17. The Golem
Chloe now faces a problem. She doesn’t have any water.
She didn’t need a toilet until now and could keep herself otherwise clean.
And a drink comes with the Nourishment Package, so that also wasn’t necessary.
The not-needing-a-toilet part is weird, but she won’t dissect herself.
And with that, she invests into something before even having the body ready.
Well, wasn’t any different with the Zombie or Golem Creation Set.
It’s a faucet. She bought a faucet, next to the weird oven thingy, woch she found out sterilises things and cleanses them.
And a bucket. The faucet was 2000 Gold and the Bucket was 30 Gold.
Finally having a Bucket of water, which she needed since the faucet didn’t had that thing to prevent the drain of water, she put the core inside.
At first, she let only a part touch it, and watches how the ball dissolves into the the tiny crystal, before putting in anything.
Nothing happens.
Would be weird since it’s a defect Golem Core. It has the same problems as the one written for the Dust Golem.
Chloe just hopes that when she marks that as a Blueprint, the Core can somehow make a fog from it.
Or can it spawn as a fog when it’s own skills change it into one?
Chilly Body Lv 1-5 |
The Body is natural cooler than it should be and it works just fine. Additional Coldness from this skill will be harder to spread to the Surroundings. Lowers the range of Temperatures in which the Monster feels fine or even is healthy. Coldness increases with Level. High enough Level can lead to negation of minor temperature increases of the Monster. |
Air Resistance Negation Lv 1-10 |
To get less affected by wind and Air. Includes being blown away from Wind or running against one. Also increases Maximum Speed in a Free Fall. This skill is passiv! This skill won’t work on Mana-enhanced Wind! Effect increases with Level. |
Fragmented Brain Lv 1-10 |
When the Brain or something Synonymous is divided in many tiny Parts, then all the Tiny parts can connect to one big Mind or when already happening, enhance its Performance. The Fragments need to be connected in a stable way. At Level three, the merging to one big Mind is complete. The Nature of this skill can alter thought process of the Monster. Effect increases with Level. |
Connected Mind Lv 1-10 |
To connect the Minds of different beings and let them communicate. The closer the connected are to each other in form or having a special connection, the less levels are needed to connect. Superior beings can communicate one-sided. Can Connect multiple Minds inside the same Body, either making a connection or strengthening an already existing one. Effect increases with Level. |
Water Absorption Lv 1-10 |
To more effectively or be able to absorb water. Increases Maximum Storage Capacity or creates a Storage to store the Water. Water can also be used for abilities of the Monster. Effect increases with Level. |
Mana Absorption Lv 1-10 |
To more effectively or be able to absorb Mana from the surroundings. Minor increase in Resistance to natural occurring harmful Mana. Effects increases with Level. |
Disorientation Lv 1-10 |
To use one’s Body or Abilities to make other lose one’s sense of direction, or doing it better. Strengthens other Abilities who help. Effect increases with Level. |
Visual Impairment Lv 1-10 |
To use one’s Body or Abilities to render Vision useless or inhibit it, or doing it better. Makes it more likely to overlook something. May change body structure. Effect increases with Level. |
Disorder Sense (Distance) Lv 1-10 |
To make others who already confused or have a harder time keeping track of Distance, even harder to do so. Only possible when the Target can’t reliably measure Distance. May even confuse about the Time passed. Makes it harder to read Maps. Effect increases with Level. |
Confusion Lv 1-5 |
To Attack other Mentally so they get confused. Something specific can be targeted when attacking. Can use Mana to make it more effective and aggressive, or subtle. Makes Target more vulnerable to other sources of confusion. Source of Attack can be tracked back. Will be overridden by other Mental Attacks from the same individuals. Needs to be channeled. Effect increases with Level. |
Dampen Sound Lv 1-5 |
To Dampen Sound surrounding you by a bit. Needs to be actively used. Effect increases with Level |
Wind Sorcery Technique Lv 1-10 |
To be able to use Wind Sorcery more Effective and increasing Mastery. Effect increases with Level. Needs to be able to use Wind Sorcery. |
For Confusion, I thought of using some kind of skill which allows the Golem to stack the Effect, but it already to expensive, so I need to cut some things. Will be overridden by other Mental Attacks seems to include Confusion too, after Identify.
But it seems fine to not overdo it.
Or rather, with all o searched out, I have definitely overdone it.
First things First. Let’s put Air Resistance Negation, Chilly Body and Water Absorption away.
The first was because of caution to the ventilator and Wind Magic. Wind Magician would need to fill the Wind with Mana, which doesn’t equal with Wind created from Magic. At least, when Snow Magic isn’t the weird one.
The Golem can do what the other two skills can for himself. Water Absorption can help, but it can only absorb humidity, soo.
Yeah, putting it on the List was stupid, since the Golem can definitely Manage some air humidity without Problem.
Chilly Body could even backfire. Like someone throws a Fireball, and even more of the surrounding Fog vaporises because I lowered the minimum temperature to do so.
Yeah, also stupid. But I cut some thing because of that.
Let’s also cut Wind Sorcery Technique. The Golem isn’t build to do some great things with it. Just some Wind here and there, to spread.
Or cool its body. Nothing important enough to warrant the skill.
I will need Connected Minds at least Level one and Fragmented Brain at three. Fragmented can connect many tiny Brain fragments into one big Mind, but never said a thing about connecting the actual parts. So it can be that they still have to connect with way to much Mana.
I want to prevent that.
Then, Confusion, Dampen Sound, Visual Impairment, Disorder Sense (Distance), and Disorientation.
Confusion is the Mental Attack skill, which is a must. Other support or/and Benefit from it.
I also plan to use every other. Disorientation and Disorder Sense (Distance) to make them get lost.
Visual Impairment to support it. I won’t give him Air Resistance Negation, so a bit of hand waving could clear enough room for marking or similar, even for a short while.
But it will be a pain in the ass to find breadcrumbs if one can’t see one’s hand. And yes, it can work.
Layla told me how some Intruders used that tactic against her Fog machine. It was more work, but seemingly effective.
The probably only Reason not everyone did it, was because the fog machine wasn’t that much trouble in the end.
They still could hunt, even if they had to be more careful and aware of where they turned.
And Dampen Sound to… gracefully mislead the sense of Distance again.
I am not an expert, but Laylas Dungeon were Chambers and Hall underground, so it will echo.
Or when someone talks right behind you, but feels like him being one metre away.
Since the skill has to be consciously activated, it won’t help sneaky guys.
On contrary, when everything is silent, or rather dampened, someone being normal loud will stand out like a sour thump.
Or maybe the Golem can use Wind sorcery to make the Sound even more Clear?
Oh, well. Let’s look at the Cost.
And yes, no Mana absorption. He gets sustained by the Dungeon. Probably. The Core currently gets supplied by my room, so it should work.
