The Pinnacle of the Navy! Starting from Being Captured by Garp

Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Warship Jump

3 years later, Year 1506 of the Sea Circle Calendar, G-3 Branch Training Ground.

"BOOM—!!!"

The entire training ground shook violently. Dust flew, and rubble rolled. The surrounding soldiers were knocked off balance, all staring with wide eyes at the towering figure in the center of the field.

Roy—16 years old, a full three meters tall. His muscle definition was as perfect and powerful as a sculpture, every inch containing terrifying explosive power. His upper body was bare, the veins on his arms bulging. He was holding a super-heavy iron ball, specially made by Garp and compressed to the extreme, with one hand.

That iron ball weighed at least two thousand tons, its surface covered in iron rivets specially made by Garp, reflecting a cold light.

"THUD!"

Roy gently placed the iron ball back on the ground. The moment it landed, the entire plaza's tiles were lifted, as if by a small earthquake.

"Senior Roy... that's too exaggerated..."

"That's Vice Admiral Garp's specially made two-thousand-ton iron ball! He can actually train with it in one hand?!"

"Damn it, I've been training for three years and I can't even lift three tons..."

The soldiers all looked at Roy's back, their eyes filled with both admiration and deep envy.

But Roy just wiped the sweat from his forehead and calmly looked at Garp, who was slowly walking over.

Garp had his arms crossed, his mouth full of rice crackers, his eyes narrowed into crescents. "You brat, you've improved again!"

Roy nodded. "It's alright."

Garp laughed and, as usual, slapped him on the back with a "BANG!". This time, Roy didn't move an inch.

Garp's smile widened. "That old geezer Sengoku has been rushing me several times, wanting you to go back to Headquarters for a promotion to Rear Admiral."

As he chewed on his rice crackers, he bumped Roy with his shoulder, grinning mischievously. "You've wiped out too many pirate crews these past few years. Even guys with bounties over 100 million would rather detour to G-5 than pass by our area, hahaha!"

Roy raised an eyebrow. "So I'm going back to Headquarters now?"

Garp waved his hand, then suddenly leaned in and lowered his voice. "Not yet."

His eyes darted around, a foxy grin on his face. "Actually, I want to go back to the East Blue... Your fruit's ability should be able to teleport an entire warship now, right? Take me back to see."

Roy was slightly stunned. "The East Blue?" He thought to himself, "Luffy probably hasn't been sent there yet at this time... does he want to see Ace?" After a moment of thought, he nodded. "Alright."

Garp's eyes lit up, as if he had seen a new toy, his eyes shining with excitement. "That's my disciple! Let's go, let's go, let's go now!"

At the G-3 branch port, the iconic dog-headed warship was docked. The subordinate, Bogard, was standing on the deck with his sword. Seeing Garp and Roy approach, he raised an eyebrow and said lightly, "Mr. Garp, where are you off to this time?"

Garp waved. "Bogard! You're coming with me too!"

Bogard was stunned. "...Yes, sir."

The three of them boarded the warship. Roy walked steadily to the center of the ship, placed his hands on the railing, and closed his eyes, feeling the sea breeze. He took a deep breath, and his fruit's ability activated. "VMMM—!" The ship trembled slightly, as if it were about to break free from gravity. The ship's body seemed to melt into the air, a sense of distortion rippling around it.

Garp stood on the deck, his eyes shining, shouting with the excitement of a child, "Quick! Let me see your limit!"

"Swish!"

Space distorted in an instant. The entire warship was as if it had been kneaded into a canvas by an invisible giant hand, then unfolded again a hundredth of a second later. The entire warship vanished amidst the cries of alarm from the crowd.

Only faint ripples were left on the sea's surface, as if nothing had happened.

The port soldiers at the G-3 branch stared with wide eyes at the suddenly vanished warship, bewildered. "...What just happened?!"

A few pieces of paper, caught in the energy aftershock, fluttered like butterflies.

On the warship's deck, the sea breeze still howled. Roy let out a sigh of relief, a light sweat on his forehead. "As expected, teleporting an entire warship is much more strenuous than teleporting a single person."

Bogard held his sword, his expression filled with undeniable shock. "A single teleport across dozens of kilometers... If used multiple times in a row, you could quickly approach a target sea area without needing to follow a route. This is already close to 'space jumping'!"

But Garp was already overjoyed, the sound of him crunching on rice crackers echoing. "Hahaha! So convenient! From now on, I can go wherever I want!"

Roy's mouth twitched. "This isn't some kind of taxi..."

Garp slapped him on the shoulder. "Since we're on the way, let's do a few more teleports! Let's cross this distance in one go!"

Roy took a deep breath. "Yes, sir!"

"Swish!"

The warship shook violently again, transforming into a pale blue light that crossed dozens of nautical miles, appearing directly in a brand new sea area.

"Swish!"

The continuous teleportation made the warship seem like a ghost, constantly weaving through the sea, as if it were directly jumping over the waves.

The next day, near Goa Kingdom.

"SPLASH—!"

The sea exploded. A warship appeared out of thin air, floating steadily on the water.

Garp laughed heartily, like a child. "Hahaha! That was awesome! Roy! I love this move!"

Bogard showed a rare smile. "To cross from the Grand Line to the East Blue in less than a day... If word of this got back to Headquarters, even Fleet Admiral Sengoku would be shocked."

Roy was breathing a little heavily, wiping his sweat. "The consumption is indeed not small, but it's still acceptable."

Garp threw an arm around his shoulder, grinning like a child. "Let's go, let's go! I'll introduce you to someone!"

Roy was slightly taken aback. "Who?"

Garp grinned mysteriously. "My grandson."

"So it really is Ace..." The sea breeze brushed against his face. Roy's heart stirred slightly as he looked towards the familiar coastline.

Mt. Colubo, the back hills forest.

The wind blew, and the leaves rustled. A small, black-haired, freckled boy was swinging a wooden stick, desperately hitting a thick old tree. "Damn it! Stronger! Stronger!"

He looked to be only six or seven years old, small and thin, but his amber eyes held an undeniable stubbornness and wildness.

"ACE!!!"

A voice like a cannonball suddenly boomed.

Ace's whole body jolted. He spun around, and seeing the person, his hair stood on end. "You old geezer?! What are you doing here again?!"

Garp laughed heartily, his steps like the wind. In a blink of an eye, he was in front of Ace, a "Fist of Love" coming straight down on his head. "No respect! Call me grandpa!"

"BANG!"

A large bump instantly formed on Ace's head. He gritted his teeth in pain. "That hurts! You bastard old man!"

Roy stood to the side, calmly looking at the future "Fire Fist" Ace, silently comparing him to the image in his memory.

Ace quickly noticed Roy's presence, his gaze instantly turning sharp. "Who are you?"

Garp laughed and pressed down on Ace's head. "This is my disciple, Roy! He's ten thousand times stronger than you!"

"Let go of me! I'll definitely be stronger than him in the future!" Ace struggled and shouted.

Roy smiled slightly and knelt down. "You want to get stronger?"

Ace glared at him, his jaw tight. "Of course!"

Roy nodded and said lightly, "Then you have to work harder than ordinary people."

Ace was stunned, staring blankly at Roy's deep eyes. "Hmph! I know that without you telling me!" he snorted stubbornly and turned his head away.

Garp couldn't stop laughing, ruffling Ace's hair. "You brat, you've got guts!"

He then turned to Roy. "Hey, Roy, show this kid your 'specialty'!"

Roy felt a little helpless but still stood up slowly. He scanned his surroundings, his gaze finally landing on a large boulder in the distance. He raised his right hand, his fingers slightly spread. "Swish!" The boulder vanished without warning, and the next second, it appeared a hundred meters in the air.

"BOOM!!!"

The boulder fell like a meteor, instantly creating a huge, deep crater. Dust flew everywhere.

Ace's eyes were wide, his mouth open enough to fit an egg. "S-So cool..."

Garp stood with his hands on his hips, smiling proudly. "Well? Want to learn?"

Ace snapped back to his senses, his eyes bursting with an unyielding light. "I want to learn!"

Roy watched this scene silently, sighing in his heart—"Can the course of history... really be changed?"

Evening, the campfire illuminated the three figures.

Starlight fell, and a light breeze carried the scent of sea salt. Ace had already fallen asleep, his hands wrapped around his wooden stick, his brow slightly furrowed, as if he were still fighting in his dreams.

Garp's smile was gone. His eyes were half-closed as he watched Ace, illuminated by the firelight. His voice was low. "Roy, what do you think of this kid?"

Roy was silent for a moment, his expression solemn. "His talent is very high, and he's very strong-willed. But... his personality is too extreme."

Garp nodded slowly. "Yeah, with this kid's personality, he's destined to walk a difficult path."

He turned to look at Roy, a familiar smile on his face. "So, I have to raise him to be a Marine! Hahaha!"

Roy also smiled. "I'll help too."

Garp slapped him on the shoulder. "That's my disciple!"
