Chapter 132: Hidden Beauty?
An infuriated Attilicia leapt up, her hind hooves landing squarely on the face of the infatuated Druid before she took off, disappearing in the blink of an eye into the storm clouds that had yet to disperse. The Druids, too late to give chase, were left feeling lost and awkwardly indecisive, unsure whether to pursue their budding romances or first assist the Silver Dragon they knew, their former moonlight muse.
With a thunderous crash, the female Silver Dragon broke through the steam clouds and landed heavily, the ground beneath her instantly collapsing into a massive sinkhole. But, as she had anticipated, she did not catch the unexpectedly fierce Red Dragon Whelp.
Shalaina, her entire body aching and some scales on her chest and abdomen scorched black and curled, had made up her mind. She was determined to knock this Red Dragon Whelp down for its unusual dragon breath, and then send it back to Dragon Island to be personally supervised and trained by her father, the Dragon combat instructor. Otherwise, if it were left to grow... in a few decades, another major calamity would arise on the Granyel Continent. She had always been a keen judge of dragons. Except for Attilicia, that perverse individual who liked to transform into a female. Speaking of Attilicia, the Drow's buttocks just now did rather resemble his High Elf form!
Shalaina, what on earth are you thinking! Your idol is already "dead"!
"Red Dragon Whelp! Come out and face me in a fair fight, and I swear I won't kill you!"
No sooner had the roar of the fierce female Silver Dragon echoed through the woods than a strong inhaling sound suddenly came from the east, which was covered by haze and the rainstorm. The surrounding wind and rain seemed to reverse course as if being drawn into a whirlpool that had appeared out of nowhere.
[Authority—Gluttony]
At the end of the dissipating mist was the Red Dragon—or rather, its jaws, opened to their absolute limit.
The group of Druids screamed in the wild wind. But to David's surprise, these Druids reacted completely differently from those Drow before. As they were about to be sucked into the Dragon's maw, the one who seemed to be their transport squad leader shouted, "Sorrowful Wind Cult—Aeroria combat team, transform!"
"ROAR!!!"
The Druids, stumbling and rolling on the ground, transformed amidst their wild roars into brown bears, giant eagles, earth elementals, and one even became a Great Armored Dragon. Leveraging their own weight, which was no less than David the Red Dragon Whelp's, they managed to steady themselves one by one. They even acted like Jack Dawson in peril, grabbing hold of their similarly stumbling steeds.
David, who had taken in a large gulp of air, wasn't too disappointed. Without anything entering his mouth to disturb his memory, it was easier to remain clear-headed at that moment. Seeing the Druids now encumbered by weaknesses, he released an 'air cannon' similar to a massively enlarged Badamon from the world of Digital Monsters.
"Get back!!!"
Accompanied by this 'air breath', the ground in the conical area before him rolled up, trees were uprooted, and the beast-transformed Druids could only huddle together to shield their beloved steeds beneath them. This alone showed that these High Elf Druids were far superior to Yevgeny, who in the past had goaded his horse into ramming David's rear.
Just as David spread his wings to dart toward Splendor Avenue in Dewensen City, he instantly found himself back at the cliff. He could even see his Silver Dragon father below on the avenue reactivate the Teleportation Gate on the 'shield'. His father had transformed into a rabbit perched at the edge of the portal, stealthily waving his paws at him.
Over here, over here, he gestured, urging David to hurry inside.
Then, David heard a low chanting sound from behind him.
David had just silently sensed trouble when the ground began to vibrate faintly. Just as he flapped his wings to gain altitude, the disordered forest below suddenly sprouted clumps of vines and roots. They came to life, spreading rapidly toward him as if with a will of their own. At the same time, he saw the Druid who had transformed into a 'Great Armored Dragon' stand erect. This Druid pointed a claw toward the sky, perennially shrouded by dark clouds. His eyes flickered with green light, as if reflecting moonlight that pierced the cloud sea above the deep forest. His voice, deep and resolute, recited the ancient language of nature. This was their Druid pact with the earth and the moon!
As his voice gradually rose, David suddenly looked up to see the clouds churning, as if stirred by some unseen force. Then, a bright beam of light shot out from the clouds, directly enveloping him. This beam was as pure as moonlight. As a Red Dragon, David appeared even more majestic under this beam, yet he could not avoid its illumination. Slowly, his entire body seemed to be enveloped by a bright halo. Although the moonlight radiation didn't inflict much damage, the obstruction to his vision was significant; it was as if an oversized searchlight from above was blasting him, nearly blinding him within seconds.
"Not bad, nicely done!" came the voice of the female Silver Dragon from behind him.
Just as he was about to be entangled by the vines and roots, David swiftly turned to face the Silver Dragon and the Druids, grappling the surging vegetation with all six claws.
[Authority—Jealousy]
[Authority—Greed]
[Authority—Pride]
In an instant, all the spellcasting Druids were shocked to find the attacking plants and roots suddenly go out of control. Not only that, but as an ancient language of nature burst from the Red Dragon's mouth, the vegetation underfoot grew wildly, binding all the Druids—transformed into cattle, horses, bears, and dragons—on the spot.
[Entanglement]
If a Red Dragon using [Entanglement] was within their comprehension, what happened next was beyond belief. As the dark clouds roiled, sixty-three bright, pillar-like moonbeams descended. It was as though a hundred moons hung in the sky, a truly spectacular sight. As the moonlight scorched their fur, curling it painfully and eliciting screams, the Druid leader finally let out an incredulous roar.
"This is impossible!!!"
Although [Moonlight Spell] was only a second-circle spell of modest power, it was a spell only Druids could learn and had increasingly become a symbol of the Moon Sect. A Red Dragon? A Druid? And one from their Moon Sect, too? Had the world gone mad?
But what was even more unbelievable followed. The vines and roots that had entangled the Red Dragon twisted in mid-air to form swords.
"Go!"
In that instant, David, suspended in mid-air, seemed like a Sword Immortal from a neighboring cultivation world, where every plant was a soldier. Under the barrage of the sword rain, he'd turned the group of Druids into porcupines. It was fortunate that most had transformed into animals with thick hides; otherwise, still in their Elf forms, they might have been pierced like sieves.
Naturally, Shalaina was also assailed by the entangling vines, moonlight, and the rain of plant-swords. Yet, she twisted in the air like a rolling crocodile, sweeping away all obstacles, and charged unstoppably towards David. But she was too late. She saw the Red Dragon flying backward in a backstroke style, turning its head to flash her the same taunting smile as before, then diving headfirst into the shield in the middle of the road, which shimmered with a faint blue light.
"Don't you dare leave!!!" Shalaina, behind him, was nearly driven mad with rage.
However, David didn't leave immediately. Instead, he turned and wagged his plump rear at the female Silver Dragon behind him, his suddenly erect tail akin to a raised middle finger. He taunted her to the extreme. But David wasn't just taunting; if he were caught by the female Dragon, he risked being surrounded by Dewensen's reinforcements!
"Dad! Give me a hand... My butt, my butt is stuck!"
"Huh?" Attilicia was also flustered, but before he could lend a hand, David let out a pained shriek. His butt! It had been bitten by the furious female Dragon!
In his desperation, David could no longer worry about wasting his [Lust] Authority. He immediately activated [Lust], using a technique akin to bone-shrinking, to pull his lower half from the Dragon's maw, all the while kicking the female Dragon's face with his hind legs. Just as he stretched his body by nearly a quarter of its length, now resembling a dachshund, David popped out of the Teleportation Gate with a sharp POP! The female Silver Dragon relentlessly pursued, shoving half her Dragon Kiss into the gate, roaring threats, "Damn you, Red Dragon Whelp! Get out here..."
David and his father exchanged glances. Then, before she could transform into something else and rush in, they both lifted their feet and stomped on Shalaina's half-visible face protruding through the opening.
The Silver Dragon shrieked through the pain and humiliation, "Damn it! I'll remember your face! May your Dragon Queen protect you! Don't let me, Shalaina, ever see you again!"
As her Dragon Kiss withdrew, Attilicia swiftly sealed the Teleportation Gate.
"Hiss... Is that female Dragon really a Silver Dragon? She's way too ferocious!"
"Right? I mean, with a fiery and violent temperament like a Red Dragon's, she'll never find a Silver Dragon mate in her life..."
But before Attilicia could finish, glancing at his son's blood-red scales, a wildly inappropriate thought surged in his mind. He quickly dismissed it, especially upon seeing David's profusely bleeding rear end, and he felt a pang of guilt for his own actions earlier that day. He immediately raised his hand towards David's butt, preparing a healing spell. "Come on, let Dad take a look."
"Keep your hands off!" David, still seething, refused to let his Drow-faced father inspect his butt, which had been mauled bloody by the Tyrannosaurus. He swept his father's pesky hands away with his tail.
"Don't move." Attilicia, unfazed, firmly held David's rear to examine the wound, disinfected it, and then began casting a [Healing Spell] himself.
David asked in confusion, "Huh, what's on the other side of this Teleportation Gate? Your hideout? Holy crap, what's this? Are you hiding a mistress here, old man?"
"I'm still single, okay! Don't you remember? Haven't you been to my church?"
As Attilicia spoke, he suddenly remembered something. Turning abruptly, he saw his son's tail lifting a set of lacy lingerie from the bed.
"...Ah, this."
Only then did Attilicia finally recall... His Justice Church had been demolished by Shalaina! So... The memory of his astronomical debt and his church, now razed to the ground, surfaced. Malice surged within him.
"This is the Mage Tower of that Silver Dragon who bit your butt!"
"I'll disable this Mage Tower's magical defenses. We're going to loot it dry."
"Huh?" David, the lingerie still dangling from the tip of his tail, was momentarily dumbfounded. Can we really do that?
