Chapter 36: Chapter 36: Crushing the Flamingo
"Fufufufu...!!" Doflamingo's wild laughter echoed in the wind and snow. His face was savage, his pink feather coat long since soaked in blood. The sticky blood dripped from his chin but did not hide the madness in his eyes. He suddenly spread his arms, and the ground beneath his feet suddenly rose, churning like the sea. The awakened power of his String-String Fruit instantly dyed the surrounding hundreds of meters of ruins into a domain of white strings.
"ROY!!" That roar was like a volcanic eruption. Conqueror's Haki exploded violently, red and black lightning splitting the night sky, pouring out in all directions with a destructive presence. The snow was sent flying by the shockwave, and the air seemed to be burning. "You think... I would lose to someone like you?!"
Doflamingo's eyes were bloodshot, the veins on his forehead bulging like dragons.
Roy watched him coldly, not a ripple in his eyes, but a disdainful curve slowly appeared on his lips. "Conqueror's Haki?"
The next second—
"BOOM!!!"
A Conqueror's Haki even more violent than Doflamingo's erupted from Roy's body. The black and red lightning was like a giant dragon that swallowed everything, instantly crushing Doflamingo's Haki domain. That presence was like the descent of a god.
The snow curtain was sent flying like a tide, and the dark clouds in the sky were torn apart, revealing the black night sky. Doflamingo's pupils constricted, his face as pale as paper, his knees uncontrollably bending. "Are you kidding me... how is that possible..."
But before the fear in his heart could fully erupt, he slammed his hands together and roared in anger, "Thousand Arrows: Flap Thread!!" The ground exploded, and countless threads wrapped in Haki poured out like a rainstorm, as if to completely drown Roy in a white sea of death.
Roy's eyes turned cold. He slowly drew back his right arm, and Armament Haki wrapped around his fist like a black flame, transforming into a destructive meteor.
"Fist Bone: Meteor!"
"BANG!!!"
A terrifying shockwave exploded with a tremendous sound. The air shattered like glass, and all the threads disintegrated into dust the moment they came into contact with the force of the punch. Doflamingo's figure was sent flying backward in the violent aftershock like a broken kite, crashing through three buildings. Bricks and stones flew, and in the rolling dust, he coughed up a large mouthful of blood before he could barely stop.
"Finger Pistol: Spot!!" A sound of something cutting through the air suddenly came from the shadows. Vergo's figure was like a sharp sword, his entire body wrapped in black Armament Haki, his fingers shining with a cold light as he aimed for Roy's back.
"You're courting death." Roy's eyelids lifted slightly. Without turning his head, he countered with a "Fist Bone" from his left fist, which came down like thunder.
"CLANG!!"
In that instant, Vergo's Armament Haki and Roy's fist collided, actually making a sound like metal on metal. Sparks flew, and the air trembled violently.
"It's useless!!" Vergo sneered, a hint of pride in his eyes. "My Armament Haki is..."
"CRACK!!"
A shattering sound suddenly rang out. Vergo's pupils widened, his eyes filled with disbelief. The seemingly thick layer of Armament Haki on him actually cracked like glass. "What?!"
"BANG!!"
The next instant, that punch landed solidly on Vergo's chest. His chest caved in, and blood mixed with bone fragments sprayed out. Vergo was sent flying back dozens of meters like a broken doll, crashing deep into the ruins, his entire body swallowed by the rubble. Blood seeped from between the cracks in the rubble, dyeing the snow red.
Just then—
"God Thread: God Execution!!!" Doflamingo's roar echoed across the snowy plain. Eight giant white threads, coated in Armament Haki, shot up from the ground like spears of judgment, tearing through the wind and snow, aiming straight for Roy.
Roy finally turned around, his eyes as cold as ice. "You guys are really pushing it, aren't you?" A spatial ripple suddenly appeared in his palm—
"SWISH!!!"
The eight God Execution threads all vanished, reappearing the next second in front of the heavily injured Vergo.
"Doffy... save..." A flash of death was reflected in Vergo's pupils. He struggled to get up but was too late.
"BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!!!"
The eight white threads completely engulfed him. Flesh and shattered bone were splattered on the snow in a savage totem, his screams annihilated in the roar.
"Ver...go...?" Doflamingo stood there, stunned, his sunglasses falling off, revealing his bloodshot eyes. His lips trembled, and a hoarse roar escaped his throat. Vergo, his top executive, his family, his right-hand man... was dead just like that?
"ROY!!!"
In the blizzard, Roy's cape fluttered. He slowly walked towards the collapsing Doflamingo, his Fist Bone once again wrapped in Haki. "It's time to end this, little flamingo."
Doflamingo suddenly looked up, his eyes bloodshot, but he had already lost the will to fight. His body trembled slightly, whether from anger or fear.
"Young Master!!" In the distance, Trebol, Pica, Diamante, and the other Donquixote Family executives finally arrived. However, when they saw the battlefield before them, they all felt as if they had fallen into an ice cellar, their faces pale.
—Vergo's shattered remains were nailed to the ruins, his blood dyeing the entire snowfield red, like a bloody flag of shame.
—And Roy was holding Doflamingo's head with one hand, pressing him firmly to the broken ground. That fist, coated in black-flame-like Armament Haki, was raised high, as if it would completely crush that proud head in the next second.
"Rear Admiral! Please spare him!!" Trebol rushed forward, crying and howling, his fat face covered in snot and tears, looking utterly pathetic.
Roy turned his head slightly, his cold gaze sweeping over him as if looking at an ant. "What right do pirates have to negotiate with me?"
Trebol fell to his knees in the snow with a "thud," his voice trembling. "We... we are willing to pay the price! As long as you spare the Young Master, we will give you anything!"
"Treasure? Wealth?" Roy sneered, the Armament Haki on his fist flickering slightly. "What do you have that is worth me letting him go?"
Trebol kowtowed frantically, his voice trembling. "Devil Fruits! And intelligence! As long as you ask, we will offer them with both hands!"
Diamante quickly added, "Rear Admiral, we recently obtained a Logia-type Devil Fruit... it can definitely be exchanged for the Young Master's life!"
As he spoke, the pupils of Doflamingo, who was being pressed to the ground, suddenly constricted, his face instantly turning grim. Clearly, he was extremely reluctant to exchange a fruit for his life. His face twitched, and he wanted to say something, but under the pressure of Roy's mountain-like palm, he ultimately couldn't speak.
Roy raised an eyebrow slightly, a deep meaning in his eyes. "A Logia..." His gaze swept over the kneeling executives, then he looked down at the suppressed Doflamingo, his gaze as indifferent as an abyss.
"The Marines, for now, cannot openly defy the World Government... It's time to find suitable Devil Fruits for Ace and the others."
"Besides, my mission here is complete. Letting these small fries go won't have much of an impact on the bigger picture. As for Dressrosa... hmph, they probably won't have the chance..."
He withdrew his gaze, his tone cold and calm. "Alright. Use all your Devil Fruits and intelligence to exchange for Doflamingo's life. And that Logia fruit, deliver it to the designated location within a week."
"Don't even think about trying to fool me. If I want to find you, you can't run."
Trebol, as if granted a pardon, kowtowed repeatedly. "Yes! Yes! We'll prepare immediately!"
Roy slowly released his hand. Doflamingo staggered to his feet, his expression twisting for a moment, the humiliation and anger in his eyes almost erupting, but he ultimately chose to remain silent.
"Get lost," Roy said lightly, his gaze like ice. "There won't be a next time, little flamingo."
The Donquixote Family executives hurriedly helped Doflamingo up and retreated in a pathetic state. In the wind and snow, Doflamingo looked back at Roy once, his gaze as sinister as a venomous snake, as if he would carve this moment of humiliation into his very soul. He would never forget this shame.
Roy stood in the wind and snow, watching the Donquixote Family retreat. After a long while, he slowly turned and walked towards Rosinante and Law's hiding place.
"Phew..." Just then, fine particles of light slowly gathered beside him, forming a blurry figure—Kizaru's lazy form gradually appeared, his hands in his pockets, a half-smile on his lips.
"Well, well, that's quite something, Rear Admiral Roy. You actually made a deal with them." Kizaru's gaze was meaningful as he looked at Roy. Clearly, he had noticed everything but had no intention of interfering. "But... I can probably guess who you want that fruit for." He narrowed his eyes, the smile on his lips seeming to deepen. "Well, as long as the mission is complete, that's all that matters. Let's go back to the warship."
The night wind was cool, and the snow was still falling. Roy nodded slightly, his gaze as deep as an abyss, and turned to stride into the snowy night.
—Mission complete. It was time to go back.
