The Real Life System

Chapter 15: Adrian’s Team

Adrian looked around. The place was completely empty, silent, endless, and just as strange as it had been in the first exercise.

In front of him stood five doors, each one tall and mysterious, just like in Exercise 1.

Bold, capitalized letters appeared before his eyes:

"DOOR 2: The Second Need of Maslow's Hierarchy"

A golden key materialized in front of him, floating in the air. But this time, it had a beautifully sculpted number "2" engraved on it.

Now, he had the ability to open the second door.

Without hesitation, he grabbed the key and stepped forward. As he placed it into the lock, a faint glow surrounded the door. It slowly creaked open.

Beneath the title, a block of text appeared:

Security Needs:

"Once physiological needs are met, an individual moves toward security needs. These include not only physical safety but also financial stability and protection from various dangers. The pursuit of security becomes particularly evident in times of stress or economic uncertainty. People seek stable jobs, safe living environments, and social protection systems to ensure their well-being."

Adrian's eyes moved carefully over the words.

"Mmm… that gives me some idea of what the exercise might be about. It's hard to guess exactly, but anyway, let's open the door and see."

As Adrian stepped through the door, he found himself in a small city. He looked around—there were many shops, companies, and businesses.

However, he noticed something unusual. About 100 people were in the streets, homeless. Each of them had a skill, and thanks to the system, Adrian could see exactly what each person was good at.

In the city, there were also three buildings available for rent:

A small building that could house 10 people for 1,000$. A medium-sized building that could house 30 people for 3,000$. A large building that could house 50 people for 5,000$.

Then, a system notification appeared:

[ You have initially: 1,000$ ]

[ TARGET: 10,000$ ]

[ TIME LIMIT: 3 DAYS ]

Adrian quickly understood the challenge. He had 3 days to start multiplying his money.

Looking around, he saw a company where employees were working. Using the system, he could see the activities of every company and shop in the city.

Adrian realized his main goal:

He needed to convince companies and shops to invest in him.To do that, he had to find important services that he could offer them.He could use the homeless people, assign them jobs, and solve major business problems. But first, he needed to buy buildings to house the workers before they could start working.

Then, an important thought crossed his mind:

"These people in the streets need stability. But what about the shop owners and investors? They are already stable… They must be looking for something higher on Maslow's pyramid… Maybe the third level?"

For the first time, Adrian truly started to understand Maslow's hierarchy of needs and how important it was to use this knowledge to make money.

"This system is not just about strength or intelligence… It's about understanding people and what they need. If I can figure that out, I can win."

With a determined look, Adrian took a deep breath.

"Alright, let's do this."

He opened the system and analyzed the skills of the homeless individuals and the needs of the company employees. Some of the homeless people were talented in coding, writing, carpentry, accounting, marketing, and even engineering. Meanwhile, company employees needed help with reports, coding bugs, design work, and financial calculations.

Adrian knew he had to act fast. He had only 1,000$, and his goal was 10,000$ in three days.

The first thing he did was buy two computers for 200$. This would help him plan better, research business strategies, and create presentations for convincing shop owners.

Now, it was time to analyze the businesses. Adrian walked through the city, observing how different shops worked.

Clothing Shop: He noticed that the designs of their clothes were old-fashioned. People might be more interested in modern and stylish designs.

Food Shops : There were two food shops, "Food 1" and "Food 2", located close to each other.

Food 1 had a long queue of customers.

Food 2 had fewer customers, even though the system showed that its food quality and taste were much better than Food 1.

Adrian now had a clear plan:

Improve the clothing shop's sales by upgrading its designs and marketing.

Help "Food 2" attract more customers by using a better business strategy.

To do this, he needed a strong team. Out of the 100 homeless people, he carefully chose 7 skilled individuals:

Two (2) talented designers, to create better clothing and food stickers designs.

Two (2) marketing experts, to advertise the clothes and food shop.

One (1) public speaker to persuade customers, investors and shop owners.

One (1) video animator to create promotional videos for advertisements.

One (1) fashion model to showcase new clothing styles and attract more customers.

Convincing them was surprisingly easy. They weren't looking for high salaries, luxury, or status. All they wanted was basic survival, a roof over their heads and food to eat. Adrian quickly realized something important:

The lower a person is on Maslow's Hierarchy, the easier they are to persuade.

Since they were only focused on their physiological needs , they accepted his offer without hesitation.

"If persuasion is this simple at the bottom of the pyramid," Adrian thought, "it must get harder as you go up. The higher someone's needs, the more complex their motivations become. Dealing with shop owners and investors will be a much bigger challenge."

This realization was key. If he wanted to succeed, he would have to adapt his persuasion tactics for people at different levels of Maslow's Hierarchy.

With his team ready and a deeper understanding of human motivation, Adrian was one step closer to his goal.

Now, it was time to put the plan into action.

To gain their trust and services, Adrian made a bold decision. He rented 8 places in the smallest building, costing 800$ .

This was a risky move, leaving him with 00$, but it was necessary.

Luckily, the building provided free food, so they wouldn't have to worry about meals.

"Now I have a team, a place for them to stay, and a clear goal. I need to start making deals with the shop owners and proving our value. If I succeed, we'll start earning money fast!"

With his plan in motion, Adrian felt more confident than ever. It was time to take action

The system displayed the latest update:

[Your Budget: $0]

[Target: $10,000]

[Time Left: 65:12:05]

Adrian took a deep breath. He had now gathered his team, but they needed a solid strategy. He stood before them, ready to explain the plan.

"Hi everyone, I'm Adrian. Just like you, I'm someone trying to earn money and build a better future. Maybe you're wondering why I chose you today. The answer is simple: I believe in you. I believe that each of you has unique skills that can help us succeed."

He paused, looking at their faces. Some were curious, some doubtful, but all were listening.

"I want to create two teams. For that reason, I've bought two PCs to help us work efficiently. But before we start, I need to understand each of your skills better. So please, introduce yourselves. Tell us what you're good at. This will help me divide you into the best teams possible."

The first to step forward was a man in his late twenties.

"I'm Dyop, 29 years old. Due to some family problems, I lost my home and ended up on the streets. But before that, I was a strong speaker. I could communicate well with people and persuade them, even if I didn't have deep knowledge on a topic."

Adrian nodded, smiling slightly. He already knew their skills from the system, but he wanted them to introduce themselves naturally. This wasn't just about gathering information, it was about building trust.

As the others continued introducing themselves, Adrian's smile grew slightly darker, a clever, knowing smile.

"I already know exactly what each of them is capable of," he thought,

"but letting them speak builds confidence and makes them feel valued. If they trust me, they'll follow my lead without hesitation."

Adrian listened carefully as his team spoke. With every introduction, his plan became clearer. He was not just creating a business, he was creating a system that used human nature itself to succeed.

Now, it was time to assign roles and start the real work.
