Chapter 28: Black Revolver
The world trembled, and the sea under Kael's feet started churning as if it were boiling like a pot of water on a stove.
Kael and Wren appeared in front of a road with a metal door—it had the Outlaw Pathway symbol etched into the solid steel door.
The symbol had a masked man, like a gunslinger from the Wild West, and the man was holding a gun sideways.
"When you cross this door, you're officially part of Outlaw Pathway. I must remind you of a few things beforehand."
Wren said, and moved close to him—so close that their breaths were almost mingling together—and she just looked at the side of his face.
"Ahem…"
Kael gulped, feeling her gaze on him that felt like a warm flame touching his skin, and he suddenly felt a rush of emotions that he couldn't quite explain.
"You must be Outlaw. You cannot be a Mystic who pretends to be an Outlaw. You cannot be a Leader who pretends to be an Outlaw.
"The stronger your vessel becomes, the more divinity you can handle. You will only level up further if your vessel is strong enough to contain the power."
She said.
"…I understand."
Kael walked to the door, put his hands against the door, and with a deep breath, slowly opened it until it was fully open.
The power of the divinity flooded out of the door and enveloped Kael in a warm, comforting embrace.
"You're now mine!"
Wren hugged him from behind, pushed her soft breasts against his back, and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"And you'll be my bullet, my weapon of choice in this world, and the instrument of my power!"
…
Kael's eyes shot open, the voice of the Goddess still echoing through his ears, and he could still feel her warmth on his back.
"…Very well. I'll be the bullet."
He stood up, and with his hands inside his pockets, he walked out of the altar and stepped down the stairs.
His heart was beating stronger than before, and he could feel that every muscle and every bone in his body was stronger than before.
He was now a Blessed One. This content is hosted at M|V|LE^MPYR.
Level 1 - Gunslinger of Outlaw Pathway.
With a flick of his wrist, a black revolver materialized in his hand—it fit perfectly in his hand—and it had a long spiraling barrel.
It had a rolling bullet chamber, but when he spun the chamber, there were no bullets inside.
'No bullets?'
Kael thought with a frown, but at that moment, a sharp pain filled his head as if someone was twisting a knife into his brain.
It hurt so much that he thought that his head was splitting open—he stumbled out of the stairs and found the nearest alleyway to collapse in.
Slowly, the pain subsided, and then, new knowledge had appeared inside his mind that he didn't have before.
'I have now the knowledge about my two starting abilities—the first ability is called Black Revolver. I can summon it whenever I want it, and nobody else can use it besides me.
'The second ability is called Bulletcraft—I can create bullets that fit my revolver using anything that I can find. I can take a pebble and make it into a bullet…'
He looked around the alleyway, found a rusty nail just lying there, and picked it up.
"Bulletcraft!"
Within his hand, the rusty nail morphed into a shiny bullet, and he then loaded it into his chamber before snapping it shut.
"Urgh… However, creating bullets is draining my divinity, so I cannot create as many bullets as I want.
"With rest or potions, I can refill my divinity. As level one, I need to be really careful."
Kael thought, and then he found some pebbles, a really small piece of metal, and glass to create five more bullets.
After sliding the new bullets into the chamber of the Black Revolver, it was now fully loaded and ready to use.
'Six bullets…'
Kael moved his tongue inside his mouth, making himself think, and then grabbed a few pieces of Irin coin from his pocket.
He transformed them into bullets and left them in the pocket.
'It doesn't hurt to have extra bullets, just in case I need them.'
With a flick of his wrist, he made the Black Revolver disappear, and then he flicked his wrist again.
The Black Revolver appeared again on his hand, and he checked the chamber—the bullets were still there.
'Good. I was afraid that making the revolver disappear would make those bullets disappear. When I unsummon it, it will stay as the last thing I held onto it, bullets and all.'
Kael made it disappear again, pushed the brim of his hat to hide his eyes, and made his way down the alleyway.
'Raheem…'
…
On the top floor of his house, Raheem placed the crimson book on the bookshelf and took a deep breath.
"Another successful revenge completed."
He smiled.
"Mister Raheem, if there's no other need for me, I'll be heading home."
The fedora-wearing man said from the doorway.
"Thank you for your help today, Ashwin. I don't think there really is a need for a guard, but it doesn't hurt to be careful."
Raheem said with a smile.
With a tip of his fedora, the man stepped out of the front door and twirled his cane as he strolled away down the street.
The door closed, and Raheem went to the kitchen to brew some tea.
After making some scones to go with the tea, he settled down at the table to enjoy his afternoon snack.
One hand grabbed the teacup, while the other reached to the newspaper, and he read through the headlines to catch up on the day's news.
"Hmm? The head of the Luxus family has disappeared alongside his wife? They were heading to Kornacis to have the annual meeting with the Uran family and the rest of the subsidiary families.
"An increase in Rav'akari activity in the border… The Chainkeepers believe that Rav'akari have discovered another gateway and are trying to find it so they can close it…
"The Guild is thinking about doing exploration in the forest of the Perverted Justice. Tch, tch, they're still trying to kill one of the World Bosses?"
Raheem clicked his tongue and shook his head at the foolishness of the Guild.
Knock! Knock!
At that moment, someone knocked on his door.
