The Reapers : Sons of the Void

Chapter 3: CHAPTER 3: Silence and Shadow

🎙️Narrator (Voice Over):

"Sometimes, the greatest battle hides in the silence that comes before it.

And sometimes… the course of fate shifts while the world sleeps."

Leonhardt Kingdom – Guest ChambersNight had fallen.

Within the massive stone walls of the palace, only the whispers of wind echoed.

Miller lay on his back in bed, staring at the ceiling.

Even the softest pillows couldn't quiet the storm in his mind.

Miller (inner voice):

"What did Pendragon mean?

He said there's something inside us.

But I still don't know what I've fallen into.

Back in Canada, my biggest problem was the history exam…

Now it's swords, kings, prophecies..."

In the next room, Brien had cracked open the window, staring into the night sky.

His eyes wandered, then he sighed softly.

Brien (inner voice):

"This place... it's another world.

But there's a strange unease in me.

Pendragon's eyes... it felt like he was afraid of us.

Why are we really here?

And what is he hiding?"

The scene drifts… out of their rooms…

beyond the palace… descending underground—

deep, deeper still...

The Realm of Torment – The Forgotten ThronePitch black. Not a single flame flickers.

Yet in the void, a heavy, metallic breath echoes.

A figure on a throne lifts his head.

Noctur Veyne, lord of the realm of torment, looks bound to his throne by chains of darkness.

Noctur Veyne (in a hushed tone):

"I've waited for years...

It pleased me to be forgotten by this world.

But Pendragon, you reminded me I was never truly gone."

A demon-like figure kneels beside him.

Demonic Commander:

"The two newcomers…

Are they the blood of the prophecy?"

Noctur Veyne:

"Not yet.

But they will be.

And before I drag them into darkness...

I will bring this world to its knees."

A map unfurls before him.

A forgotten northern border of Leonhardt...

A long-sealed passage trembles quietly.

Noctur Veyne:

"Tomorrow night, the seal will break.

For the first time, shadow shall step into daylight.

Pendragon… your peace ended long ago.

And yet you still call them hope."

Back in the Palace – Just Before DawnMiller turns in his bed, eyes half-open.

Brien still stands by the window.

Suddenly, the wind howls louder. The window slams shut.

Brien (whispers):

"Is someone... watching us?"

🎙️Narrator:

"The silence of the night...

is often the loudest scream of the dark.

And Leonhardt... was no longer asleep."

Night – Miller's RoomTime passes. The palace is still.

Not even the guards' footsteps break the silence.

Miller, finally closing his eyes, drifts into sleep—

but not an ordinary sleep.

Dream RealmMiller finds himself in a blindingly white void.

There is no ground, no sky—just floating silence.

He walks, though there's nothing beneath his feet.

Suddenly...

The sky splits.

A crack of darkness opens like a scar.

A voice echoes from within:

Mysterious Voice (low and whispering):

"See before you wake...

And remember what you see, Miller."

The scene shifts instantly—

He now stands in a battlefield.

The Leonhardt Kingdom is burning.

The sky glows crimson.

The earth is torn.

Screams of people echo from all directions.

Atop a ruined tower stands a dark figure—

clad in obsidian armor: Noctur Veyne.

Miller doesn't know him, but he feels the fear.

They lock eyes.

Noctur Veyne (in the dream):

"What you see is a shadow of the future.

Your choice will shape the fate of this world."

Suddenly, Brien appears—

Wounded, armor shattered, barely standing.

Brien (strained):

"Miller... we were too late…

If we don't stop him… everything ends..."

The vision crumbles.

The ground collapses.

A flood of shadows charges toward Miller.

Dark Voice:

"If you awaken without claiming your power…

you will vanish."

Miller (shouting):

"Who are you?! What is this?!"

He wakes up.

Gasping. Drenched in sweat.

The first light of morning slips into the room.

Outside his door, Brien's voice calls:

🎙️Narrator:

"Sometimes, fate whispers softly.

And sometimes… before it becomes a scream,

you must learn to listen."

Night – Brien's Room🎙️Narrator (with rising tension):

"Every hero meets fate differently…

Some with silence, some with prayer…

But few—like Brien Brindson—argue with it."

Brien lies in bed, blanket tangled around his legs.

Brien:

"This bed's too big to sleep alone…

Kinda feels like freedom and depression at the same time."

His eyes close.

The dream begins.

Dream Realm – The Veth-Ra CouncilBrien opens his eyes in a radiant white plain.

Around him stand 10 Reaper warriors, forming a crescent.

Their eyes glow with white light.

Their armor glistens with silent authority.

They watch him—expressionless.

Brien:

"So... this is the heavenly lobby?

Feels more like a very intense yoga retreat."

Female Reaper (firm, noble voice):

"Welcome, Brien Brindson.

There are truths you must hear.

We are the Veth-Ra—guardians of the Reaper bloodline."

Brien glances around, then raises his hands:

Brien:

"So, this is a formal meet-and-greet?

No tea or cookies? Bit of a harsh welcome."

Varthas (stepping forward, stern):

"You are not here to jest, child.

Your blood defines your fate.

You are a pure Reaper.

But your behavior… reflects a street fool."

Brien (arms crossed):

"Easy, Mr. Angry Eyebrows.

You look at me like I just insulted your entire lineage.

Loosen up."

Female Reaper:

"You cannot bear your destiny with such flippancy."

Brien:

"My destiny might be light…

But my words carry weight. Tread carefully."

Varthas (stepping closer):

"Keep that attitude, and you'll walk your path alone."

Brien:

"I was born alone.

I've battled with myself more than anyone else.

And trust me—your dramatic speeches don't scare me."

Another Reaper approaches.

Younger. Calmer. Her name is Elenis.

Elenis:

"You are different, Brien.

Your light… may shine brighter than others.

But what you do with it… that is your choice."

For a moment, Brien is silent.

Then, softly:

Brien:

"Wow... someone who sees hope in me.

Usually, people call me annoying, too loud, or a walking disaster.

Thanks for... seeing something else."

Elenis (smiling):

"Sometimes, light comes with noise, Brien."

But Varthas cuts in again:

Varthas:

"That very light may bring chaos.

He could open doors that should stay shut."

Brien:

"Bro. Chill.

If fate wants to wrestle, I've got cleats."

Female Reaper:

"And Miller?

Do you trust him?"

Brien:

"Yes.

He's the first person who doesn't try to silence me."

Silence follows.

Then Elenis speaks again—this time, deeper:

Elenis:

"Miller is more than you know.

He is not just Reaper.

He carries… other essences.

Vartikan.

Nebulis.

And… he is not mortal."

Brien (shocked):

"What… did you say?"

Chief Reaper:

"Miller is a Hybrid.

A shadow where light and dark converge.

When he awakens... the world will fall silent.

He will bring either ruin... or rebirth."

Brien's eyes mist.

For the first time—he's afraid not for himself,

but for someone else.

Brien:

"Did you tell him?"

Elenis (calmly):

"No.

Because if we warn him... the chains will break.

Only one person can shape his fate, Brien.

And that... is you."

Brien (voice trembling):

"Why me?"

Chief Reaper:

"Because you...

are the only one who will never leave him."

The dream fades.

Brien (whispering):

"Miller…

Fighting beside you was easy.

But living beside you…

That's a responsibility."

Brien AwakensHe sits up.

Tears in his eyes.

A smile on his lips—sad, but determined.

Brien (inner voice):

"I'm pure...

He's something else entirely.

But no matter what...

I won't let him walk this alone."

Suddenly—

A scream pierces the silence.

Miller's voice.

Torn, dark, filled with pain.

Brien jumps up, bolts to the door,

and bursts into the hallway.

Miller's Room – Just After the DreamMiller sits on his bed, staring at his trembling hands.

Miller (low):

"No, Brien…

That wasn't just a dream.

It felt like a warning."

Brien rushes in and freezes.

He looks into Miller's eyes.

They're no longer the same.

His pupils burn with deep orange—

Like molten lava—like the eyes of a dragon.

Brien (whispers):

"Your eyes…

You're... not just you anymore."

Miller (confused):

"My eyes? What did you see?"

Brien:

"A dragon…

Not terrifying—wise.

Silent for so long... and now awake."

Miller (shaky):

"Maybe… I'm not alone inside.

Maybe… someone else is waking up."

Brien:

"Whoever it is…

If they try to take you from you—

They'll have to get through me first."

🎙️Narrator (ancient tone):

"Eyes cannot hide the power within.

And sometimes… a single gaze breaks the chain of fate."
