stood in front of the class, smiling.

"Today is your practical combat assessment. I'm sure you're all aware of how it works, so I won't waste time explaining."

With that, he pulled out a booklet containing the matchups.

The fights were arranged based on previous rankings.

First place vs. second place.

Second place vs. third place.

Third place vs. fourth place.

…and so on.

At the top of the list?

Sasuke Uchiha.

Right behind him? Ino.

Surprisingly, without her usual fangirl distractions, Ino had trained seriously and become significantly stronger than Sakiya had been in her past life.

At this point, she might even give Sasuke a run for his money.

After all, Mind Transfer Jutsu was a terrifying technique if used well.

Third place? Shikamaru.

Despite his lazy attitude, his kunai accuracy was unmatched. For their age group, he had a clear advantage.

Further down the list:

Eighth place: Hinata.

Ninth place: Naruto.

As for Sakiya?

Thirteenth.

She sighed, a little nervous.

She had been deliberately holding back in her training. The results showed.

She wasn't even ranked above Naruto.

Looking at the rankings, it was obvious—

Most of the top students were from ninja clans.

Civilian-born ninjas? Almost non-existent in the upper ranks.

The only real exception in the original story had been Sakura.

And now… her.

At this stage, Sakura was still keeping up, ranking somewhere in the middle. She had yet to pull ahead or fall behind.

Of course, this ranking was purely based on combat ability.

Things like written exams weren't taken into account.

Iruka continued reading from his list.

"First match: Sasuke Uchiha… vs. Yamanaka Ino."

Sasuke stepped into the center of the field, his usual cool expression in place.

Immediately, cheers erupted from his fan club.

"Sasuke-kun! You've got this!"

Meanwhile, Sakura and Sakiya were hyping up Ino.

"Go, Ino! You better not lose!" Sakiya grinned.

Ino rolled her eyes.

"You just can't go a day without running your mouth, can you?"

She brushed her bangs aside, took a deep breath, and calmly stepped forward.

Iruka raised his hand.

"Opposing seals."

Sasuke and Ino raised their hands into the traditional seal of confrontation.

For a moment, everything was still.

Then—they moved.

They both instinctively opened with projectiles.

Sasuke threw three shuriken in a precise pattern, limiting Ino's movement.

Ino?

She only threw a single kunai.

A formality.

Sasuke dodged easily and rushed forward.

Shuriken collided midair. Kunai passed by harmlessly.

Sasuke turned slightly, avoiding it effortlessly—

And then, the "Ino" he had hit exploded into a log.

Substitution.

Sasuke's eyes widened.

Before he could react—

BAM.

A whip kick was already coming straight for him.

He barely managed to cross his arms in defense.

The impact was brutal.

(She's strong!)

The blow sent him flying.

Mid-air, Sasuke winced. But his instincts took over—

A quick spin, a perfect landing.

As soon as he hit the ground—

WHOOSH.

Another attack.

A kunai zipped past his cheek.

Immediately after—Ino's next kick.

This time, Sasuke was ready.

Blocking smoothly, he braced himself.

And then?

They exchanged blows.

At first, it seemed like an even fight.

But anyone watching closely could see—

Ino was struggling to keep up.

Sasuke, meanwhile, was barely trying.

Their movements blurred together until—

Ino suddenly jumped back.

Ten meters apart now, she sighed.

Then—she smiled.

"I surrender."

Sasuke blinked.

His brows furrowed slightly, but he said nothing.

Iruka stepped forward.

"Winner: Sasuke Uchiha!"

The fan club screamed in victory.

Ino stretched, rubbing her sore arm.

"Ugh. Fighting someone like him is just annoying."

She had gone all-in with her strongest kicks hoping for an upset, but Sasuke's reflexes were too sharp.

Against boys like him? Pure hand-to-hand combat wasn't her strong suit.

She'd have to rely on strategy next time.

Iruka called for the next match.

"Next: Shikamaru vs. Choji!"

Shikamaru groaned.

"Ugh… such a drag."

Choji?

"I surrender!"

Iruka sighed.

"…Figures."

Next up—

Sakura vs. Towa.

Sakura won, of course.

Then—

Shino vs. Hinata.

Hinata immediately surrendered.

And then—

Naruto vs. Ryuta Shiranui.

This one?

Pure chaos.

Naruto went all in, throwing wild punches and taking just as many hits in return.

The fight was messy, but in the end—

Naruto pulled off a lucky win.

Iruka moved on.

After a few forgettable matches between random students…

Finally—

It was her turn.

Sakiya adjusted her collar, grinning as she stepped onto the field.

Her opponent?

Some random student.

A complete nobody.

She cracked her knuckles.

"Alright. Let's have some fun."
